I enjoyed the last three episodes way more than this one. In fact, I’d say this episode acted as a “fluffer” (filler) for the last two episodes of the season. It provided a bit of a warm up for what’s to come…the real drama.

Tom Verica posted the Vermont countertop in a future episode...so either they go back for a visit OR more than likely we get a flashback to those conversations not shown.

I often feel there's so much of each episode of Scandal that's left in the editing room; felt it most especially in 312, scenes were disjointed, compressed and left without much closure or sequence. 311 and 313 felt better in that regard. However, in the fandom there's a need to see every conversation, every move made by characters to believe that it has or could've happened, which is just not possible. Case in point obviously a lot more was talked about in Vermont than just the house and Eli.

Scandal’s editing decisions are always…interesting. Folks are still mad about the victory kiss from 213 being relegated to the S2 DVD. I’m glad you brought up the last bit. I saw a thread about the missing Vermont scene, which, didn’t bother me. I was too busy enjoying that fact that Olitz has been steadily tightening their communication game over this third season, and making progress in that regard. And hey, teamwork makes the dream work. Anyway…Olivia and Fitz making reference to the conversation they had in Vermont was more than enough, and it reminds us that they have moments together and more to their relationship that simply what we see on camera. There isn’t time to have all of those moments on screen as much as we would love to have each and every moment. 

There’ s a difference between necessary ideal. I don’t think it was necessary for the audience to have been privy to the exact Vermont scene. We can instead imagine how many orgasms it too before they had that bit of chit chat. I know folks disagree, but…whatevs. The story keeps rolling.

I kind of liked her sleeping with Jake (and I am glad it was implied and off screen). This event makes me wonder if the "no secrets" from Vermont will hold OR is that just a "no secrets" in the political realm?

What the hell was this? First: I think it was totally OC for Livvie Second: it only show that there’s nothing between Liv and Jake. She could have said “have sex with me” or even (hum hum) “make love to me” but the latter imply love (might be difficult bc she doesn’t love him). And the worse...

I love it when the show title is said during the episode! What an amazing moment it is each week. This week was especially good.

I could deal with Deacon with someone else, but I see zero chemistry with him and the actress playing Megan. I find myself just trying to look away when they are on screen. I think Nashville casting missed the mark.
