name one native american intellectual off the top of your head, name one native american actor or actress off the top of your head, name one native american senator, one native american news anchor, or an author or a tv personality or a singer or a poet or a comedian, name a single native american teacher you’ve had, can you? probably not
ok so now think of one native american cartoon character you know of or a sports team relating to native americans whether it’s their actual name or their team logo, or a town you live in or near with a “native” name bet a lot of these things came to you right away i bet you didn’t even have to think
needing native representation in media, education and government are not decoy issues, the commercialization and appropriation of native cultures are not decoy issues, the lack of native representation is institutional oppression at work

So y’all can get 47+ notes on my black representation in animes posts but where’s that same attention at when I talk about white privilege and BLM?
So I feel like people just aren’t grasping the concept of the Black Lives Matter Movement. All lives matter? Yeah that’s true, BUT people didn’t start saying all lives matter UNTIL AFTER the Black Lives Matter Movement became an active protest.
People are using all lives matter as a rebuttal to counter and overshadow BLM which is why so many people have a problem with that saying.
People aren’t saying that your life doesn’t matter because you’re not black, they’re saying that black lives do not equal entitled white feelings and racist beliefs. They’re saying that black lives need to be protected because black lives are the most at danger because they’re so highly targeted racially.
White people dont experience racial police brutality in the way poc and black people do, they don’t face the same punishments that poc and black people do. You cannot oppress or be racist to white people in America due to the fact that the American system is built in a way where the white race will always be at the top of the hierarchy and poc minorities will be below them.
And just so you know, being not racist is not the same as being anti-racist :) you don’t have to do anything extravagant and participate in physical protests or riots; edcuating yourself+others, spreading awareness, and speaking up on racial social topics are good too.
Also, choosing to watch racial issues happen and doing nothing about it makes you just as bad as the oppressors. You might not be involved firsthand, but if you choose to stay silent in times like that, you’re not helping either; it’s like you watching somebody bully somebody else and not saying or doing anything.
And if you refuse to believe that white privilege is a thing, you’re ignorant and part of the problem. White privilege doesn’t mean that you don’t experience struggle, white privilege means that the struggles you face doesn’t have to do with the complexion of your skin and or your race.
And ofc white people aren’t the only ones to blame. There’s obvious proof of colorism, racism, prejudices, micro-aggression, etc. due to white supremacy and white beliefs forced onto them.
Multiple countries in Asia do use skin whitening soaps and do cultural appropriation with black protective hairstyle. Many Central and South American countries are also racist and colorist towards black people or just darker people in general and many Afro-Latinos refuse to claim their black side.
There’s good and bad in every race and it’s not right to generalize groups of people just because of a hand full of individuals. One person doesn’t represent a whole people and there’s nothing wrong with the skin, hair, heritage, culture, etc. you’re born with. It’s what you decide to do and say as who you are as an individual.
#bambi talks#blm#pro blm#pro black#black lives movement#black lives matter#white privilege is real you entitled ass mfs

Okay this is just something I gotta get off my chest cause I’ve been holding it in for a while, and it’s not bad for once, it’s actually a really good thing.
So the topic of this is HOW ANIMES PORTRAY BLACK CHARACTERS.
So first of all, I am asian. I’m Filipina and Korean, and it’s obvious colorism and racism is an issue within the Asian community. I grew up in the Philippines with a Filipino family and they’re all very brown skinned, I’m actually the lightest in my family but that’s because of my korean side and I myself have faced colorism from my own mom.
So I’ve been watching anime since I was little, and it seems like there’s always been an issue with how animes portray black characters.
FOR EXAMPLE, Mr. Popo from Dragon Ball. I didn’t even know he was supposed to be a black character until I was 12. Now I don’t know y’all portray this, but it’s obviously linked to blackface which is a form of racism and if you try to tell me otherwise you can kiss my ass cause Dragon Ball has mad racist views in the series which is just one of the reasons why Naruto is better.
I’m not even gonna get started on how worldwide beauty standards are based on Europeanized features cause we’re gonna be here forever. But it’s a racial stereotype that people with Africanized features have overly large lips, very large/flat/wide noses, and very dark skin and many animes actually use that description and sometimes even exaggerate them even more.
Which comes my main point on why I bring up Aran. ARAN IS CLEARLY A BLACK CHARACTER, BUT YOU CAN SEE THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN ARAN AND MR. POPO.
Aran has Africanized features, but they’re not overly exaggerated. Though does have bigger lips, it’s not overdone to where it’s insulting, his nose isn’t as pointy as other characters in Haikyuu, AAAND PEEP HOW THE PALM OF HIS HANDS ARE LIGHTER THAN THE REST OF HIS BODY. Everybody say thank you Furudate for the attention of detail :>
Another black character I love is Atsuko from Michiko e Hatchin. She’s another great example of a black anime character that isn’t racially stereotyped. If anything, her appearance shows a little more diversity cause she has blonde hair because for whatever reason, it’s hard to believe that black folks can naturally have blonde hair.
Also her hair texture, instead of her hair being straight like most non-asian but poc characters showing they’re racially ambiguous, she has a hair type that many black people have.
There’s so many more things I wanna say but when I actually started thinking about each individual thought, it was like they were all escaping my brain as I tried to touch up on it...... so this is all I got as of right now😔

