“Women and girl (and a dog) posing before the photographer [France, pre-1914]

Thanks to one of the collectors on Flickr I can present this pre-1914 picture. This is picture of #in 169 of this professional photographer, who did business in the wake of the aviation craziness in France during the pre-war years. Here two women and a girl (with a dog) are on the picture, sitting in a home made monoplane which was likely just made for this purpose.

You can see that the engine is a wooden substutute.

Given the height of the fuselage the womenmust have climbed in and out with thehelp of a ladder (not visible here).”

A late Victorian enamel and diamond orchid brooch, the finely modelled petals in shaded pink and green opalescent enamel, entwined amongst a diamond-set foliate background, set in silver to a yellow gold mount, with brooch and pendant fittings, measuring approximately 4x1.5cm, gross weight 7.3 grams, circa 1890
