DA2 is what happens when you have good writers and no budget for the actual game, and Veilguard appears to be what happens when you fire all the writers

the most delusional cersei hater take is that she want that hot she was just vain and “the light in the west” thing is clearly some hag cope. meanwhile every cat chapter she’s like “you gotta give cersei credit. she’s the baddest bitch in the south. i don’t even fw her but i can’t deny her long golden hair and massive tits”

i know ppl hate to hear it but dany’s character has always, always, ALWAYS been about protecting other people. she protected her handmaidens, she (tried) to protect the women of the village that drogo sacked, she protected viserys’s feelings, she protected missandei, she protected her khalasaar, she wants to help the slaves of slaver’s bay because she sees their treatment as cruel and unfair, she marries hizdahr to bring peace to meereen, she locks up viserion and rhaegal when she finds out that they’ve been killing people, and on and on it goes
when she arrives in westeros, her conquest will be short lived because she will want to protect the people of westeros from the others, she will go to the wall and fight that conclusive battle, and she will most likely die in the process because that is who dany is.
aside from that bit of endgame speculation, none of this is arguable. to ignore that the desire to nurture and protect is an intrinsic part of daenerys’s character means you have managed to ignore a good chunk of her chapters and characterization.
i’m not saying she is flawless, or that she has done nothing wrong. in her anger and grief, she chose to burn mirri maz duur as a sacrifice, and she acquiesced to her advisors’ insistences on torturing the wineseller daughters. both topics deserve their own form of discussion, but too often i see them (especially the latter) be decontextualized for the sake of disparaging her.
daenerys is a protector and a nurturer at heart, and i’d argue this is also her fatal flaw. she cares emotionally, which has led her into poor planning and lapses of judgement, and i believe will lead her to her eventual death. put this in contrast to stannis was cares unemotionally, who views protecting his people as his duty and not something he takes particular fulfillment or enjoyment in.
daenerys cares. she always did, and she always will.

Aegon joked about burning the Riverlands and people found it funny. He stopped a council meeting to make his master of coin give a pony ride to that annoying ass little boy and it was seen as cute. He made stupid and uninformed decisions when on the throne and people think he’s a good ruler because he’s thinking of the small folk. He killed a dozen innocent rat catchers but he’s acting out of anger and it’s justified because his son was killed by one of them.
Meanwhile young Rhaenyra being disagreeable during a marriage tour makes her a spoiled irresponsible brat, her not wanting to be a mother at 14 and go through what her mother did makes her a pick me, her expecting to be the queen after her father, the ruler of a hereditary monarchy promised her the throne makes her an idiot who didn’t earn her inheritance.
For EVERY single thing she does, she’s villainized and seen as unworthy for the throne. If she was the one talking about burning lord Tully and the Riverlands, we wouldn’t be hearing the end of how mad and unfit the tyrannical she is. But who gaf if an idiot with a cock says it. No wonder they’ve been writing her the way they do.
And I don’t even want to hear it from you idiots saying “Rhaenyra fans want her to be innocent!!” When the entire fucking planet has been anticipating her cruelty since the premiere. But I also acknowledge that you freaks will tear her apart the minute she does anything controversial meanwhile THE MALE CHARACTERS DO THE ABSOLUTE SAME THING OR WORSE.
You people are stupid and misogynistic even if you don't think you are.

Can we please destroy the idea that we are obligated to forgive someone if they apologize and have genuinely changed and/or are genuinely remorseful? Or that we should forgive even if they aren’t for “our own benefit.”
It’s okay to not be ready to forgive, and it’s okay if someone isn’t ever ready.
No one is owed your forgiveness, and forgiveness being necessary to healing is quite honestly… bullshit. If forgiveness helps you, then I’m happy for you and you’re still so valid but the same is not true for everyone. We all heal differently.
Please only forgive if you want to and not because you’ve been pressured to by the person apologizing or anyone else.
