Dame event spoilers!!!

I'm gonna share my thoughts on it so please don't attack me for it but like. Okay. I'm glad it wasn't a genderbend. God that would have been horrible (if you don't understand then I can explain why genderbends are transphobic, from a trans person perspective). I would also like to state that, as someone who is trans masc, I am all for boys wearing dresses/makeup/long hair.

HOWEVER the fact that the boys were FORCED to wear it against their will? And the fact that they had to completely change their behavior for it as well? Icky vibes all around (reminds me a bit of the angels event if I'm being honest)! Also I'm confused as to why Luke and Solomon have cards for the event when they weren't forced to dress up?

Regardless, I will concede that it ended better than the angels event. The queen admitted that people should be accepted regardless of race or gender and that they don't have to do this ever again. I agree with that wholeheartedly.

The thing that scares me the most is the fandom reaction to it. When the event was announced, it wasn't made clear that it was going to be dressing up, and many people thought it would have genderbend. I saw countless posts of people saying "omg they got boobs now!!!!! So hot" just because they were dressed up?

This is a clear example of what's wrong with the concept of genderbends. When you do genderbends and give characters long hair and dresses, people will automatically assume that the character is a girl. This is not true. The boys simply had hair extensions and fancy outfits, but because people are so accustomed to the concept of genderbends, they see long hair/dress and immediately think "oh this is a girl". It reinforces the idea that all girls have long hair and dress effeminately, and that guys can't do this without being labelled girls.

Guys can wear dresses! Guys can have long hair! They are STILL guys! Appearance does NOT equal gender! Clothing is not gendered! Hair styles aren't gendered! They are boys who were dressing up! (You may notice that i avoid the term crossdressing - that's because crossdressing implies that clothing is gendered to begin with. It is not.)

I am asking the fandom to please be respectful towards the boys, especially during this event! Don't misgender them, and recognize the fact that it wasn't okay because all of this happened AGAINST THEIR WILL, just like with the angels event. And if you want to defend genderbends on this post, please just block me instead!
