Zinnia Amano sat at the edge of her bed in the traveller’s lodging at the Verdanturf Pokemon Center, her nails digging into the mattress and bedsheet marked by tears still rolling down. It was 11:28, and the ceiling lights were dimmed for sleeping. The main source of illumination in Zinnia's room was the screen of an original-model PokeNav, shell scratched but still intact. The PokeNav, on the floor, had its screen still up, showing a Rotomblr post. A near-perfect mirror, revealing in sharp, cutting quality the sins of another like her. No. Kosumosu Zinnia was her, a mirror of all of her failures in morality and planning and being a Draconid, wrapped up into another Draconid who made the mistake of loving an Aster, only to lose her. Who joined Aqua, assuring himself that he would summon Rayquaza and keep everything under control. Whose actions caused a child to get in mortal danger. Who might have deserved his fate.

She was trying to stifle her sobbing, to not wake up her dear Aster Minor, soft asleep. She couldn't face her. She couldn't turn her head up to the sky, blocked by the room's ceiling, like she used to. Amano was no little girl anymore -- she fucked up, and the blame was hers alone. She couldn't sleep. And she was certain, now more than ever, that she can't go back to her home village. Any contrary thoughts that gave her hope were moronic, anyways. At best, she would burden them with dishonor and the weight of guilt. At worst, her people would just cast her out again, regard her worse than the Kanjoh generals that scourged Hoenn centuries ago. And who could blame them?
