I liked the ending, don’t get me wrong

but it didn’t feel like an ending. 

Usually, Cassie’s endings are really good, satisfying, and happy. 

But this felt more like the beginning

SO MUCH WAS SET UP FOR THE NEXT BOOK IN THOSE LAST PAGES

also the cohorts logic makes no sense because they are shadowhunters people who hunt demons and demons can’t even get into Alicante. 

So I’m just really confused as to how they think they are going to better the world by locking themselves up in a demon-free world.

I LOVE SIMON AND IZZY I REALLY JUST WANT TO TALK TO THEM. I NEED INFORMATION. DO THEY HAVE A DATE SET FOR THE WEDDING? WHAT’S THE PLAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Also, I really wanted Julian and Simon to become friends in this book. 

And that one scene where Simon and Izzy were talking to Emma and Julian before they went to Faerie was amazing I love them sm. 

Let’s list off all of the Iconic things that happened in Qoaad:

8. the clarification that Izzy isn’t actually a bad cook, she just literally likes the most disgusting foods. (Ketchup and S’mores)

9. Aline breaking a lamp to get the others attention

I’m literally so sad that Kit and Ty left on such bad terms, and I’m sad that Kitty didn’t happen, but Kit deserves a family and I’m SO EXCITED THAT HE’S GOING TO LIVE WITH JEM AND TESSA BECAUSE IT’S LIKE WHAT JEM SAID IN TID THAT THEY WERE ON A WHEEL, AND THEY ARE ON A WHEEL. BECAUSE IT ALWAYS COMES BACK TO THE CARSTAIRS, HERONDALES, AND TESSA. 

Livvy’s ghost being tied to Ty. Can we just take a moment and acknowledge how bad this is probably going to be for Ty. I mean, for now, Dru and Ty pry think it’s a good thing, but Livvy is tied to Ty forever. His dead sister’s ghost will always be with him, and I feel like this is going to be a very big part of how Ty changes as a person in TWP. But, like, he’s also never going to be able to properly grieve his sister’s death. 

Also, Julian carving “You are in the cage” into his arm was so glossed over. He put a knife to his skin and cut. He harmed himself. We got two reactions, but then it was forgotten. And it shouldn’t have been. There should have been more emotional damage from that, but there wasn’t. That was really my only problem with Qoaad.  

I like Helen and Aline, but I feel like Aline was way too hard on the kids. They’re all young and grieving the loss of their sister, and had just found out that their father figure (Julian) had been sent on a suicide mission with Emma. They were all trying to get used to everything and Aline being that harsh with the kids was unnecessary.  Helen was trying to get used to everything as well, and Dru was keeping her distance because she felt like Helen was going to leave again. Aline should have been kinder with the kids. 

Overall, I’m hyperventilating and really just want TWP to be out already. Also, it’s weird because I was so late to this fandom that I’ve been only reading SHC for over a year, and now there are no more books to read and I don’t even know what to do with myself rn and I miss Julian, Emma, Dru, Mark, Helen, Aline, Kieran, Kit, Tessa, Jem, and EVERYONE. I WANT THEM BACK. 

Also, I’m so glad that Alec gets to rebuild the Clave. He’s going to do such a good job. I’m so proud of him.

Jealous!Julian

Another prompt request inspired from my Jealous!Emma headcanon. Please enjoy everyone!

Out of the two of them, Julian was always the more openly jealous of the two.

Not because he was worried about her leaving him, but insecurities from years of her being with another still left a subtle mark on him.

Emma rarely got jealous and when she did, hands were thrown. Of course Julian was her direct opposite and got jealous more but rarely acted on it. But oh boy has it happened before

Namely, on their travel year.

They were in New York, surrounded by the freshly moved Clave, Shadowhunters there by the dozens.

It was obvious that guys were gonna be attracted to Emma, Julian had prepared himself for it. She was stunning and people were drawn to her. What he hadn’t prepared for, was the sheer amount of stubbornness some of the boys had when coming on to her.

Often ignoring him outright, hovering in close, making way too many sexual comments.

Emma shot them down and was more than capable of handling it herself, but god it was getting on his last nerve.

Lowkey, Emma found jealous Julian hot as fuck because he clenched his jaw, his eyes would darken, and she could really see him trying not to plan someone’s murder

They day Julian finally snapped was on a Tuesday.

Emma was talking to a Shadowhunter a couple years older than them when said Shadowhunter, mistaking Emma’s friendliness as her flirting with him, grabbed Emma by the waist and pulled her in with every intent of stealing a kiss.

Julian shut that shit down real quick

Now, just prior, Jace had been showing Julian a new manuever to put more power behind a punch and Julian had been so distracted that he kept messing up.

This time? He did not. He had swung the Shadowhunter around so fast and punched him so hard that the entire training room heard the crack as the poor guy’s nose broke

Even over all the noise.

Jace was very proud of Julian’s perfect form in executing it

The Shadowhunter was hit so hard that he fell on the ground, and Julian’s hand THROBBED.

Julian was surprised once it was all said and done and Emma was looking at him with an expression that mirrored his until she started to crack a smile

“What?” “Did you just defend my honor?”

He had highkey expected her to be mad about it and was unprepared for her teasing

“Okay knock if off”

“Do it again, it was hot”

“Emma-”

It took a couple healing runes to fix the other guy’s nose, and even then it was still obviously crooked.

After that, most of the boys backed off, realizing that Julian was not somebody to mess with and that maybe they should stop hitting on his girlfriend because even the most mellow people have that edge you should not push them to
