Hiatus;; Kaguya returns to the moon
Hey guys, as you can see I haven’t been active in a while; being busy with school and having lost the muse are the two main reasons. And even after I finished school, her muse hasn’t come back, so Kaguya’s going back to the moon until I can get her back again. This may or may not be a permanent hiatus, unfortunately!

mischievous...
The calls continued to echo throughout the forest, as if the forest were breathing the voice through life itself, were making her father known to her. Even so, the child did not quite understand she was to follow such a voice, to return at a time not of her own choosing.
But she listened to the wolf. Her heart listened, and without thinking, those little hands and little arms and little legs squeezed and held onto the wolf, held onto the sun, soaked in the warmth.
the stones at home were serious. they didn't like me leaving. but they still let me cross them.
of course, if you wander in so far i will be here, as i always am.
they tried mapping from where the sun kisses the earth. names and numbers meant nothing however, crumbled inside mouths before falling back into dirt. answers slept within wood, water and salt where only spirits lie covered in milky silks. little fingers knew their presence belonging to those deep forests more akin to an abyss, rose-tinted cheeks knew the folk songs were true. red gates settle beside the foot of the mountain fathering heavy clouds, presenting the gateway into the gods ( silent but existing ).
she heard it too. a parents plea caught by hillside passes then carried by the local breezes before landing onto pale ears. there were no gruesome creatures here, only humble tree spirits looming upwards with their gazing eyes. the lupine’s thick pelt pressed further onto another, her limbs settled, her tail thumping. what would old wives say of the white wolf? both messenger and stranger. a friend first however, she nods at the little one.
the forest can be mischievous. you must keep close to my fur, curl up to my heel.

Would I be able to return? Would I be able to be amongst the trees, the flowers, the bugs, once more? The wolf's warm snout pressed to her cheek drew out her grin, wide as it can be, and the child reciprocated, rubbing her cheek as if she herself had a dog's muzzle. If the world went her way, she would have had one. She would have had whatever was needed in the world. She'd have had the wings of a hawk flying past, the fins of a fish in the streams, the hooves of the deer to leap through the bush and disappear from sight.
But all she had were her hands, her little nose, her chubby legs. That was still fine, that was fine enough for her.
She also had ears. Ears which heard off in the distance a cry from the man who had held her in his hands and then, his arms.
「ひめ――!」He called out, a worry in his voice, a worry foreign to her. 「ひめ―――!」
What did she know of returning the call? How young she was, not even knowing why he would be calling for her. She was simply with nature, she was simply with an old friend. Why would he call for her so?
Would you find me at my home, fly past the white and the grey, and take me?
”ruff! ruff!"
oh but we can always meet again.
small hands fumble through her white pelt, as if it were pressing softly against long grass nearer the riverbank filtered with dusklight. two fingers skin across one crimson flicker near lupine shoulders, no longer squared from travel. playful barks consume the air after giggles; promised in bliss and sweet in nostalgia. what of those days amaterasu spends lain beneath gold. no, she understands. a nuzzle hereafter plants itself against the child’s cheek.
i am good at finding people, you know. this life or the next, i will be the same.

「姫。」― What a sight! A gasp fell past her lips before she could help herself, her eyes growing wide as plates. Never in her life on Earth had she seen such a thing, something beyond the nature and its soil. Nothing beyond the humble tools of man.
How could someone, capable of such a thing, seem so familiar?
"Are--are you of the gods?" she stammered, eyes planted upon that palm and its stars, unable to look away.
{— ╰☆╮ —} The young goddess stared at the girl silently, unable to verbalize anything as of yet. She pulled her hand out and showed the young girl dancing stars on her palm. The star goddess might’ve encountered the girl once before, but she wasn’t sure. All she knew that this young girl had a different energy from any other human. Perhaps…she wasn’t

I am not brave, only selfish. But I do not regret seeing you.
The girl decided that her new friend would be climbable, and doesn't hesitate to pull herself on the white wolf's back, spreading herself flat on her as if she were laying on the grass, her giggles muffled, absorbed by warm, heavenly fur. Her content sigh was equally heavenly, relieved, joyful.
My time here is brief; short. I fear I shall be here for a split second and be returned to my old lands. But I wish to stay with you. I wish to stay.
”arf! arf!"
you speak sweetly.
she yaps again, unable to hold the joy flourished so sweetly near her heart. it is never nothing, it is always something; blooming and growing. flush stains from the little one’s fingertips may stain her wild fur coat but amaterasu needn’t flinch nor quake. acting off another’s laughter by the stretch of her tail and patter of her paws. she wishes to protect this laughter, this spout of soft giggles from smiling lips and plump cheeks. lifetimes warp into water, they become streams flowing outward before eventually filling the ocean full.
yes, you’ve surely known me before i am as old as those songs. you are brave, brave to wander here and see me.

