I made Osechi!
Osechi Ryori (御節料理) are the traditional foods enjoyed on New Year’s day in Japan. They come in an assortment of colorful dishes packed together in special boxes called jubako, which resemble bento boxes. Every dish of these traditional foods have special meaning in welcoming the New Year.
Similar to bento boxes, Osechi Ryori are usually packed in 2-3 layers of lacquer boxes (ojubako) and there are many dishes in each layer.

The 47 Prefectures
As you should be able to tell from the title there are 47 prefectures in Japan that range in culture, food and dialect of the Japanese language. These prefectures are roughly equivalent to states or provinces in other countries. SO.... Like states or provinces, each are a bit unique due to different customs and adaptations made by the people in those areas.

Spa Land: My Korean Onsen (Jimjilbang) Experience!
So let me tell you! I am a huge fan of Onsen life here in Japan. I go often and it helps that my gym has a small onsen inside. Also if I am throwing you off by saying onsen, I mean hot spring/spa! So while in Korea I had to visit the biggest onsen (jimjilbang in Korea) in Busan, South Korea. Now Jimjilbang's are very different than onsen in Japan. A jjimjilbang is essentially a large, public bathhouse (gender-separated) furnished with hot tubs, showers, saunas and massage tables. Every spa offers unique features; however, there are often snack bars, ondol-heated flooring for lounging and sleeping, wide-screen TVs, exercise rooms, ice rooms, heated salt rooms, and even sleeping quarters (as one of my students told meI don't really need a hotel I could just stay at a jimjilbang, but not at Spa Land which does have regular closing hours!). So Yeah! I went to Spa Land in Shinsegae Centum City Mall in Busan. Spa Land has Click Here To Read More From My Blog

A Box Inside a Bag, Inside a Box, Inside Another Bag, Inside a Box And Another Bag...
Wrapping Culture.....
If you come to Japan, you know exactly what I'm talking about.
When you think of Japan, outside of Anime, Godzilla, and School Girls many people think of cleanliness and recycling. And this makes sense seeing that there are about 12 different ways to separate your garbage and no trash cans on the streets and people will scold you if you throw trash on the ground.
My actual sorting poster.. it's huge, there is also a back side....
I mean just the other day I was walking by Lawsons when an elementary schooler walked out ...

So don't get me wrong I like Jaden Smith I think he is a good actor and performer. But the ball was just dropped with this show. Netflix is hands down one of the best producers of a show ever, I mean look at most of their productions! But their animations team is lacking. and this show is sadly no different. Maybe I am being too harsh. you let me know in the description below. and sorry BTG gaming will start again next week. tech problems to deal with first...

J-Blog: Sports
In America sports are really popular! Everyone watches sports such as American Football, Baseball, Soccer, Gymnastics, Volleyball and many more. Especially, around this time of year because school sports start training in September and Fall sports start to air on the TV. When I was a kid I played soccer, even though I was not good at it. I also did Gymnastics. As I got older I stopped playing Soccer and doing Gymnastics. I grew really tall in middle school so when I started high school I was recruited to join the Volley Ball Team. But I was really shy so I never joined the team. The coach tried to recruit me every year during my high school years. When I started University I regretted never joining the team and so I played a lot of Volley Ball with my friends. What sports do you like to watch and play?

J-blog: Some of my fav. things!
I am often asked what I do in my free time. I usually say walking but truthfully I love to visit shrines. I love visiting and taking pictures and videos. I also have a shrine stamp book that I enjoy getting filled at each shrine I visit. I always have my book with me just in case I find a shrine. I bought my book at Akama Shrine last year and so far I have 10 stamps. Do you have a shrine stamp book? Where should I go for my next stamp?

J-Blog 2: Youkai!
One of my favorite things to do in Japan is learn and read about different Youkai stories. I think they are so interesting and cute! My favorite Youkai is this big dog that walks with you home at night if you are by yourself. And it protects you but if you look back, hesitate, or trip it will eat you! Then once you get home safe you should say out loud “thank you”. I often go on walks at night so I have gotten in the habit of saying thank you as soon as I get home safe. I also have decided that my next pet will be named Youkai because I like them so much! Do you like Youkai? What is your favorite story?
