Motivation...

I suck at staying on track with things I don’t have a passion for. I never stay motivated to get my work done so I always get behind.

My name is Brooke and here’s where I’m at… I was supposed to graduate high school back in spring 2016 and go to college in the fall like all of my other friends. I didn’t graduate… instead I am still working through my credits to graduate to go to college in the spring. Let’s be honest that’s not happening either. I want to move on with my life and get out of high school, but that isn’t enough motivation for me to get my work done. I’ve tried to look for other motivation to push myself but nothing really works. Don’t get me wrong I am complaining right now, but I can’t blame anyone but me and my own mind. I’m the only one holding myself back. I still have to get the same amount of credits to graduate as I did at the beginning of the year.

This is all about how I work through laziness and working (the constant battle in my mind) to achieve the life I want and the goals I have!

Beginning

Starting next week I’ll be working on downsizing my stuff. I will be put up a series of videos showing you my progress and the process’ I use though out. I’ll post the videos here and on YouTube. I’ll link it in the actual posts. Enjoy!

Can I do this?

I have always been fascinated with the idea of living minimally ever since I heard of the concept. There are some aspect in my life where I already live very minimal. For example my wardrobe is quite small. I own a coupled tee-shirts, a few dress shirts, two pairs of jeans, a couple of pants (nice and casual), a hat or two, one belt, a jacket, a sweater, and few undergarments. Honestly I used to think that I needed to bulk up my wardrobe and get some new outfits, but I’m about to graduate high school and embark on a whole new chapter in my life that could include traveling or moving and I don’t have a steady income to where I can afford renting a truck to haul all of my stuff around or be able to pay to ship my stuff to other countries/cities.

I’m almost out of high school so I figured that I need to go through all of my stuff and only keep what I use or few very sentimental things. I’m going to blog this whole journey and give real perspectives on what it’s like to live simply. Now there are different kinds of minimalism. I’m not going full extreme, but from what I have I’ll be downgrading a lot of my stuff.

an update 1

a lot is happening, your boys are getting busier

days are longer, phone calls with friends are shorter

but we’re excited for where things are taking us and we’re trying to anticipate things to prepare for as best we can

loads of music is being made and the new sounds are going very well - the concepts we have for the performance of them live are coming together quite nicely too

we’re playing bits and pieces of the new album in live settings and it’s amazing to see the rest of the band thrilled to play the new material

don’t worry, the life cycle of the abyss is far from over

the sleep ep is nearly finished but we’re a little anxious about its reception considering the fact that a record made for the intention of helping listeners fall asleep isn’t really a regular concept in terms of commercial music

this year is going to be interesting
