Mar 2017 , WF visit Went there one day as I was in the area. Bought these pleiospilos nelii, also otherwise known as split rocks.$5 per pot. Nice size too. 2nd time I'm trying them out Trouble is , they usually fare lousy after a repot . I tried to put them into a terracotta this round and more pumice and other better draining medium. Hope it works. Their original medium was like dried up hard dirt. Can't be good. I am also not watering much . Spritzing from a mist bottle into the soil . Can see the Neliis has shrunken. Probably needs to up the water.

18 Mar 2017 GDO Hoot Part 2 Top 3 are from glass garden's $8 variety. I have no idea what's their ID. Second one is Kalanchoe sp and third one is euphorbia sp. And then the next 3 are from their $5 for 3 variety. So queer I hardly see these species. Oops or were these from WF? Hmmm not sure 🤔 might really be from WF cos I hardly see these type on glass garden booth. See the Kalanchoe and the juicy succulent leave plant has bite marks? Ya, I didn't mind cos I wanted to try this Kalanchoe and the leafy juicy leave fella is really good to touch. Just Like touching a bear paw plant.

18 Mar 2017 GDO Hoots
Aloe something. I have been trying to get my hands on one since forever… but it’s always so expensive . Like $20-25 for one. Finally saw one at SO or SC’s booth. I think SC. Got this for $15, smaller one but it is the only one that’s a good deal. It’s so coming home with me.
The rest are from SS . Can’t rem the name - not really on my list but then it’s small so it won’t take much space. I could give it a go.
Keikos - the first pot I got has thinned out to 2 small flower leaves . Pathetic … I must have rotted the roots. I should really take it out and examine it. So lazy…
Kalanchoe something- alittle curious about other types of Kalanchoe than the mother of thousands or millions which is starting to irritate me when the plantlets everywhere….
Monodenium rubella - got 2 small pots as backup for my first pot which is more exp as that has more woody stem .
Part 2 next…

Excursion to CCK.
Visted SO plot as he was having a 5 for $10 promo and took the opportunity to check out his place. The last 3 pixs were the haul.
Sanserveria (mother's in law tongue)
Aloe Vera
3x Earth Stars in different hues.
I dropped by S's plot and bought this Albuca Spiralis. What a queer and funny looking plant. I couldn't resist. I wanted to get at the last GDO and it was sold out... wonder how it propagates.
Next, Agave Victoria Reginae rizan. I bought this pup instead of the adult which would cost 1.5 x more. I dun have much space so the adult plants are in bigger pots. I would hv a headache. But this is one plant I have my eye on for awhile.
At the top is monadieum rubullem. I like the adult form but those have too many branches that stick out . So this cutting with caudex will do fine for me.
....And of cos, I'm a cheapo ...so I save a little with buying pups...heehee :-)

21 feb 2017 Had a sudden impulse of going plant window shopping and ended with these.
3 unknown succulents @$2.30 from Candy ( I have tried all three before I believe. So I’m testing my skills of watering.) Went through my archives here. The furry one should be Echeveria Setosa. Can’t believe I bought the first E.Setosa for almost $18-25 a piece.
2 African violets that were tempting me….So I bought more colour and pattern varieties against the solid pink and purple blooms I have right now. The AF in the last pix, the pattern is quite unusual. I swore I almost bought 3 AF. :-))))

18 Feb 2017 - GDO hoots
I don’t have their exact names for the most of them as the seller don’t provide tags, except for one (another seller).
From top down, first is a Huernia family species. No exact name. First time I have this species. Part of the $10 for 5 plants combo. Try it for fun.
Aloe. This seems to be a wrong buy but let’s see how it grows. Not aloe vera.
Euphorbia Cylindrifolia. One of the plants that I wanted as the leaves are pretty unique.
Next up, I think its a Dorstenia Horwoodii .
Followed by Dorstenia Foetida... I got it because of the seed pods. Look at the 4 or 5 flowers it has!. It seems to have some bugs or something and the leaves are yellowish. But no matter , with my experience of turning my Dorstenias bald within 1-2 wks, it should be ok. I am still in a dorstenia craze right now… I’m leaving it outdoor (a/c ledge) . Let’s see if the leaves turning dark . My existing ones turned from nice green to dark dark green colour as I keep them inside.
Next one, that looks like a pineapple with tufts of green at the top. Dunno what you are. But you might be a cheaper version of the yellow tag which cost me a good $28. So I bought you for $8. But it’s sprouting a new growth at the side too, so I bought it for fun. *Found its name, I think. Euphorbia Bupleurifolia.
What’s the name of this brown with white stripe plant? Anyone knows? I thought it’s an Earth Star plant or something. Could it be from the Aloe family?Ok found it...it’s Crytanthus SPP / Earth Star.
2 Adeniums baby ( the leaves are not perfect but I think it’s ok . No issue) My current Adenium stem is wrinkled . Something is wrong so I bought these two as backups.
Euphorbia hypogea (yellow tag) . Supposed to grow into a pineapple tree lookalike. Look forward to it.
I also bought a 1 Dracena maginata from IKEA, love this plant for its form, not my usual buy definitely.
Missed out on buying a squiggly from S. (ID: Albuca spiralis.) He brought 3 to GDO and it was within 2 hrs, it’s all soldout. I will pop to his nursery and pick that up. And because I didn’t get to buy that one, I ended up buying all of the above. Yes, it’s all S’s fault.... hahahah like real.

12 jan 2017 Just a little over 2 weeks at my home and 2 waterings with fertilizer, these AVs seem to be doing really great!
Read some AV growers said to pinch the spent flowers to encourage more budding or constant budding. What do they mean by pinch? Can I snip them off with scissors? Must I remove the whole stem too?
Appreciate any advice if anyone knows.

Closeups of new last batch of 2016 plants .
Cotyledon pendens (3 pots)
Aeonium kiwi (I think)
Cotyledon Tomentosa ( bear paws, 3 pots). Remember I bought lots from China and they all died on me? Spent a fortune too...
Pepperomia graveolens (2 pots)
Pepperomia dolabrformis ?
Crassula Mem+something... (2 pots, cause I have never seen it before and it looks achievable)
Total: $30 for 12 plants. What a great deal ! Even if I had to drive 20km to get to the nursery.

First buy of 2017.
Couldn't resist this Crassula falcata ( I think) and the many leaves fella at the top. Hardly see these species.
I actually drove all the way home , dropped someone off and drove back to the store to buy them.
The facauria and titanopsis are more of retry plants. Why retry? I killed the last titanopsis and my existing facauria is shrinking on me and I dunno what's wrong. Let's see if I can do better this round.

This dorstenia is multi-head per what the ex owner tells me. Love it that there are lots of flowers , hope I don’t kill.

Dec Updates 5 See how badly my echeverias were etiolating! They were literally pushing themselves out of the pots. I need to do some beheading but I haven't done any . Not sure if they will survive actually. And the Kalanchoes are all doing well. The hardy weeds that they are...
