Hello. *throws the rewritten demo at you*
Here, have this. This is basically a rewrite of the content that was already available + a small announcement that chapter 2 part 2 will come out on November 23rd.
The rewrite changes some pretty important lore elements, you can find the details here. The scenes are all still there, but I advise you to read the demo carefully, if you have time, because things have changed subtly, but they did. Also, the old saves don't work anymore.
I read the comments about Arthur and have taken them into consideration, so there have been changes with him too. Let me know what you think.
See you very soon❤

Game Update - 8/25/22
The first part of Chapter 4 is available to play!
Features include:
Some new customization options in Chapter 3, including mustaches (under the beards category), moles (under freckles), vitiligo, dimples, and sunglasses (in the category with the rest of the glasses)!
Five new bedroom options! One for each wall color style
Intense magic spells!
A moment of… reflection?
This chapter really starts off with a bang! I’m so delighted to finally get to Chapter 4. This is where the plot really starts to move forward, and there’s some new intrigues to mull over. And potentially a new character… or are they? 😉 I’m also hoping to give the Speaker (and everyone else) a little chance to breathe after the events in this update. Some downtime to get to know new friends and spend time with old ones. But that’s something to look forward to for next month
What you can expect in the next update:
A chance to sit down and talk some things out!
RO POV scenes!
A break, for once!
As always, thank you for reading! 💙💙💙

There are three basic steps that shape my writing sprints: writing a scene, then realizing it's written in the past tense, then having to rewrite it in the present tense

Pick a prompt and a RO and I'll write a scene with both: Angst
I love the angst, I live for the angst; asks are appreciated! 💕 The following prompts are some of my favorites that I picked from @soulprompts 's posts! They have lots of nice prompts, so definitely check out their account if you're interested.
[ANGEL OF LIGHT] "Please. Don't look at me like that."
[THORNS ON THE SIDE] "If something happened to you...that would be because of me. And I can't have that."
[SHARP CARESS] "You would tell me if something was wrong. Wouldn't you?"
[THUNDERING HEART] "What have you done!?"
[BLACKENED EYESIGHT] "I've...made some mistakes."
[HARROWING SPIKES] "You are nothing to me."
[A SHATTERED BLADE] "I didn't mean for any of this to happen!"
[AND A BROKEN HEART] "Please don't go... don't leave me."
[WHO DARES TO CROSS] "Let go of me."
[THE ROYAL HAND] "I'm not what you think I am."
[THAT PETS THE BIRD] "You can't protect me. You can't protect any of us!"
[UNDER THE MOONLIGHT?] "Don't let them control you, eh?"
[NOBODY DOES] "They're not worth saving."
[ONLY YOU] "I am a god. You? You're nothing."
[IT HAS ALWAYS BEEN] "I'll follow you to the bitter end. As I always have."
[THAT WAY] "Don't you ever forget."
Scenes won't be canon unless stated otherwise.

This life is not a life.
This life may have never been a life. Like all other lives, this one was brought into the world just like all other births: time contracted, splintered, then fell free. It spins on, squeezing moments into the next before reaching the precipice of death; the meaning of existence divided in two.
It starts like this: Unable to see, unable to hear, unable to piece bits and pieces together because at first our hands can only grasp onto nothing. Compressed is the tale of immeasurable weight, dreams and hopes and beliefs all placed upon soft flesh and weak muscle, the floating plates of a skull.
It starts like this: we refused death and that being is now this being in this time and that child did not die and will not die, and that child opens its eyes to a strange new world and will keep hurtling forwards until it crosses the boundary.
A thousand years ago, ten thousand years ago, one-hundred thousand years ago, life came to be because we did not die before we passed down the torch. We are not pioneers. We are not creatures of change. We do not become which that we are not. We were one thing and we are now another, and another thing is not what we asked to be, so we clawed our way out of the dirt and demanded to be heard.
It starts like this: You were murdered. And then you came back.
STORY;
NOR ARE WE FORGIVEN is a horror interactive fiction made in twine. A slasher story with a twist – the first victim is given another chance at life. The only catch? Something very, very old and terrible has settled into your bones. Suddenly the murderer on the loose may be the least of your problems.
NOR WE ARE FORGIVEN and the blog are strictly rated 18+ for depictions of blood & gore, alcohol & drug mentions and/or use, unreality, and sexual content.
FEATURES;
CUSTOMIZABLE MAIN CHARACTER: gender, pronouns, personality, appearance & more
POTENTIAL RELATIONSHIPS: ranging from platonic to romantic, build a social life, make friends, and maybe even find a partner who doesn't mind the whole risen-again thing.
DETERIORATING SANITY: are you dead? alive? have you been here before? you've been here before.
CHOICE-DRIVEN STORY: with a variety of routes and choices, unravel the mystery and uncover the identity of your killer before you find yourself six feet under again.

