It’s time for Orange Blossom 🌼

Orange is a very friendly, outgoing girl. She’s very artistic, and enjoys painting landscapes and animals. She sees Strawberry struggling to ask Bread Pudding (the outdoor mall manager) to rent out a space for her bakery, and helps Strawberry gain the confidence she needs to take the first step. Orange creates the logo for Strawberry’s business and they become berry besties. Orange knows a lot about Strawberry Land (including the Berry Big Jungle), and makes sure Strawberry knows the ins and outs of the town. Strawberry heavily relies on Orange’s support of her and her bakery when she first moves in, and tries to pay her back in every way she can.

The 2025 Gender Census is now open!

The 12th annual international gender census, collecting information about the language we use to refer to ourselves and each other, is now open until 30th August 2025.

It’s short and easy, for most participants it takes 5 minutes or less.

After the survey is closed I’ll process the results and publish a spreadsheet of the data and a report summarising the main findings. Then anyone can use them for academic or business purposes, self-advocacy, tracking the popularity of language over time, and just feeling like we’re part of a huge and diverse community.

If you think you might have friends and followers who’d be interested, please do reblog this blog post, and share the survey URL by email or at AFK social groups or on other social networks. Every share is extremely helpful!

I’m a bit nervous to post this, but everyone said they’d be interested so.

Presenting my Strawberry Shortcake reboot idea- AKA, Strawberry Shortcake’s Berry Bitty Bakery! The idea is that it would be a kids show with a semi episodic plot structure, with a moral message to be learned each time.

Strawberry Shortcake here just moved from Big Apple City to Strawberry Land (a small tourist town located right outside of the Berry Big Jungle), and spends the first episode working up the courage to request to rent out a space at the Berry Plaza (the outdoor mall in Strawberry Land) to start selling her baked goods. She eventually gets herself a nice little hole in the wall kind of establishment, and begins to gain notoriety for how amazing her pastries taste. This begins to unfortunately attract unwanted attention, however….

Well, that’s all for now! Orange Blossom is next :)
