“My gun was holstered.”

“They’re all old movies.” Bellamy protests.

“Where is everybody?”

Clarke jumps, nearly dropping the bowl in her hands. She turns to find Bellamy at the kitchen backdoor. He hides a laugh under a cough when he sees her annoyance and when her eyes narrow further, he throws his hands up in mock surrender.

The farmhouse is unusually empty. Madi is with friends and Raven, Emori, and Murphy fled when Clarke informed them it was movie night and Bellamy’s choice.

It’s a little tradition Bellamy and Clarke have established. Once a week (usually more often), Bellamy will come over and they’ll watch one of the tens of thousands of movies the Eligius III crew had stored to preserve human culture.

The first night, they’d put on some forgettable movie and Clarke sat next to Bellamy, his arm slung across the back of the sofa. She could feel the heat of his arm against her neck, and she felt safe.

An Enchantment in the Light [a Bellarke Hurt/Comfort AU for @bellarkebingo​ – Tropes: Teacher!Bellamy, Slow Burn | Rated: M | Status: WIP]

Clarke Griffin comes home to heal after a failed attempt at making her own path in life and even more failed romantic relationships. She arrives expecting the small New England fishing town of Arkadia to be the exact same, and in some ways it is. But the disappearance of Octavia Blake is a reflection of brewing struggles in the community and it still haunts the people living there –– namely Octavia’s older brother, Bellamy. 

Clarke and Bellamy haven’t spoken in years, but he proves to be a good distraction for her during this time and slowly they’re able to find a way to heal together. She just can’t help it if she falls in love with him along the way.

Finally, the static on the screen cleared and instead they all saw—well, mostly smoke at first. But as the drone flew closer and the smoke cleared, it became clear that it was in fact some sort of a dropship that must’ve only just landed – right in the middle of the forest inhabited by the Outsiders. Clarke swallowed thickly and blinked a few times, not believing her eyes. She could hear murmurs all around the room but they all turned into shouts when the doors of the ship opened and probably about a hundred kids ran outside, screaming their lungs out.

Fic Summary:

The reluctant prince. The scholar. Prince Bellamy knows his reputation amongst the court of Arkadia and why he’s a hard sell for Advisor Kane in his desperate attempt to find him a suitable wife. So he’s not sure why he thinks Princess Clarke will be any different than the last rejections. In fact, they get off to an even worse start than the other ladies, with the two of them constantly bickering with each other. But when his life is suddenly turned upside down and Bellamy has to become king sooner than he expected, Clarke might be the only constant in his life. And now his bride.

While the revelation that he was in love with Clarke was new, Bellamy quickly realized how little it actually changed their relationship. How natural it already had been.

His queen was already a force to be reckoned with in council meetings and they still operated in unity. He didn’t know how else to convey to her how much he trusted her other than helping her have a say in the land he held so dearly. And seeing her treat it with the respect that he did, showing a love for it more than he could have hoped for, did more to his heart than he would have expected. When it had been proposed that he would enter into marriage, at best he’d hoped for someone he could tolerate. Someone who wouldn’t mind that the king preferred the company of books to people and would learn to at least not hate the cold and isolated land he ruled over.

But instead he married someone who was his equal.

As he continued to find himself falling for her more and more each day, Bellamy showed it in the only way he knew how without words. Continuing to give her more responsibility where he could, striking an even greater balance between their roles as king and queen. 

They even spent the same amount of time in the library together when their royal duties eased up –– though maybe that was where he found himself at his weakest around her. It was difficult to not succumb to the privacy that the library granted them, the intimacy of being alone. It took every ounce of strength he had to not act on it, let his hand linger on her back as he’d pass her to get another book. The texture of the satin fabric catching on his hand as if it was begging him to do it. To grab a hold of her and show her how much he felt for her.

There would be moments he’d feel emboldened to do it. Remembering the feel of his thumb against her lips at the wedding ceremony and the way she had looked at him. The way she had captured his likeness with such a carefulness and attention to detail that made him realize how much she understood every plane of his face. 

Another time he felt like he had a glimmer of hope of reciprocated feelings was the day when he brought the orphanage to the castle. 

Madi, the young girl from the village, had taken to Clarke just as well as she had when they’d been in the shop. The day had been a flurry of poorly, but excitedly executed bows and curtseys from the children, all unsure of how to interact with royalty. Kane had set the children up to have a large lunch, most likely larger than they’d ever had before. Bellamy and Clarke met with the woman who ran it, discussing where funds were lacking and how the royal family could assist. And then at one point when he’d been helping one of the littlest children get a book from the library, he’d noticed Clarke staring at him in a way that was very much not platonically. At one point a few years ago, his mother had teased him that women loved to see men with children and he’d brushed the comment away. Now however he was very pleased with the reality of that statement, at least in regards to his wife.

The only thing that held him back was the fear of ruining the balance between them. In so much of his life he’d been the one to make the first move in anything, always the leading factor on decisions. But something about Clarke made him want to see if she would take the reins of the situation. He just wasn’t sure how to initiate the idea of it to her to see what would happen.

And then he nearly died and that seemed to do the trick.

Clarke Griffin has it all. She’s popular, an artistic prodigy and has a wealthy family to boot. So when her perfect world comes crashing down around her, it’s time to sink or swim.

She tests positive for the Homicidal Tendency Syndrome gene, also known as the kill gene. Clarke is plucked from her comfortable life and placed into a school with people just like her - carriers, delinquents.

When she meets Bellamy Blake there, he looks like everything they say HTS carriers are. A monster, a criminal. Yet, he’s the one who protects her.

Clarke thinks existing in this school is the hardest thing they’ll have to do, but as the outside world falls into chaos, she soon learns that things can always get worse. At Mount Weather training camp, they’re made perform certain tasks that make them question who they are - make them wonder if they really are as evil as the world accuses them of being.

At least she has Bellamy. Clarke isn’t sure how they are supposed to be these violent monsters when they can do something so human, like fall in love with one another.

The t100 Writers for BLM Initiative Donation Celebration

THE GOOD NEWS

The team set a goal of raising $2,000 by the series finale, and because our writers, creators, and readers are incredible, we’ve already managed to surpass that! A big thank you to all those who have donated & submitted prompts. 

THE BETTER NEWS

We decided that we want to keep this momentum moving forward and do something fun for our readers at the same time - and so, the t100 Writers for BLM Initiative will be hosting a donation celebration if we reach our new goal of $2,500 by the series finale.

CELEBRATION GUIDELINES & TIMELINE

From August 25th through September 30th, for every new prompt we receive for $5 or more, the prompter will have the opportunity to provide theme & trope suggestions they would like to see writers utilize in their fics.

After September 30th, if our goal of $2,500 is met, the team will compile a list of all the themes and tropes submitted by prompters and send a link to a second survey where prompt submitters can vote for their top 3 themes and top 8 tropes. 

From October 1st - 7th, via the survey, prompters will be able to vote for their favorite themes & tropes from a list consisting of all the themes & tropes submitted by the prompters. 

From October 8th - 14th, the team will select the top 3 themes and top 8 tropes as voted by the prompters and provide them to the writers. The writers will choose 1 theme and 4 tropes to write a story for their selected ship. 

From October 15th - 18th, content creators will review the story ideas and select a story they want to create artwork for. 

From November 29th - December 5th, writers and creators will post the stories of at least 3k words and the corresponding art. The publications will be spread out throughout the week so that there is an entire week of continuous new content.
