According to ESPN and Rivals, Byron Cowart was the nation's No. 1 recruit in 2015 who finished his college career as a starting defensive end at Maryland. When coach Will Muschamp was fired at Florida and became Auburn’s defensive coordinator, Armwood coach Sean Callahan warned Cowart that Muschamp would not be at Auburn long and advised Cowart to stay with Florida. He now regrets not listening to Callahan and is keeping his hopes high that his name will be called in the later rounds of the draft this weekend. He is not blaming anyone but himself for the way things turned out.
