This is good news! In-game currency and predatory marketing is going to be forced to change. At least in the EU. They would also have to offer refunds for purchases made.

Best case scenario is that a new form emerges where you can just buy what you want and this applies everywhere. No buying currency for a chance at summoning a character. No having to spend ten dollars on in-game currency when the outfit you want is only seven. None of that. I’m sure prices will increase to make up for that, however.

Worst case? Games like Overwatch just decide to not worry about the EU market.

China is also changing things too and that’s another huge market they can’t sell to. So something is gonna have to change.

i like working at plant store. sometimes you ring up someone and there's a slug on their plant and so you're like "Oh haha you've got a friend there let me get that for you" and you put the slug on your hand for safekeeping but then its really busy and you dont have time to take the slug outside before the next customer in line so you just have a slug chilling on your hand for 15 minutes. really makes you feel at peace with nature. also it means sometimes i get to say my favorite line which is "would you like this free slug with your purchase"

a month ago i picked up a book on stage directing in my school’s black box and opened to a random page and it was something about making shakespearean actors rehearse by adding the word fuck to their lines to turn the archaic language into something familiar for the emotional resonance (of course taking it out as rehearsals move along to fix rhythm/etc but just to start off) and the example it gave was the solid flesh speech. like. iirc it was specifically “but two fucking months dead”

Same. I need to be engaged in the story. Nothing more of a turn off than an uninteresting protagonist.

I am sick of stories like 'The MC is this overpowered chad who faces zero struggle or consequences outside a brief discomfort' or 'The MC gets a harem out of nowhere'.

Fuck me, where's the tension? Where's the struggle? Where's the moment of facing down an impossibly more powerful foe only to win either through clever tactics, determination or simply because the hero has gone through a proper arc and became a more mature person than the villain?

One of the reasons I have trouble using servers. We’ll be talking about one thing and naturally transition to another only for some admin to come in like “Guys, I see you’re now talking about your day instead of the topic of this channel. Could you please take this over Just Chatting?” Like, I’m pretty sure nobody but the admins care. Then you end up with too many channels and it’s overwhelming…

I have a lot of gripes with the admin culture of discord users but easily the worst thing is the proliferation of channels. You do not need that many channels. You are 100 people. Entire IRC networks have fewer channels than this. Show some restraint.
