The history of Sabritas takes us to the Morelos colony in Mexico City, its founder was Don Pedro Marcos Noriega, the reality is that in its beginnings it was only a purely family business and its botanas were distributed from his home to different expenditures through bicycle, the business was a success and ten years later they open a small factory called "Golosinas y Selectos", however they noticed that the commercial name was not so attractive; so his son of Mr. Pedro, Guillermo Noriega suggests to give the name "Sabritas" result of a pun of: "tasty" and "fried".
In 1963 the founder of this company dies and his son Guillermo takes the position to lead it, a huge expansion begins. For the year 1965 Pepsico who had associated with Frito Lay in the United States look for Mr. Guillermo to buy "Sabritas".
Guillermo accepts and becomes CEO of the company, at the same time "Oscar" is created the famous "happy face". You can't eat just one.!! I don't know about you, but I'm already craving a botanita!!

The world's rarest marine mammal, the vaquita porpoise, does not appear to have suffered a drop in its population since October 2021, according to new research published on Wednesday by Sea Shepherd. The critically endangered vaquita, native to Mexico's Gulf of California, has been imperiled by illegal fishing, putting Mexico's government under pressure to crack down on the practice. Biologists estimated that some 20 or fewer vaquitas were left in 2018, and previously warned more die each year in nets than are born.
However, Sea Shepherd's latest surveillance mission said they spotted around a dozen healthy looking vaquitas, including calves, "roughly the same" estimate as in October 2021, when the last survey was conducted.

Mexico is starting to bustle again as the country gradually reopens after a quarantine that hammered its economy. But many Mexicans, including medical experts, are worried the move has come too early, and will lead to more illness and death under a pandemic that has not been brought under control in Mexico and is surging across Latin America. “Most people think from the government’s message that the worst is over,” said Dr. Francisco Moreno, who heads the Covid unit of ABC Medical Center, one of Mexico City’s top private hospitals. “We are at the peak of the epidemic,” he added, explaining that the center is so full it has had to turn patients away, despite doubling its capacity in recent weeks.
Mexico’s president, Andrés Manuel López Obrador, has struggled to balance a response to the coronavirus with the economic needs of a country in which over half of the population lives hand-to-mouth, working informal jobs, without a safety net.
