This painting of my fictional Ares II rocket was based on a real photo of NASA's SLS launching on the Artemis I mission, taken by Ben Cooper. The rendering and the plumes were of course very fun, but I'm particularly happy with how I was able to communicate the tower here.

Well, since Incredibles 3 is confirmed, I might as well give in to the brainworms yet again. Behold, a normal retrofuture 70s couple

Mr. Rydinger has a neat and tidy middle class office job and the two live in a small white-picket-fence house that exudes midcentury american dream. Mrs. Rydinger has been between a lot of odd jobs lately and while she always seems optimistic that this one is going to stick, something or other always seems to send her looking again in short order. Her husband is dutifully supportive but can't help but wonder why she's drawn to jobs that keep her out so late and leave her perpetually frazzled and sleep-deprived. She is a fierce progressive and he is the most agreeable man on the planet.

I don't think I ever posted this one of Uranus! More recent than my older Uranus works but same idea. Once again pretending the moon Ariel might be spewing plumes of material into space, in this case creating a reddish-brown ring of haze around the planet - akin to Saturn's E ring caused by its moon Enceladus.

quick doodle of a SpaceX Big Falcon Spaceship entering Mars' upper atmosphere.

The ship design is based on a SpaceX concept from ~2017 that later got replaced with the current Starship. The style is inspired by some old paintings of the space shuttle!

just in time for artfight (aha) I may have come up with a new character. Her name is Jocelyn James-Richardson, she is fairly high ranking in the U.S. Space Force Delta 27, and as of right now she is in deep shit.

Thinking some spooky supernatural space conspiracy stuff going on in her setting...possible world-ending ritual type beat...
