Something that I have noticed is I know almost nobody my age that goes to a food pantry. I know people who regularly run out of money for food and in general have to eat an unsuitable diet because that’s what they can afford and they still don’t go to a food bank, im not sure if it’s because they’re embarrassed or maybe if you didn’t grow up going you don’t know much about it but if you’re financially struggling I really recommend it. And look into other options for food assistance too like community fridges and gardens and other programs that can assist you, where I live Salvation Army pays for an allotted amount of grocery delivery for low income people every month, in the summer farmers take excess produce to the library to be taken by anyone who needs it, etc. There are a LOT of resources for free food that you can look into especially if you are literally not eating because of your financial situation

ok, dunno if this is overly-specific but I figured it’s worth a shot: I noticed a bookmark saved under one of my fics in this format and I’m wondering if/how I can do this for my own bookmarks?

I can’t even tell if it’s a work skin or a browser extension, tho I kinda doubt it’s an extension bc those are usually private to the user’s own browser and not publicly visible like this. but idk! if you’ve seen this and know what it is/how to do it, I’m interested!

this would be the word count for ONE FIC, not a series word count.
(please no judging people for their answers in the notes. there are tons of reasons why people would prefer to read fic of certain lengths, eg time commitment.)
#I’ve been able to tolerate 250k-ish for super compelling stories#but when even a cool concept I loved goes past 300k and the author declares they don’t even have an ending yet I have to tap out#felt like 100k+ was rare when I was a teen and now there all these 400k monsters that never end#idk if I’m just getting old or bored or impatient or all of the above 🫠#if you can’t fit a story into 400k words what are you even doing??

#I feel like switch between plot & characterization#depending on how rare the fandom/pairing/characters are I think#like if it’s a super tiny fandom I’ll just take anything I can get#but in a bigass fandom I’ll be pickier yknow?

The bimbo feminism girls who love Legally Blonde really missed like the whole point of the movie. The point is that she's not a brainless bimbo. She saves the day with her knowledge of haircare, sure, but she got in the room by going to law school. You cannot reduce that movie down to "Girl knowledge saves the day!" because the perm wouldn't have mattered if she hadn't spent the entire rest of the movie working her ass off in an unrelated field. The feminist angle is that she can have girly interests and also be smart, not that having girly interests is feminist in itself
