This is a very small fan-comic of a few paragraphs from a fanfiction suggested by @littlepumkinseed, so thank you! 🥰

This is a small vignette of a moment that happens in Chapter One of the beautiful fanfic, “Light Me A Lantern” by ‘Novaviis’. So do please go and read the lovely work that inspired this little comic!😍 

Note: This fanfic is set just after Inuyasha and Kagome are reunited after the 3 years of separation! 

It broke me to draw Kagome heartbroken, but these are the scenarios I could picture in my mind when reading this passage in the fanfiction so I just had to try and draw it!🥺😭

Another prompt-inspired comic! Unfortunately I couldn’t upload the snapture of the prompt here, but it was from an anon user and I LOVED IT.😍

The prompt wrote: “..could you maybe draw Inuyasha in his full demon form, but have Moroha as a baby or toddler pat his cheeks and revert him back to his normal self just from the love he feels for his baby? I know it’s really corny and overly specific but I honestly just love that idea.”

Anon, THANK YOU! I loved thinking about how to show this in a short comic. I love this battle family so much 😭😭😭

Zero is dead so my guess is that Kirinmaru will end like this.. Rion is not human nor a demon so she will probably be part of his demise.

Is Kirin Osamu considered a full demon even though he was born from the arm of an actual demon or is he a lesser being because of that?

Same question goes for Riku who was created from a horn.

And then we have the princesses who are part demon and part human.

My guess is that it’ll be a copy and paste situation from the final act where everyone gets together and defeats the bad guy as a team blah blah blah.. Not sure if the girls parents will also be helping out but why not?

Honestly, I have kinda lost interest in the series after Inuyasha and Kagome were reunited with their baby girl. That’s all I really wanted.

Between the plot holes, terrible animation team and writers, the show is just a mess. I’ll watch it to see how it ends though. Maybe they can redeem themselves.

Y’all I’m not gonna lie. This episode was good and all with an exception of one thing they keep getting wrong. I hate the FUCK out this animation team. With all the money the Inuyasha franchise made, they couldn’t put together better animators for Yashahime? A damn shame…

I can die happy now. My heart is so full. I waited 16 years for this. Literally my childhood dream has come true. Getting to see Inuyasha father specifically a daughter. This was perfect.😊

I really need to talk about Kagome’s emotional strength, because in my opinion it is extremely and consistently under-appreciated. And what a shame that is, because it's one of her defining characteristics. This scene beautifully demonstrates it.

First of all, can we please appreciate how Kagome sees right through the infant's supernatural gaslighting? He's taking kernels of Kagome's negative emotions and using them to spin a narrative about Kagome's "true feelings," and about who she is as a person. The infant tries to define Kagome by reducing her to the feelings of resentment and jealousy she's experiencing in the moment. He tries to convince her that she's nothing more than the the worst things she's ever felt. "You feel resentment, therefore you are a resentful person."

But Kagome understands that feelings—even negative, unsettling feelings like resentment and jealousy—are generally temporary and ultimately besides the point. Feelings, in and of themselves, don't define us. How we choose to act with those feelings—what we do with them, whether and how we cultivate them—defines us. And, what had Kagome done with her jealousy earlier in the same arc? She urged InuYasha to look for Kikyo when it became known that Kikyo could still be alive and in need of help. That's what she did. Kagome didn't allow her jealousy to influence her behavior when it counted, or keep her from acting in InuYasha's—and even Kikyo's—best interest. And so Kagome can rightly say, "They're just normal emotions that anyone could have... not hatred." She has the wisdom to discern between the two, and that wisdom stems from an emotional strength and rootedness (of which I am frankly envious).

In this scene, Kagome faces off with an enemy who literally weaponizes her own feelings against her, in an effort to deceive and manipulate her, spinning lies as truth. And Kagome has the strength and wisdom to say, "No, you're wrong. No, that's a lie. This is the truth."

Throughout the series, other people—both friends and foes alike—try to define who Kagome is, usually by comparing her to Kikyo in one way or another. And throughout the entire series, Kagome affirms her own identity again and again. "I'm Kagome, not anyone else. No, that's not who I am — this is who I am." And in this scene she's doing it again: the infant tries to tell her, "What you truly feel is hatred," and Kagome—alone, unaided, her very soul infiltrated by her enemy—has the strength to affirm the truth: "No, that's not what I feel — this is what I feel."

She is so 👏🏼 stinkin' 👏🏼 strong! 👏🏼