The Lure of the Gallows by Killian Faust is a modern urban fantasy interactive fiction novel developed using the Twine format and updated through Itch.io on a chapter-by-chapter basis. Originally posted as the first entry in a trilogy through Dashingdon, it is now adapted to be one novel with three main arcs.
In the unsuspecting small town of Washington Bay, Delaware, you have just become the last living seer after a fatal house fire killed your parents. When the town’s designated Council of the Paranormal descends into havoc and refuses to pursue the investigation into the murders, you are forced to launch your own campaign to find the person responsible, even at the cost of your own life.
Across the country, in the modest tourist town of Melchior, Oregon, you are its most dangerous secret after the sudden disappearance of your father. Ever since you were a child, you have mastered the ability to control cell regeneration: with a wave of your hand, you can decay living organisms to the point of no return… or even revitalize them, if you so choose. In your greatest time of need, your father has vanished with only one, simple instruction: go to Washington Bay, and find the last Seer living there before it’s too late.
You are not alone: you have allies and friends, enemies and family. The truth of your ancestry is an ancient, terrible beast, and he has a familiar face. Yet as worlds collide and burn in fantastic light, you may find that the face you recognize the best, the one you’ve known in the mirror your whole life, could be the only thing you cannot turn away from.
And it could be the very thing that finally, truly kills you.
[DEMO TO BE RELEASED IN AUGUST 2022]

corruption arc prompts + dialogue
i tried something
you are too power-hungry to stop. you can finally step out of the dark and take your crown. the world can be yours; it will be yours.
your lover has sacrificed your best friend/sibling for "the greater cause." you didn't care if your faction would win, you just want everyone you love to come home. and now one of them just sacrificed the other for a cause you didn't even believe in
your lover betrays you for the crown. at the moment you thought that peace has finally arrived, the person whom you love the most stabbed you in the back, choosing his conquest over your love. you were left in filth, but you will show them who is more wicked.
not betrayed, but you are left alone after the conflict. you sacrificed yourself for the cause, but no one care. they all left you. you were nothing but a puppet, played with when useful; discarded when convenient.
in an attempt to yield god-like power, you didn't know it would destroy your heart and soul. your conscience is now rotten and you turn on your faction
you have a strict moral code that your teammates and loved ones refuse to understand. now you have made your final choice. they called you "corrupted"; you call it "necessary."
a tragedy had left your heart shattered in its wake. unable to accept the pain, you joined the dark to seek salvation, turning vicious during the way
poverty is a bitch. you are now killing people for money to provide for your needs, and you are quite liking it
you said that you were just making your lover's killer pay, why are you hurting other people too?
dialogues
"i have waited so long for my crown, i will not let anyone has it again."
"why, why did you do that?" "i have to, love, it was for the right cause." "so i am not your right cause then? so my family doesn't matter to you then?" "less than what i am fighting for."
"i am sorry for everything. you can still join me." "what is done it's done. and if you thought i will join you, go fuck yourself." "darling-" "no, no listen. you broke me, and hell i will let you go away with it"
"where is everyone?" "they left." "why did they leave? we are still here. their soldiers are still here." "no, we are not soldiers, we are discarded puppets, and we are not useful to them anymore." "then we will show them that we can fight."
"you thought the light in my soul was enough, but god you were wrong"
"i can't recognize you anymore." "you wouldn't"
"i swear a vow; i would kill them, even if it brings my downfall"
"you left me behind. i would be happy to drain the life from your eyes"

