Of all the women who have come forward with sexual assault accusations against him, for some reason Harvey Weinstein has decided that disputing Lupita Nyong’o was really important.
Lupita’s testimony is an important part of the #MeToo discussions. We should all support and believe Lupita.
Please read Lupita’s article about her encounter with Weinstein, here: https://www.nytimes.com/2017/10/19/opinion/lupita-nyongo-harvey-weinstein.html

I’ve watched the video. Cops were trying to arrest Eric Harris for illegal trade of firearms (I’m not standing for this, okay?). Harris tried to flee but cops chased him and started handcuffing Harris while he was on the ground. At this moment Robert Bates pulled his gun and murdered Harris in a cold blood. He said he was thinking it was a Taser. Now this bitch is about to be freed from prison after serving half of the 4 year sentence.

He could’ve been in a $2K suit and she still would have taken issue with something.

The belief that Black and Latino are mutually exclusive is a harsh, hurtful blanket assumption that blatantly dismisses the Afro-Latino identity.
In this installment of ‪#‎DefineBLACK‬, Angeley Crawford shares her experience growing up Costa Rican in pre-hipster Bushwick, BK and the otherness that came with it.

GAINESVILLE, Fla. — Amid the heavy presence of police on the University of Florida campus, white nationalist leader Richard Spencer got heckled for more than 30 minutes Thursday afternoon as he tried to deliver remarks and answer questions in front of a crowd of mostly protesters.
Local and state law enforcement authorities largely kept the peace and prevented protesters and Spencer supporters from a repeat of the violent clashes witnessed in August in Charlottesville, Va.
It’s not clear Spencer ever got the chance to even start his scripted speech before the UF crowd because so many protesters repeatedly told him and his allies to “go home” and chanted, “Say it loud, say it clear, Nazis are not welcome here.”
Spencer responded by telling them that he wasn’t going home, and called their response “pathetic” and childish for refusing to engage him in debate. He argued they were giving him and his white nationalist movement ammunition by shouting him down.

In response to #MeToo, “listening and learning” emerges as the “thoughts and prayers” of social justice movements
We stumbled into a reckoning. It had been a regular staff meeting — standard announcements, small talk, and project updates— until we began discussing the results of the 2016 presidential election. My fellow white coworkers and I bemoaned the state of the nation. What went wrong? How did we get here? And why didn’t we see it coming?
After many long minutes of shock from a chorus of white voices, a colleague of color chimed in. “We did see it coming,” she said. “We saw it coming in our work. We saw it coming in our country. We told you. You just didn’t listen.”
There was a long silence. I felt my stomach collapse in on itself, the telltale sign I was hearing a terrible truth about myself. She was right.
“Black women don’t get to be surprised. We don’t get to be exhausted or ‘woe is me’ or any of it. We’ve been here a long time. So, I guess, welcome, but what took you so long?”

Black girls deserve to learn free from bias and stereotypes.
Most black girls experience this hatred at schools. And classmates are not the only problem, there is no support from teachers, too. That’s why they get so affected by their school experiences. Black kids deserve to be treated just like everybody else, they want to study, they want to learn something ,too. However due to prejudice they are 5 times more likely to be suspended than their white peers and it can ruin their lives forever.  National Women’s Law Center created this video to change the situation. Join the movement to help black girls feel normal and get the same opportunities everybody else has.
