As a fic writer, i need every reader to know that:
I don’t care if your comment is coherent. I know what you mean and i love you
I don’t care if you ramble. I read every word and i love you
I don’t care if you leave a comment on a fic from four years ago or leave comments/kudos on like ten of my fics in one go. This isn’t IG, pls stalk my AO3. I love you
I don’t care if you mention the same thing in your comment that four other people have already mentioned. It’s actually really useful to know what resonated with people and I love everyone who takes the time to tell me they liked a particular turn of phrase
I don’t mind if your comment is super long or just a couple of sentences, i love them all
I love you

Finan comforting Uhtred after Beocca's death?
Osferth trying to calm Sihtric and keep him awake when they're hanging upside down?
The Last Kingdom is full of the purest, most untoxic masculine friendships and it is so beautiful I could cry.

Vampire!Alfred the Great
If Alfred got turned into a vampire he would:
Enjoy not being chronically ill anymore.
Drink people's blood but not kill them (and if anyone tries to tell him it's weird he points out that Christians drink Christ's Blood all the time).
Use his vampire hearing to eavesdrop on any plotting or scheming in the palace.
Use his vampire speed to whoosh over and catch said scheemer in the act of scheming.
Use his vampire compulsion to make said schemers loyal (and then compell them to to do cartwheels in a pigsty)
Use his vampire compulsion on Uhtred only to compel Uhtred to never be compelled by him or any other vampire.
Pick Uhtred up all the time with his vampire super strength and carry him around.
TVD vampire lore because that's the only vampire show I like. If any of you think of any more vampire!Alfred HC's let me know <3

Chapters: 3/4 Fandom: The Last Kingdom (TV) Rating: Teen And Up Audiences Warnings: No Archive Warnings Apply Relationships: Alfred the Great/Uhtred of Bebbanburg, Hild/Iseult (The Last Kingdom) Characters: Uhtred of Bebbanburg, Alfred the Great (849-899), Leofric (The Last Kingdom), Beocca (The Last Kingdom), Odda the Younger (The Last Kingdom), Hild (The Last Kingdom), Iseult (The Last Kingdom), Baby Edward the Elder, Child Aethelflaed, Brida (The Last Kingdom) Additional Tags: Time Travel Fix-It, Old Uhtred in Young Uhtred's body, Single Parent Alfred the Great, Alternate Universe - Canon Divergence, Minor Character Death, POV First Person, POV Uhtred of Bebbanburg, Slow Burn, (more of a medium burn but to me that's slow), Angst and Humor, Angst with a Happy Ending, Wish Fulfillment Summary:
Instead of going to Valhalla after the events of Seven Kings Must Die, Uhtred finds himself back in time just after his family home burns down, on the run from his enemies, seeking shelter in Wessex. But a key event has already changed: Brida is not with him when he enters Winchester (Uhtred urged her to sail to Ireland and Young Ragnar, so she is never cursed to be barren) and so Uhtred, with his eighty-year-old soul in his eighteen-year-old body, is very much subdued and far less overtly rebellious than he was before.
Instead of fighting Alfred every step of the way, he subverts expectations in various and sundry ways which surprise not only the king but Uhtred himself. Uhtred views Alfred much differently in the light of his long life experience and subsequently allows himself to fall head over heels in love with him.
But will the king love him back?

Everytime I read Frankenstein, the same line makes me put the book down and stare at the wall. It’s my favorite line in the book; it has its own highlighter color in my annotations. The first time I read it, I literally detoured after my last class just to tell my lit teacher how much I liked the line because I couldn’t wait until second period the next day. Here’s the line:
“Life, although it may only be an accumulation of anguish, is dear to me, and I will defend it.”
This is said by the creature. He wanted to live. He wanted to live life so badly even though he had had such a difficult one. He still loved the song of the birds and the smell of the flowers and the joy in the world even if he never got to truly experience that joy. I just. AHHHH.
He wanted to fight for a life he never got to live.

horniest battle moments:
- taking your ally's weapon out of their scabard to use yourself
- using someone else's shoulder as a rifle stand
- nudging someone's chin up with the tip of your weapon
- freezing with your blades against one another's throats, breathing into each other's mouths

From book one, Uhtred remarks or elsewise narratively implies that Alfred lacked a sense of humour, but eventually this fades in latter books.
My actual thought here is that Alfred did not, at all, lack a sense of humour. He was simply surrounded by people who didn't know whether or not they should laugh.
King or not, if the man sat there and remarked about sharpening a quill, only to look up when someone addressed him, and that he (more than once!) carried on to sharpen his thumb, I'd crack up.
Alternatively, someone's in for it, the kitchen's short on the number of breakfast rolls they made. "Oh. That was me."
What're they going to do, scold him?
(I'd laugh and be pleased he ate something all in one.)
In confession, mildly: is it theft if one owns the kitchen?
Priest: flushing to the colour of crabapples because he knows Alfred knows the literal answer to that but he's asked it as a philosophical question except he has to give it a literal answer and not only that, but ALFRED EXPECTS THE LITERAL ANSWER
