“Well the Chinese takeouts afterward weren’t that bad, so it’s fine. There’s always another time for the steak.” Ezekiel merely chuckled in amusement at the younger male’s remark. “Even more so now with the new kitchen and all.” His eyes twinkled slightly in amusement at the happy smile plastered across Elijah’s face. “A chance to get to know your Lin better and birthday cake. Mhmm..definitely going to be a great day.” He paused to let out a soft sigh. “Damn, to think of it... you���ve all grown up, kid.”

Ezekiel’s brown orbs were soft as he looked at the younger male as if he was contemplating something. He only broke the silence after a while, murmuring in return. “Nope. Nothing that’s not ridiculous enough.” The second part of his words more of a murmur to himself instead of being loud and clear.

Mace: Guess who just put a two year old to bed and don't want to do paperwork nor work or stuff?

He wasn’t so sure what is it that his staffs got out from being overconcerned of his love life. They do this every single time; setting him on blind dates and only telling him about said date of the day at the last minute. His personal assistant said that it was only so that he couldn’t work his way out of it, because Ezekiel definitely would if given the chance. That’s what he got for hiring an adept person to fill in the position, apparently they tend to learn (from Ezekiel himself oh the irony) how to manipulate him into not saying ‘no’ after a while. So here he was stepping into the venue of the date for the night, with the bouquet of flowers that they thrust into his hand earlier. It was only as he was being led to his table that Ezekiel began to realise that one; he didn’t quite knew whom they set him up with this time and two he was about five minutes late. As he got closer to the table and spotting the back of his date, he began to prepare himself mentally. “Terribly sorry to keep you waiting. Here.” He murmured first and offering the bouquet with the most charming smile he could muster before his gaze eventually moved to meet the other’s.

I was planning to have a little party this year.” Letting the man go he smiled putting the tickets safe with the jacket. “You should come over for dinner with me and Lin soon. My cooking is getting really good now I have a better kitchen to use,”

If he had reached out to rake his fingers through Elijah’s hair briefly as they hugged, it was instinctive, something on spur of the moment (and totally not because he was feeling a little paternal over the younger male, nope). “A party huh? Well I’ll try then to be here.” Ezekiel let out a chuckle, lips curling into a smirk as he can’t help but to tease next. “Really now? So you’re saying that I won’t have to worry this time about arriving to your place only found you crying over a spoiled steak then? Sure thing, Eli. Just give me a date, I’ll make sure to free myself for both you and Lin.”

If he was smiling slightly into the kiss, it was because he can’t help himself. When Atticus pulled away, Ezekiel let out a soft sigh, smacking his lips as if trying to ascertain something. “Hmm..I don’t know.