「姫。」― "I feel as if I know you from somewhere, like you and I once knew one another. As if we were closer, like neighbours."
Once again, the thoughts that were not quite memories seep into the young girl's mind. Of a life much, much closer to the dark sky. Of a life amongst the white and the black. Of a life amongst the stars.

The child let out a burst of laughter, white snout tickling her skin, and with her own berries gone and eaten already, for they were hard to resist, that girl threw her light little frame onto the wolf's side, wrapping her arms around the neck, with more giggles. More giggles, more warmth, more love. Accepting the world around her as it was, and relishing it, that was how she lived, that was how each day passed, and the wolf was new and yet familiar and that must have been what love was, wasn't it? There was another who came to seek you before. I had heard her song, and longed to know what she did. I longed to find you, to know you, to see you.
“ruff! ruff!"
yes!
solitude always seemed so empty, barely meeting the edges of the forest. her barks positively beam fulfillment like light escaping grey throws belonging to clouds. light emits from the wolf and they’d be blind not to see; when does the peddler throw away sunlight? never, less they be cursed. amaterasu leans closer so much her snout rubs onto a plump cheek, ears high and tail swaying. it is a wolf’s method in saying ‘thank you’.
you remind me of another tale, but it never quite felt like a tale at all. more like a memory.

"...Oh--well I hadn't thought that the Queen could make mistakes before, but I guess anyone can, huh? Though I think it didn't end up being too bad of one; things are better now aren't they?"
"I did, yes. And it wasn’t a very wise decision, on my part. I hadn’t been thinking clearly… Like I said, it’s better to go with someone experienced."

Conversation
Fruits Basket {Sentence Starters}
"When the snow melts... what does it become?"
"I only hit you because I thought you were a stalker!"
"Stop fantasizing and get a life."
"I'm not going to be on your side, but I won't be your enemy, either."
"I'm acting like a spoiled brat... it's pathetic."
"Make this worth my time."
"Why are you standing before a grave with such feelings of regret?"
"Do you really get that much enjoyment from playing with people's lives?!"
"Man, your persuasive skills SUCK!"
"Why won't you say anything?"
"When are you going to learn... you're too weak!"
"Don't ever speak to me again."
"If you act like an idiot, it causes problems for me."
"I can't even stand to look at you!"
"Just say it. I'll listen to your problems..."
"I won't stop until I defeat you!"
"You being level-headed would be creepy."
"Why is it so easy to turn bad?"
"I'll never... forgive you."
"You can't fix what's been so badly broken."
"I'm fine... it's just a little cut."
"Are you blaming me for that? Maybe... I want you to blame me."

She had the urge to smush all the raspberries in her mouth at once to fill her cheeks like a squirrel. But she managed to hold back a little, instead popping only two at a time. Quite an accomplishment.
Another set of giggles left the girl's berry-filled mouth at the bark.
"You like it, huh? I do too!"
Her free hand felt the soft white, the feeling comforting and warm, much like the sun's rays on her face. And somewhere in her heart, a part of her heard the voice, and reciprocated.
Never. Not when they are of you, not when I yearned to be among them for so long.
she can trace the mumbled voices of the wood on colourful sleeves, of the dirt and pollen smudged on small fingers. furry jaws do not hesitate to gulp down those red berries, so plump from the touch of dawn and victim of the wolf’s hunger. younger palms could never bruise or snatch. they’d never tug too tightly on white furs that are so warm and bright. her tail twitches slightly, so fondly curling beside the little one’s frame.
and underneath pale light a child might even catch a voice near the distance.
you wander these trees alone. you were never afraid were you?
”ruff!”

Quote
Hayao Miyazaki was asked once during an interview what was the difference between his style of animation and animation in the West. He thought about it for a moment and then began to rhythmically clap his hands as he answered. “When I clap my hands,” he said, “you hear the sound of the clap. You don’t hear what is in between the sound of the clap. In Japan, we have a name for what is in between the sound of the clap. We call it ma like ‘ma-ma.’” Miyazaki continued speaking, while clapping slowly: “Western animators are afraid of ma. They think you have to keep making the sound of the clap, or you will lose your audience. I disagree; I think if you fill ma with thinking, emotion and intention, you will not lose your audience.”

"Well, I wouldn't be with the animals, would I?---Oh, but, didn't you go up to the mountains alone, Miss Queen?"
"They can be, if you’re unfamiliar with the landscape. I wouldn’t recommend going to the mountains alone."

"Not for anything of common sense, unfortunately. I can never seem to pinpoint the reason other than perhaps a touch of déja vu, I'm afraid. But it is alright, I get by well enough----and no, you aren't distracting me. It will be a while before the bus should come and have me leave the café."
⌠➽⌡— ”Anxious? I hope that’s not for any tangible reason. I’d say it’s reasonable to be wary of it, but if it’s affecting you so badly I’d hardly think it’s healthy.” He curtly stoops his head. “I hope I’m not distracting you from your trip, in any case. It seems I find the weather fascinating when I’m otherwise unoccupied.”
