I took this photo a while ago, but I wanted to show off my beloved cactus fountain—which now runs water!! It was broken for the longest time, and you wouldn't believe what I had to kill in the sewers to get it working again...

Anyway, the town just gets prettier and prettier each day, I think! Anyone wanna invest in a nice vacation home? 😊

I lost count of the number of times I’d cried at camp, but I swear to you that they were all good cries!

I met a Lorax for the first time!

His name was the Bankax, and...how should I describe him? Shortish, oldish, brownish, mossy...and he was in charge of our dear little Cashtie, who’s actually a full grown adult Once-ler in their home realm. Apparently the notorious Cashtea-ler makes a habit of inviting people to his casino, striking deals with them and then stealing their souls. Pretty crazy, right?

But I’m probably even crazier...because I told the Bankax that I’d help him take down Cashtea and free all the trapped souls. Mmmmaybe it was against my better judgement, since I’d...also risk losing my soul, haha. But!! Mister Bankax was just so cute, okay?? And he even let me harvest two large bags of truffula fruit to take home with me! That’s SO MANY more seeds we can plant in town...so if this is what you call being charmed by a forest spirit, I guess I’m okay with it.

...And..you know, it just seemed like he’d been having a rough time fighting all alone for so many years. I could relate to that.

I also still believe that there’s some good left in Cashtea. He’s just under some kind of curse, is all, and I know very well that curses can be broken.

Birthday Calamities

I still remember all the things I used to do when I was the resident zombie slayer at Som’s factory. These would include, but not be limited to, factory “sweeps” to make sure there weren’t any zombies in or around the factory, rooftop lookouts, digging hole traps, listening to the radio, making all kinds of soups, learning guitar, building pillow forts in the gaymes room, sleeping huddled up together on a giant Once-ler bed, and most of all, changing bandages.

Space and time are warped out there, though, so I don’t even know who all still remembers those times anymore, but I hope they’ll at least stay with me forever. I...wouldn’t be the same person without them.

And for the record, I know two Soms. The other Som is the one from my alternate beach life, whom I officially got reunited with shortly after I arrived at camp. He's also very dear to me, so at least I still have him.

What else was I going to say..oh yeah. Does anyone else ever get the jitters on certain days of the year, due to bad things having happened on those days in the past? I hope that’s a totally normal thing. For me, it’s unfortunately always when September the 16th approaches..

Shoutout to Johnny’s dad for bringing the costumes to us. Johnny still owes me one for choosing to be stuck in the dirt all evening while I had to greet his dad all by myself, JUST sayin’.

Archery 101 with Fellow Adventurer Nenela!! (feat. Bean ♥)

I should probably say something again about my actual job at summer camp, huh? It’s been a pleasure teaching archery to kids, despite being forced to have the younger ones use plunger arrows instead of real arrows (yes, I’m still upset over that), and mainly it’s just been really cool to give them that confidence boost through archery.

Also, a secret: I learned archery intuitively while surviving in the wastelands, but doing and teaching are two different things, so...I actually had to look up online how to teach it real quick before I got started at Weehawken. 😂 Don’t tell anyone, okay!! Bean boy said I was pretty good at the instructor thing!! It helped to have good students too though, like sweet little Nenela...I hope she enjoyed the lesson. 🥰 Even though I got rather distracted halfway through..
