Hi, Mr. Gaiman. How would you motivate a person who thinks they're not smart enough for the kind of job they currently have?

I was once at a dinner with a bunch of eminent scientists. I used the phrase "rocket science", and one of the scientists sighed and said, as if I confidence, "I'm a rocket scientist. And honesty, it's not rocket science."

To which a medical person at the dinner said, "Well, I'm a brain surgeon. And y'know, it's not brain surgery."

And I concluded that actually most jobs are either filled by people who don't think they are qualified for their jobs or are terrified that the rest of the world will figure out that their jobs are easier than everyone believes.
