WARNING: Spoilers below for the final chapter of the TF2 comics

I can't even believe I get to say that.

I love Team Fortress 2 more than I could possibly tell you, and the fact that it's loved by so many is no accident. Valve's team really put a lot of work into the game when it was first developed 15 years ago. Me and my cousin loved it, and we still talk about it with a fondness that hasn't gone away.

And even though the development team recently has been extremely unreliable and unresponsive, the original story and game that we have today is still one of the most incredible things Valve has ever produced.

All this to say that the final comic, while short, was exactly what I have been hoping for. This early Christmas gift was not expected, and not unwelcomed. Here are my honest thoughts.

I was so caught off guard by it's release that I thought it was a prank. So imagine my surprise when I opened the TF comics page and saw the 7th comic posted today! I read it eagerly, and was so happy to see all of my favorite characters. It felt like I was discovering TF2 for the first time all over again. It was funny and beautifully drawn, and the ending made me cry. I loved the part where Scout, instead of going after Ms. Pauling, decided he was going to find love with someone else. While I was fully expecting him to go for Pauling, I was so happy to see him move on. Also, the Administrator's backstory was so cool! I was so happy that the mercs were free of Teufort and got to relax. It was exactly the kind of ending I was hoping for, even though I expect them to all die in the end.

And so, looking back at this community and what it means to me, and many others, I feel like this is a message to us, to tell us that they care, that they are trying, as slow as they are, to be there for this game, to mend it and shape it into something never before seen. They care about TF2 just as much as we do, even if they don't show it very well.

This community has done amazing things with TF2, from mods, to fanart, to full blown movies, and I'm sure Valve doesn't want to squander the profits they make from this ancient game. So, I believe that goods things are coming, and I'm choosing to stay hopeful of this.

So, Valve,

Thank you so much for this. I can only hope you do more for this community, because we love you games, and we love your stories.
