❌Warning long post❌ Sooooo yesterday someone approached me and said, "You got that 'FOX EYE' huh?" In my mind I was like ooookay what does that mean. When I left the conversation I was a little bewildered. Decided to Google it, and oh my! First of all I must say this, as a kid I was TEASED MERCILESSLY about the shape of my eyes (they were a LOT tighter than they are today) I was called all kinds of names: cat woman, chink, chank, and other derogatory names used against Asian people. Kids would walk by me and pull their eyes up on the side. For the LONGEST, I was extremely self conscience about my eyes. It wasn't until I got to be an adult, that I truly started to embrace my eyes, and a lot of the other features that I didn't like about myself as a kid! Why didn't I like them? Well you see, kids can be extremely cruel to other kids who may be a little different from them. It's not just a Black, Asian or Bi-racial thing, it's a multi cultural issue. If you are the least bit different, for one reason or another, you were ridiculed because of it. So yes, NOW I embrace the shape of my eyes, which took me a minute to do! So if you see me on the streets, and my eyes + eye makeup are exaggerated somewhat, I'm not culturally appropriating anyone or any ethnicity, I've just learned to love me... JUST THE WAY I AM! Transformation Tuesday! My kitchen remodel/renovation! Right before the Christmas holidays, my kitchen flooded and man, I was not prepared for the domino effect of damage the water caused. I wound up having to move out a few months, rip out/strip all hardwood floors on the first floor, remove cabinets, sheetrock, granite countertops and the tile backsplash! 🤦🏽‍♀️ It was quite the project! It took over 3 months to complete, but I can say I'm truly ecstatic about the results! I was sourcing products from all over the DFW Metroplex and from various online sites around the world in order to pull it all together. I tell you thing's for sure, remodeling during the pandemic definitely had its challenges. Products either had lead times months and months out or inventory was extremely low to none existent! But I did it! Yay! All I can say is this... Sometimes our greatest success comes from our greatest challenges! The road ahead may look daunting...keep the faith my friends. In August of 2019 I set out on a journey to loose weight using the #ketodiet In 3 months I was down over 30lbs, and looking forward to being SUMMERTIME FINE in 2020! BUT RONA! The pandemic said, NOT THIS SUMMER! I'm sure some of you guys can all relate to gaining those few extra pounds during Covid. "Covid 19" could've easily stood for the added "19lbs" gained during that time for a great deal of us! So this is MY #mondaymotivation...I DID IT ONCE AND I CAN DO IT AGAIN!!! #💪🏽 Summer is around the corner and #Keto will be back in full swing. I don't want to loose quite as much as before ( I was looking like a 💀😂) But definitely at least 10-12! It can be quite frustrating when plans don't work out according to what we envision.
