playing erdtree with my pal we get invaded by someone named "Drip Inspector" and im like "waitwaitwait. ok lets just pose leaning back to back and wait for them to show up maybe our outfits will be so good they wont kill us"
so we wait until they show up and then they get reaaaal close to us . and then pull out their telescope and start circling around us and zooming in for a good 30 seconds. then they clap, use the "wonderful" and "youre beautiful" prattling pates, and jump off a cliff. invader vanquished

Edgar Allan Poe uses live burial, the death of a beautiful young woman, and narrators haunted by some guilt or loss to the point of madness the way that Taco Bell uses ground beef, refried beans, and cheese. This isn't exactly a diss, but he really does squeeze an impressive number of crowd-pleasing combinations out of the same few ingredients.

people who bash on Americans for only speaking English need to understand how freaking hard it is to learn a foreign language without being able to walk 20 feet to the left and be totally immersed in the country which speaks said language. especially considering how incredibly freaking difficult it is to learn an additional language in the first place if you weren't raised bilingually or with access to immersion. my hot take is that if the EU had one largely dominant language and had to drive 30 hours and/or then fly another 13 hours to get out of the place that speaks that language (spending ridiculous amounts of money available only to the 1% while they're at it), they would be monolingual. ESPECIALLY BECAUSE LANGUAGES ARE HARD. critics should try learning, say, Japanese...in a place with no Japanese people. I DID. it was very hard. I had to go FAR out of my way and pay much in tutoring fees only to speak Japanese "in the wild" maybe three times over the course of 7+ years' studying. if I didn't have a passion for it and wasn't slightly neurodivergent about it, it would not have happened. In contrast, I got from beginner to low intermediate in Korean with 2 months of immersion in S Korea. i am begging people to consider geography and immersion access before they start sniping

Tumblr's invasive tracking??
very do not like how my Tumblr, which I only use on my laptop at home, shows me things I only spoke about with my coworkers at the office. Or things i only mentioned during a Zoom meeting.
How much mic control and data access it must have to get from my phone (on which I do not use tumblr) at the office (at which I also do not use tumblr) and my personal Zoom meeting (in which I am not using tumblr) to my personal computer at home?? I don't even know which permissions to turn off at this point!! Augh!! Is it even worth it...?
Improved search is OFF, btw.
