Bruno Mars surprised everyone by appearing at the 2024 MAMA Awards alongside BLACKPINK‘s Rosé. They performed the song “APT.” which has been topping charts ever since its release.

The duo won the Global Sensation Award, and rightfully so. Bruno surprised audiences by attempting his thank you speech in Korean. He not only said “kamsahamnida,” but he ended off in the signature Korean celebrity way when their speech was done with “This has been Rosé and Bruno!”

How BLACKPINK’s Rosé “Clapped” Back At KBS After They Banned Their Music Video

BLACKPINK might be one of the biggest groups in the world, but they’re also signed under YG Entertainment for group activities, which is known as one of the most laid-back (but savage) companies. The group showcased they are definitely savage AF during their promotions for their single “Shut Down.”

The group has always released amazing tracks, and 2019 was no different when BLACKPINK released their iconic song “Kill This Love.” From the minute it was released, the world went crazy because it was definitely badass AF

Yet, despite how good the video was, it was deemed unfit to be broadcasted by KBS. KBS has been known to be quite strict in terms of regulations, so the disqualification might not have been too surprising to some. What caught many netizens off guard was the fact that the reason for its disqualification was a traffic law violation.

There were many reasons that Korean netizens thought of, but most seemed to agree that it was probably because Rosé wasn’t wearing a seatbelt while driving a car in the music video.

Because of this scene, the video for “Kill This Love” couldn’t be broadcasted. It is very important for music videos to air on public TV as it plays a vital role in music show scores.

So, it seems like both Rosé and YG Entertainment were extra careful and have been dubbed “comedians” after the measures they put into place to make sure it never happens again.

It all came to life when BLACKPINK released the teaser for their “Shut Down.” As expected, all the members looked amazing, and the concept was perfect for their first full album release in over two years. Netizens also couldn’t get over all the references to other BLACKPINK songs during the teaser.

Yet, amongst all the scenes, one stood out and had netizens LOL’ing all because it seems like Rosé learned from “Kill This Love.” In her scene, Rosé is in a car, and in the small clip, it is clear that the idol is actually wearing her seatbelt this time.

On closer look, it seems like both BLACKPINK and YG Entertainment wanted to make sure that the seatbelt could be seen, so broadcasters had no reason to deem it unfit for being broadcasted. Many also saw it being extra savage as Rosé basically seemed to have the same outfit as the “Kill This Love Scene.”

When the teaser came out, although it was only a second or so, netizens straight away noticed that Rosé was wearing a seatbelt. Many joked that Rosé’s sassy pose was a response to KBS…

While others just thought it was incredibly iconic of the idol.

Hopefully, broadcasting stations won’t find any other reasons to stop “Shut Down” from being broadcasted. Once again, YG Entertainment artists have found the most iconic and savage way to hit back at the “establishment,” and it’s truly iconic.

On October 27 at 9:30 a.m. KST, Instiz’s iChart officially announced that “APT.”, Rosé’s new collab single with Bruno Mars, had achieved a perfect all-kill.

While Rosé has previously scored perfect all-kills as a member of BLACKPINK, “APT.” marks her first time achieving one as a soloist.

A song is awarded a certified all-kill when it is No. 1 on the daily and Top 100 charts of Melon, the daily and real-time charts of Genie and Bugs, YouTube Music’s Top Songs chart, VIBE’s daily chart, and the real-time charts of FLO and iChart. A perfect all-kill means the song has also topped iChart’s weekly chart.
