A Nonbinary Gender characterized by mushrooms, slime molds, fungi, forest floors, and decay. Fungi have around 36,000 sexes, all of which can mate with one another, although sexual drive isn’t required to identify as Mushroomgender and any pronouns can be used.

Color Representation: Dark Indigo- The ceiling of moist caverns or the color of the night sky. Pale Green- The bioluminescent light that some fungi emit. Brown- Rich soil. Cream- The expansive mycelium that stretches under the surface, as well as the mushroom’s fruiting body. Pale Blue- Nutrients that are found underground.

The Garden: A Legacy Challenge

Hi guys, and welcome to my first ever Legacy Challenge! I spent an hour or so writing this up quickly because I was feeling creative! I hope this challenge might seem fun to some of you, fun enough to pick it up and play it! Please tag me if you’re starting it, and use the tag #garden legacy if you post pics! So, without further delay, here we go!

The Garden Legacy Challenge is a challenge carried out across 10 generations of your Sims family of choice. This introduction to the challenge can only be used as a guideline if you wish, as I’d love for you to express your creativity by using this as a template. Please, sit back, relax and enjoy playing the game! :)

Rules:

Money Cheats are NOT allowed

Aesthetic CC and poses are FINE

Needs must be on decay AT ALL TIMES

Feel free to pause ageing ONLY FOR STORY PURPOSES 

Your Sims must live on the SAME LOT for the whole 10 generations. A larger lot is recommended

Any world is fine

You may edit what your Sims look like in CAS if they fugly

Information:

Your entire 10 generations will be named after various plants you could find or have in your garden. This is inspired by the fact that your Sims will have a love for nature throughout all 10 generations, living their life on the family farm. Each generation also has a berry colour in case berry simmers would like to enjoy the challenge too!

Generation 1: ROSE

Traits: Ambitious, Loves the Outdoors, Vegetarian

Aspiration: Freelance Botanist

Berry Colour: Red

Information: This is the founder of your legacy! From living their entire childhood in the smelly and loud city, they have decided to begin a new lifestyle in the countryside. They dream of running a farm to support the generations to come.

Rules:

Compete the Aspiration

Have at least 2 children

Have 1 dog and 1 cat

Collect every base game plant

Have no job: earn your money through gardening

Care for at least 2 cowplants throughout your life

Reach level 10 of the gardening skill

Not So Berry Legacy Challenge

Do you like the rainbow? Do you like the idea of playing with berry Sims but hate berry Sims? Do you want to mess around with aspects of the game you’ve never used before? Boy, do I have the challenge for you!

Welcome to the Not So Berry Legacy Challenge, a ten generation legacy with a focus on bright colors and new experiences.

Basic Rules:

Each heir must represent the color of the generation (i.e. hair, makeup, clothing), but brightly colored skin is not necessary (these aren’t actually berry Sims, that’s the joke). Of course, this is optional but a big portion of the fun.

The colors of the spouses don’t matter as they aren’t part of the challenge. Unless otherwise stated you can do whatever you please with them.

Money cheats can be used, but not excessively. Suggestion: use freerealestate for your first home, but no cheats afterward.

You may live wherever you please unless something is specified in the rules of a generation.

Every generation is supposed to complete both the career and aspiration of the heir unless explicitly stated otherwise.

Keep the lifespan on normal.

Learning Languages and How to Make it Fun

How does a child learns? Immersion

So you gotta dive deep

Find songs that you like. You don't have to understand, you just have to enjoy the song.

Listen them at least once a day. The idea is for you to get familiar with the sounds.

Once you have already heard them too many times (without getting tired of them) look for the lyrics. In their native language, not a translation.

If you can read in that language, then try reading them. Print them if you have to or write them down (this is better) and as you listen to the song try to sing.

If there's a word/sentence you like because it sounds pretty, mark it.

If there's a word you don't know how to/can't pronounce, mark it.

