[ mssg ] the both of them sound wonderful. i’m really glad that you’re getting along with your team. [ mssg ] things have been... a little difficult since you left. [ mssg ] pacifying dad has been more difficult that usual. even jeanne is having trouble keeping him happy. [ mssg ] jenny and i keep trying to bring up the fact that we’re planning to travel, but it’s been difficult to catch him in a good mood. [ mssg ] we’ll get by. we miss you too.

the screen of her scroll showed an image of jenny flickering and glitching until finally the screen went black. without a picture to see, she couldn’t read her sister’s lips and thus her last few sentences went unsent.

          [ contact: ] jenny.

[ mssg ] the video call stopped. [ mssg ] i’m not even sure if this is getting through.

   “Julie? Are you there?” She no longer heard any ringing from the other end, and no voicemail message began. Jenny hoped that finally, some sort of communications were back online after the disaster in Vale.

“well i could be blunt or give you the more polite version.” she smiled at her phone, it’d been awhile since they last spoke so her signing was a little rust thank god for keyboards right? “politely i said; i’m leaving don’t call, don’t text and you and jeanne can just go right back where you came from, the actual way i said it however was more along the lines of; you can take your ladylike; and shove it up your ass you and your ‘princess’ both never fucking contact me.” she chuckled realizing how aggressive her hands ended up being. “if you need help i can lend you some lien, i’ve been getting a bit from my work here and there.”

ROSE   LIPS   PURSED,   less in response to jackie’s vulgar vocabulary but to the idea that she’d have to summon the courage to say something similar. she didn’t particularly want to leave jeanne and father on a bad note, she knew it would upset momma. however, she was aware that any attempt to leave permanently would put her under fire from their father. he was protective to a fault, too protective, too oppressive, too suffocating. he’d brought up the idea casually, while talking to jenny years ago, and when he had overheard had been met with a speech which basically said   ‶ someone like you will have trouble out there, on your own. ‶   she had no idea whether he’d been talking about her impairment, or her personality. all she knew was that she wanted to leave.

*   i appreciate it sis. i’ve got a friend i’m staying with. he was an exchange student here during school. i think i’ll be fine. i … i’ve actually been holding this off, but i want to check on jaune. he said his team would be arriving there soon.   *

‵   i’m saving up to move to mistral.   ‵   that was an understatement, just shy of ordering a plane ticket, she was already prepared. it had always been her dream to surround herself with the arts, with theatre and dance. she loved her family dearly, but there was very little to keep her creative spirit thriving here.   ‵   when you moved to vacuo, how did you tell father   ?   ‵   @courageousarc

juliet’s goal is to settle in mistral, just because of its dedication to the arts. i’m wondering whether i should place her move around v4 though.

it’s not rwby related but i was having some feels over not being able to do digital art. so i thought i’d post my favourite line art that i’ve ever done. naminé, my very first muse. ☆

THE   SCROLL   MESSAGE   was sent in video format, held by jenny’s hands shaking with excitement. when it finally did focus on juliet her smile was warm, hands shifting to form her sentences,   *contact us soon, jaune,*   although his name was replaced with the more endearing name sign,   *you know how much we love hearing of your adventures.*   @saintlyhilt
