I have cut the skirt’s master draft and I added 1cm seam allowance in to it, for the bottom 3D part I decided to use a sleeve’s pattern it will give me a 3D effect. I have printed in 2 size as I am going to make a baby skirt, I will use the bigger one to make a baby skirt and the small for my adult skirt.

I did some illustration related to my project I used the same design. I added the 3D part at the end of my skirt. The colour I chose for my skirt is inspired by black on black exhibition.

After machine work I decided to work by using 3D technique, I used gauge wire for my design and to fill the gaps in wings part I used hot glue. In the second work I used fabric and I decided to put 3 wings in each circle but for my final one I will use 2 wings in the middle circle, I used felt, velvet and sequence fabric. I am happy with design and I will use the same design for my project.

I used pencil drawing to draw a final design for my project I really like it because I believe it will look very unique and unusual. I did some machine work too to get some ideas.

I photocopied my work in A4 size and cut into half to get the half orange shape, I then used 2 different fabrics I do like this piece of work because the sequence fabric gives a eye arching shine in my work.

I printed the window picture on an acetate sheet in black and white, I then cut the acetate into half to get the orange shape and used embroidery technique to get some more ideas for my project. I printed half orange shape and used machine to make collage piece, I used different fabrics in different colours and I also used free foot on the edges.

After working on big scale with colours, I did this piece of work on big scale too, I used the same technique ‘continues pencil drawing’. After I photocopied my work in A4 size, I cut some of these circles into half they look alike half orange to me, I then sticked them in different designed to get inspiration for my project.

After my primary research I worked on a big scale, I used continues pencil lines drawing technique for this piece of work. I have highlighted some part of this drawing in different colours to get the 3D effect.

I did some primary research in Ancoats and I found this interesting gothic style window, and then I made my colour pallet out of this picture.