For example, I have a journal in which I write Japanesse Kanji that I find beautiful (whether is because of the meaning or the symbol itself is pretty)

Once you are familiar with the song look for a translation.

Check those words you have marked with the translation.

While looking for definitions it's better if you find images (so can have an idea of what that word is) instead of a definition in your language (unless is a long/complicated concept).

Movies, you must watch movies in that language. Better if they are from that country. (It can also be a doubled movie, perhaps you could look for one of your favorites)

Watch them with subtitles (in your language) once or twice. Then watch them again but this time without subtitles or with subtitles of said language. (You already know the plot, so you can still understand what's going on)

If you like to read, look for children literature. It's easy and fun.

Keep reading even if you don't understand a single sh*t. It doesn't matter.

Mark again those words you like, don't know the meaning or can't pronounce.

Write at least one sentence every day. It doesn't have to be right, it doesn't have to be long or poetic, you just gotta write.

If you still don't know much about grammar (enough to formulate a sentence on your own) then write a quote from one of those songs, movies or books you read. Again it doesn't matter if you don't understand what are you writing.

If you already know another language, try to learn the new language with that one. For example, I learn german from english instead of my native language spanish.

Videogames. In my experience this is amazing. You have no idea idea how much I learned english just from games.

You have fun playing, engaged with a story, while constantly hearing the language. You don't even have to pay attention at what they are saying, eventually you'll figure it out. It's very intuitive.

And because games, usually, requires that you spend many hours playing you will have a lot of practice without actually studying.

Some games, if you look on the settings menu, even have other languages instead of english. For example I played Assassin's Creed Brotherhood in italian and french and AsC III in russian and japanese (the voice actors are fantastic).

Seriously, videogames are freaking amazing for learning.

The idea of this, is that you can imitate the learning process a child does, while also having fun and enjoying it. Kids learn by making mistakes, by playing with words and by being constantly surrounded with the language. At first, kids have no idea what they are doing, they just repeat what they see and hear. So it's okay if you don't know what are you doing, take that pressure off. This is not school/college, this is just you trying to learn a culture. So be kind and patient with yourself.

LEARNING SHOULD BE FUN, be creative with your methods and try everything (so you can find what you are comfortable with). It is scientifically proved that if you like what you are studying and having fun it will be 10x easier to assimilate and remember the knowledge you are acquiring.

Question: why does a little affection automatically mean you're dating?

RESPECT YOUR KID'S OPINION ON THEIR OWN MENTAL HEALTH

After all, they probably know more about how they're feeling than you do.

Okay I am raging right now. Here's why:

A bit of background info - I have a friend I've known since childhood, and we've grown up together and go to the same school.

Her life is, to put it bluntly, shitty. Constantly being passed between parents, having seesaw relationships with both of them, arguments etc. Plus all her previous relationships are dodgy and toxic.

Now, my friend has a lot of mental health issues and has had them for a while now. Depression, anxiety and all that. She self harms excessively and has attempted suicide multiple times. She smokes.

But today she comes into Languages and the teacher's late so we're talking. And she says, "guys so guess what" and we're all like "what's up my dude?" And she goes "you know how we all turn sixteen this year?" *All nod* "well then I'm gonna be gone for a while as I can legally check myself into A&E and the mental health ward place" (that's the psychiatric ward isn't it?)

So we're all supportive because good for her wanting more help. But one girl asks why and she replies "I can go in by myself and don't need parental permission or recommendation from my therapist which hasn't been around lately".

So this, my friends, means my friend is not allowed to get help because her parents said so and her therapist won't recommend her.

What the fuck has the world come to???? Where you can't get help because you're underage???

Seriously that's so messed up. If your child thinks they need help, give them help. Fuck sake, sort out your priorities. She's your daughter, ignore whatever the hell your problem with her is and get her the help she needs.

So fuck off, I'm her parent now. And the German class and I are going to visit her in the hospital and play just dance and mario kart and eat 30p chocolate because we're a better family than you will ever be to her.