GIVE US !!! FLOWERSHOP AU !!! WITH TENDOU !!! smth with “sir, this is a flower shop” thrown in there idkidkidk
It’s hard not to immediately spot the scarlet haired man who seemed to tower over the shelves and tips of plants, spiky tipped locks almost blending in with the foliage.
He’s been frequenting your shop ever since moving in next door as an employee at his friend’s tattoo parlor as he told you, striking up conversations with customers, workers, and you alike, helping reach the higher positioned plants with ease, and browsing the pots with interest.
You pay attention to his presence as you work, just enough to hear him ask your newest hire a question.
“Do you guys sell weed plants?”
“Sir, this is a flower shop.” Your younger coworker looks extremely flustered as you step in quickly with part amusement and part pity, and they give you a grateful look before scurrying away.
“Back again? Don’t you have anything better to do than come over to this shop and tease the new workers?” Your hands are on your hips, and Tendou laughs.
“Someone sounds jealous. Don’t worry, you’re still my favourite to tease. Plus,” he adds on, toying with one of the broad leaves of a plant next to him gently. “I’m on my lunch break.”
He follows you back to the counter as you shake your head with a breathless chuckle, and he pulls up a stool, propping his chin on his hands as he rests his elbows on the surface, watching as you arrange a bouquet.
“What’s that for?”
“An order for a customer.”
“It’s pretty.” He hums, and you smile, ignoring the flutter in your chest.
“Thank you.”
“Hey, can I ask you something?” He pipes up after a few moments of silence, gently kicking his feet against the spindles. You raise your eyebrows at him interestedly, and he grins.
“Do you, maybe wanna, go out sometime?”
It suddenly hits you that this is why he’s been loitering around your shop, and he looks embarrassed at the exposure, rubbing the back of his neck awkwardly, but not as much as you, a flush covering your features.
“I’d like that a lot, yeah.”

