5.30.2014 -> in the park again at lunch under the bright sun. i ran into john s. on my walk over. he was by the lunch trucks. i told him i was going to meditate in the park. he asked if i really meant meditate. i laughed and said no, i can't concentrate in that way at this time in my life. but because of that word choice it reminded him of a college friend he had who was in charge of a tibetan activist group at school. he had to practice meditation and he became the leader of this group in the school and had to lead meditation services but they ended up kicking him out because he didnt know what he was doing. one night some tibetan monks visited to speak and get a tour of the school. they were lodging with him because he was the leader of the meditation group. he had to find a way to entertain them during their downtime so he took them bowling. none of them had ever bowled before but they all got really into it and had fun. i thought about them all in their saffron robes chucking bowling balls down the lanes and laughing.

10.20.2013 -> dream this morning: i was living with dan as roommates in a weird house. there was something going on similar to pt anderson's "the master" where we found it in l. ron hubbard's son's belongings. i guess they were just left in this house. we found a bag and inside of it was a giant praying mantis/ moth-like animal, all sort of folded up. it had folded up its mandibles and it slowly came alive from what appeared to be a long hibernation in storage. it was about 3-4 feet long and had huge wings. it woke up and dan and i were amazed by this animal because we had never seen such a thing. it was very alien-like as most insects tend to be. we put water out, and some lettuce/carrots which it ate. it lazily glided around the room, exploring here and there.

5.4.2021 -> i drove out to the burbs to visit my mom on sunday 5/2, my dads birthday. he would have been 75. we didn’t talk about the fact that it was his bday, but we both thought about it. i helped her with yard work and paying bills online. we ordered gong ho. tearful goodbye– she always cries.
