beans? 👀
There’s a really neat looking bean called Dragon Tongue beans! They’re light yellow and streaked with purple & I guess with that coupled with their long and flat shape they reminded people of dragon tongues! Isn’t that neat!

Do beans really make you fart?
What's your favorite bean? Mine is baked beans
It depends on the type of bean but yup, they do!
Several edible beans such as broad, navy, kidney beans, and soybeans, contain oligosaccharides (particularly raffinose and stachyose), a sugar molecule also found in cabbage. A normal human digestive tract doesn’t contain the anti-oliogosaccharide enzymes needed to properly digest these sugar molecules. As a result, the digestion produces gasses such as methane as a byproduct which causes you to fart.
Your favorite bean is baked beans? Good choice, you can never go wrong with baked beans. I particularly enjoy sugar snap peas! They’re a very tasty & healthy snack to munch on during a warm day.

Hello, my dearest. In honor of Markiplier's new chaotic video, could you tell me about the green beans? Thank you in advance. -[̶̡͕͊̂̈̕R̷̮̍͋́Ë̷̳͇̲͕͉̫͍̻̰́̈́̈̂̑̍̾̀̎̿̏͋̚͜D̵̟̐͌̔̆͗̑͆̀̆͂̊͒̕͠͝A̷̙͎͍͙̫̜̘̣̙͊C̵̨̮͙͖̼̀̄̏̀͑̈͛͝T̶̢̙̝͍͈͈̩̞̲̜̄̑̾̈́̋̋͛̀̽̋̚̕͘͠Ȩ̸̂̓̏̾͋̾D̵̠̘͐̅̾̒̀͋̑̓͛͑]̸̡̛̬͕̗̭̤̈́̅̿̏̔̇̽͌
I Absolutley can!
Green beans contain twice the amount of iron compared to spinach!
Beans beans are Very good for your heart! Green beans contain high amounts of calcium and polyphenolic antioxidants which have big time anti-inflammatory properties that help prevent blood clots from forming in the arteries & veins.
Green beans are rich in lutein and zeaxanthin which help maintain good eyesight and night vision!
They’re good for your bones! Green beans are abundant in Vitamin K, which activates osteocalcin, the main non-collagen protein found in bones. Osteocalcin locks calcium molecules together inside bone, which strengthens them from within!
Green Giant! Tasty and Good For Your Health!

Okay, since I couldn't find any literature from 721 BCE mentioning pulses, so I looked into archeological records.
It took about 6 hours.
Apparently it's very difficult to find archeological records of found beans in the late eighth century and since carbon dating gets less accurate the further you go back, I had to settle with pulses that dated to the Iron Age/ the first millennium BCE.
And after those six hours of researching, I finally found information that I could back up with multiple sources to verify it was true. So here it is:
Plant remains were found in the storerooms of the Yoncatepe palace, an Urartian settlement situated in the Van province of eastern Turkey that dates back to the Iron Age period. Among the items in these storage rooms were pulses that include lentils, chickpeas, and bitter vetch.
give me a time period and i’ll give you a bean fact???
uuuh, oki, um...
721 bc??

How do you feel about root nodules in legumes?
I think they’re very neat despite them looking kinda weird. They provide a home for symbiotic nitrogen-fixing bacteria called rhizobia.
Rhizoba captures nitrogen gas from the atmosphere and converts it into ammonia which is then used to make amino acids and nucleotides.
The root nodules are sometimes taken advantage of and in some traditional farming pratices are used in a rotating crop pattern to put nitrogen back into the soil and fertilize it. Which I think is very neat!

Introducing one of my favorite non-edible beans of all time: the Castor Bean.
Castor Beans contain the poison ricin and are quite deadly in extremely small amounts! it can take only 1-2 seeds to kill a child and up to roughly 8 to kill an adult.
I think they’re neat : )

gimme that sweet sweet lore of yours
Lore: A body of knowledge on a subject held by a particular group, typically passed from person to person by word of mouth.
That’s quite a fitting I suppose, I do know a lot about beans afterall. Though I do suppose you’re asking for a bean fact so:
Pre-Black Death, laborers weren’t accustomed to wheat bread, our bread was usually made of beans or of other corn. During the Black Death, as the elite suffered & the laborers died off, there was an increased demand for labor. Our wages rose and we were able to demand better food than bread, oatmeal, thin ale, and little meat. It was amazing! We were able to eat beef and mutton almost if not more often than bacon and fresh instead of salted fish! The rich complained and whined Constantly about how “greedy” we were to demand for fresh flesh and bread made of wheat instead of bread made of beans. Don’t get me wrong, I love beans. But you get sick of a food if you eat it nearly every day for roughly 135 years.

Do u like playing mancala? :0c
I do! It’s quite a shame that William Champion chose to use beads instead of beans for the counters when he made the US variation of the game in the 1940s :(