Suna?....... as a stripper?..... it’s a concept😌
serendipity // part iv of masque // masterlist
osamu deserves better 2k20 lads
“She has a condition, seriously?”
“In my defence, you were playin’ the part perfectly,”
“Fuck you, Miya,” you spit out. Osamu fixes you with a nauseated face but chooses not to say anything, preferring to continue flipping through the bulky business textbook he had in-hand. Your shift at the shoe store you work at had been cancelled due to your boss having a last minute family emergency so you had decided to call Osamu in for a study session for a quiz you both had. Osamu, who didn’t have shift at Aroma that day, claimed to have nothing better to do and reluctantly accepted your proposal.
“Shit,” Osamu raised his head to look at you, a brow raised in question.
“Ren’s on my case again, wants me to choose an outfit for her party tonight,” you reply, eyes not lifting from your phone which had Ren’s message written in caps lock.
“Oh,” you look up guiltily.
“Sorry, man, maybe another time?” you apologise, feeling bad for taking up Osamu’s time like this. The man in question looked unaffected, waving you off lazily with a hand.
“Don’t worry ‘bout it. Maybe now I can finally study in peace. ‘Yer behemoth like breathin’ was throwin’ me off anyway,” you scowled.
“Okay, bye then dickwad,”
“Later, idiot.”
“I’m not wearing that,” you comment dryly, eyeing the too-tight garment Ren had picked out eagerly.
“Why? It’ll make you look hot for once,”
“If I try to wear it, I’ll rip it,” you answer, glancing back at your phone as you swipe through your Instagram feed. Ren frowns, deadpanning.
“Well, you can’t wear an astronaut suit if that’s what you’re going for,” she snaps, hands on her hips with a brow raised.
“I just don’t wanna look like I belong in a Miley Cyrus music video,” you defend, a hint of agitation in your voice.
“Okay, fine, how about this?” Ren holds up a short black dress, a bored expression on her face. You make grabby hands towards it and Ren hands it, opting to be disgusted by your childlike demeanor. You scrutinise it for a minute before nodding in approval.
“Yeah, this is fine,” Ren rolls her eyes.
“Okay, get off your lazy ass then, we have to get ready and Takata-chan offered to lend us her limo!” you whistle lowly.
“And you still have the audacity to say she isn’t whipped for you,” Ren’s face turns a shade of red, “People don’t offer their limo and pay for the entrance fee for just a friend y’know.”
Ren whips around with narrowed eyes.
“Shut up, you’ve been pining over a dude for two years and when you finally did get to talk to him, you made him think you were mentally unstable. You have no place to talk,” Ren jibes. You shrug.
“I just think he’s neat,”
“Get ready or i’ll decide that you should walk to the club!”
Being seated in between Ren and another girl you were unfamiliar with was awkward to say the least. In order to not look completely antisocial, you held a decent conversation with a girl you recognised in your business class but that died down quickly and now you were stuck awkwardly scrolling through your and Osamu’s previous messages. He informed you that he has to go watch Atsumu’s match with his college team. You tell him to enjoy himself and to let Atsumu know that you missed his dumb blonde ass. Soon enough, the limo comes to a halt. You briefly recount Ren profusely thanking Kimiko Takata before stepping out of the limo. A chatter sparks between the group of girls and in a futile attempt, you try to keep up with the conversation. After showing off your ID to the bouncers, you step inside reluctantly with a tug on the arm, courtesy of Ren.
Blinking a few times, you try to adjust to the harsh lighting of the strobe lights. Bass-boosted music played from the speakers, effectively deafening you from Ren’s voice. You scan the space. Many people were at the men’s strip club, woman mostly, but you’ve seen a number of men enjoying the show too. A hand grabs your wrist and you abruptly turn to see Ren.
“C’mon, we found a table. It has a good view of the dancers and a little less crowded,” she yells over the music. You nod, opting not to lose your voice so early into the night. Making your way to the table, you take a seat next to a girl you recall being Sasaki Akane. Everyone launches into a conversation about celebrity discourse, you commenting where you see fit as you eyed some of the dancers on stage. Drinks then came along and you opted for a non-alcoholic drink since you were light-weight.
“You know who I’m really excited to see?” you looked up from your martini glass to a brunette girl, who was practically vibrating on her seat in excitement. The table went quiet, turning to her, obviously interested too.
“You go here often?” Ren asked.
“Nope! But he’s famous in the local community!” she answered, twirling a strand of hair around her index finger.
“Who is it?” Kimiko queried, titling her head slightly in question.
“It’s someone who goes by the stage name of Reynard,” she tips her head back slightly to practically inhale her drink.
“Sounds English!” Ren comments, her pristine acrylic nails tapping rhythmically on the table.
“Definitely won’t be screaming that into the night,” you retort quietly with Sasaki having to turn around to stifle her laughter with her hand as Ren shoots you a glare. The table suddenly rattled and you turn to see the excitable brunette (seriously, what was her name?) had kicked the table to gather the attention of the group. She was gaping at the stage in awe and you see Ren’s jaw drop. Confused, you turn your body to take a look at what caused Ren to give such a reaction.
Oh.
Oh.
You never really understood what people meant when they said ‘the world had stopped for them’, the metaphor was overused and didn’t convey the right emotion, in your opinion. Though you are seriously wondering if maybe they had the right idea because everything else seemed to blur out from your senses and you were now laser focused on the dancer on the platform.
Of course, it was just your luck, right?
The man on the stage, always donned with a poker face, was none other than Suna motherfucking Rintarou.

UHHH, who should you fight in shiratorizawa: headcanons, just ignore if you don't get it tho
Ushijima // who would win: Him duh.
If you try to fight Ushijima, he’ll completely take you down undertaker-style and say somethin’ like, “it’s part of my shiratorizawa volleyball training” smh. Do not fight Ushijima.
Tendou// who would win: you
He’s a twink. He’ll talk big game but you can literally snap his arm like a glow stick. Plus he’s a piece of shit. Do fight Tendou.
Semi// who would win: him
have y’all seen his arms?? he’ll try and be reasonable but he won’t hesitate to beat your ass. Do not fight Semi.
Reon// who would win: him
why would you wanna fight him?? he’s so precious?? the minute you see him look sad about it you fall to your knees and clutch your heart. Don’t fight Reon.
Yamagata// who would win: you
He ain’t no Semi but he can probs can leave a few bruises for you but like he’s a chill dude so i don’t why you would wanna do. I would probs wanna be bffs with him. Fight Yamagata if you are an asshole.
Shirabu// who would win: you
he talks big game but can’t throw a punch for shit. Harder to take down than Tendou tho. You should probably fight Shirabu.
Kawanishi// who would win: nobody
He probs look at you and be like “who this crusty bitch?” and then proceed to walk away. There is no point fighting Kawanishi.
Goshiki// who would win: you
Goshiki can be annoying af and acts like he’s the shit or somethin’. Can probably throw a few punches tho but ultimately you would probs win ‘cause he too busy yappin about how people can’t fight the future ace of shiratorizawa. Fight Goshiki if you will.