CHARACTER DESCRIPTION:: ROs
OLIVER. Black, chin-length wavy hair and a pale, almost sickly beige skin tone. He's lanky for a 173 cm tall man, which means he has long limbs even though his stature makes them look average. He has eyes of a jade green, not quite as intense as his sister's, and slightly down turned eyes with long, black eyelashes. Ollie wears loose fitting dress shirts, and pleated pants with monochrome tones. Most would describe his appearance as unkempt, that is, if they ever catch a glimpse of him.
DIANA. Long hair with loose curls of a deep crimson shade. Her emerald eyes contrast with her smooth, warm ivory skin. She has some freckles around her nose, but not enough to cover her whole face. Of a sturdy and buff build, she often wears green, brown and red dresses. Pants and boots are also part of her wardrobe; most of them belong to her hunting attires. Her clothes are oftentimes adorned by delicate ornaments and thin patterns woven in silver and golden threads. Has a beauty mark under her left eye. 176 cm tall. Upon first glance, her imposing figure commands respect.
CATHERINE. Scrawny build, dirty blonde wavy hair that she keeps styled up, and fair skin. She tends to look smaller than what she actually is, and that is because she often stands next to Diana. She has small and soft features, and even softer, slender hands. Her preferred colors are those that lightly accentuate her natural tones; various shades of white and blue decorate her gowns and dresses. She is always seen with some sort of headpiece, as well as jewelery and a pet companion. Catherine is considered level-headed and composed, and that can be seen in the way she presents herself.
??? (he/him). Fairly muscular, of average height. He doesn't have a great variety of outfits to choose from, but he has still managed to accumulate things throughout the years to decorate his wardrobe with and make it look slightly more personal. Ash brown, curly hair and hazel eyes; his skin is a deep bronze, and he has two moles, one over his right eyebrow and the other on his left cheek. A braided bracelet hangs from his wrist. He carries himself with poise, and his movements are as precise as they are graceful. Has lots of tiny scars on both arms.

We hit this milestone a little bit ago but I wasn’t quite certain what I wanted to do until now.
First things first, I’d like to thank you all for supporting Absentia. I adore interacting with you all and I love to see all of the theories that you come up with when in regards to the Kidnapper’s identity (and whatever else). I’m so honored that I get to have Readers like all of you that are so loving and absolutely amazing. I can’t wait for you all to get back into Absentia when Chapter One is finally rereleased into the public demo.
Until then I’d just like to do something fun for you all! There will be three prizes for everyone who wishes to participate— it’s not at all mandatory— in this little event.
1st Place: Commission of your MC and chosen RO** // Option to create your own reoccurring character within Absentia // Medium Drabble
2nd Place: Commission of your MC** // Option to create your own character within Absentia // Short Drabble
3rd Place: Option to create your own character within Absentia
** Artist hasn’t been chosen yet.
All you have to do? Simply reblog or comment on this post and you’ll automatically be entered into the pool. This will be open for everyone until the end of August/Early September!
I hope you all have fun! Thank you again for being so wonderful and supporting me on this journey.
Love you all!!! ❤️🌹🌹❤️

[ DEMO ] [ INTRO POST ]
"Once a liar, always a liar. No matter how many times you tell the truth."
Surprise! I'm dropping the demo early because I'll be gone by midnight with my family to somewhere! Enjoy!
Play the Prologue & Chapter One. (About 30,000 words altogether)
Dream a dream.
Meet a woman at a bar.
And aim a gun at an old friend.
I'm a bit of a quick typist so I may or may have accidentally pressed on an odd key here and there and while I do try to look for weird words when I edit, my brain tends to miss them 😅 if you do come across any misspelt words or weird grammar, please do let me know so I can fix them!
As always, thank you for your patience and support! Reblogs are greatly appreciated!
And until next time, happy hunting.
