it's already 2am, and atsumu being him, he’s just lounging by the living room when he heard a ping from his phone.

it’s an e-mail from you.

my dearest volleyball champ,

today marks our 10th year together!! who would have thought that we'll be together this long huh?

i'm kidding!!

hey, do you remember the time when you used to purposely hit the volleyball to me during gym class? and how my best friend would scream at you?

and remember the time when we went on a school trip and we had to row the makeshift boat? yeah, you made us jump into the water because you said we should became one with the boat.

we've made a lot of memories together. i hope you still want to make more with me.

i also hope by this time we've already built our own home and talking about our future together.

i love you, tsumu. i really do. words aren't enough to tell you how much i love you.

it was taken few years ago, both of you just graduated from high school.

you were self-recording. the graduation ceremony just ended.

you were running. running towards him. then in a second atsumu came into the frame, looking at you with the warmest smile spread across his face.

he then greeted you with a kiss on your forehead.

“congratulations to us, baby.” he said as he held you closer. “tsumu wait!” then you let out a giggle. you held out the camera so the both of you were seen better.

“before you say anything, this is for future projects.” you said as you faced the camera again. astumu just laughed at your antics.

“first of all, congratulations! we survived high school!” you said cheering and atsumu joining you. 

“okay, okay” you said leading him near the bleachers by the field. setting the camera down making it look like you two were being interviewed. holding out your to his face making it your ‘microphone’.

“now, mister miya atsumu. what are you’re plans after high school?” you said. him acting like he was deeply thinking. “you look like a dork, tsumu.”

“your handsome dork.” he replied. “to answer your question, i plan to pursue volleyball.”

“oh that’s nice, ba- WHAT!? YOU GOT ACCEPTED!?!!” he then went to give you the warmest hug and swung you around the field. the camera forgotten.

“and i’ll be your number one fan.” you said brightly. 

“what about you?” he said as he pulled you closer, both of you forgetting about the recording camera. “i actually got accepted to med school.” you said casually.

“hurry!! let’s open the door!” you said excitedly behind the camera. “you’re excited huh.” atsumu said with a smirk plastered on his face. the both of you were walking now on your shared apartment.

“it’s practically empty now, but we'll fill up this home in no time. right, baby?” atsumu looked at you after circling in the very spacious living room. “it’s perfect, love. we’re going to build this home together.” he then walked towards you taking the camera away from you and setting it by the box beside the both of you. he enveloped you in a warm hug. the camera forgotten again.

it was the day of your first day as a resident at the local hospital.

atsumu took you out since he said you've taken a hug step towards your dream. the video showed both of you eating and strolling the streets. you had perfectly captured atsumu walking infront of you looking for his brother's restaurant.

"god. i really love you tsumu."

now it looks like it's the last clip.

your face was shown in the frame. you were sitting on your shared bed back home. you were looking at something with a big smile on your face.

"hey remember the time you said we'd have a whole team of babies?" you asked while chuckling.

"well, it's going to happen soon." after you said, you showed your ultrasound.

"i get to see this little one today!" you said tears forming in your eyes. you then showed a video you filmed of the heart beart.

atsumu cannot describe his feeling of joy and contentment. he hurriedly made his way from the living room to the bedroom.

he made himself comfortable and hugged your belly.

“hey there” you said still half asleep.

burying his face on your shoulders “can i see our baby, y/n?”

turning to face him, you reached for the drawer of the bedside table and handed him a copy of the sonogram.

“i’m going to be a dad”

“I’M GOING TO BE DAD!” he happily shouted then proceeded to pamper you with kisses.

"so, let us close our knees and get back to our jobs. so he can get back to his job and help the people that really need it." you heard someone say as you walked towards the main lobby where it seems almost half of the nursing staff was gathered.

after them dispersing to where they're needed. you see two doctors. "hi. i was told to find you, dr. bailey." you said approaching the two of them.

"you are?" dr. bailey asked you. "oh! i'm one of the new relocated interns."

"im y/n y/l/n."

"oh! sorry you had to hear all that, dr. y/l/n."

the other doctor introduced himself. "im dr. mark sloan. head of plastics."

he was attempting a handshake but dr. bailey motioned you the other way and dragging you away and saying you have a lot of catching up and you don't need to be acquainted with dr. sloan.

you gave him a small smile as dr. bailey dragged you into the chief’s office.

you were given a ran down about what you’ll do for the rest of your intern year.

to say that you adjusted quite perfectly in seattle grace was an understatement. you easily became friends with meredith and the other interns.

“look at sloan being all dreamy but y/n still has no idea what’s he doing.” meredith said as she and christina eyes you from the table talking to mark in line to get some food.

“hey dr. y/l/n, can’t say that you have been under my service since you got here.” mark spoke to you sweetly.

“oh yeah, i’ve been mainly under dr. montogemery’s service.” you replied not even giving mark a glance as you grabbed the apple juice.

“see ya later dr. sloan!” bidding him goodbye.

few weeks passed, you were finally under mark’s service, he was giddy to see you asking for his patients’ charts.

“y/n he’s totally flirting with you again.” christina whispered which made you blush and this doesn’t go unnoticed by mark.

“well what do we have here, dr. y/l/n. happy to have you on my service.” he spoke as he smirked at you.

since that day, he pestered you more and grabbed every chance he got to speak with you. when you were assigned in the ER with him as a fellow and he called for you every time.

“heading out now dr. y/l/n?” he said as he got in the elevator with you.

you smiled at and nodded as a reply, you were getting shy as christina and meredith pointed out that mark has been flirting with you since you started to work and you didn’t notice until they pointed it out.

“wanna go grab dinner y/n?” he asked looking at you intently as he anticipated your answer.

“oh…uh sure, dr. sloan”

“just mark” he said smirking.

you started to entertain mark, in which meredith and christina warned you about mark’s history before you arrived.

“i have nothing to loose, if he wants to be with other people then ill leave him be.”

you and mark started to go out more, this started your relationship with mark.

he gave you all of his attention and you gave him yours.

you were sleeping on an on-call room when mark came in. he was quietly calling for you on each on-call room as he wanted to have lunch with you.

he found you, sleeping so soundly.

“hey…babe.”

“come on let’s get lunch.” nudging you to wake up.

you just grumbled and turned your back on him.

“come on they’re serving mashed potatoes today.”

this caught your attention and stood up, you straightened your scrubs and started to head out the door when mark grabbed you by the wrist and captured your lips and started to kiss you deeply.

a/n: just a drabble, getting a little rusty. wanted this one out of my head.

it’s been seven years since you have graduated highschool yet you’re still in touch with your friends during highschool.

but you’re trying to distance yourself since you broke up with tetsurō eight months ago.

you were together since the second year of high school. he was your first love and you were his.

you promised each others’ future.

but that everything changed when you wanted to broaden your horizons and move to another country for a job opportunity. and kuroo couldn’t stand the fact that you were willing to leave everything behind.

“you’re seriously going to choose your career over me y/n?”

“i can’t believe that you would even let me pick tetsu…” you said sobbing in disbelief.

“i—i can’t believe that we would get to this point… i was just thinking about for our future.”

“well, y/n, if you’re going to choose your career over me we’re done.” he coldly replied as he walked out of your shared apartment.

now, you were walking at a cafe where you and your friends were going to have a small gathering, just to catch up.

the only thing that convinced you to join them was that they assured that kuroo wouldn’t be able to join since he had a prior commitment.

but moments later, as you and your friends were settling down, he suddenly arrived.

kuroo arrived with someone.

he introduced her as his girlfriend, you signaled your friend that you’ll be fine.

but it wasn’t fine.

you were staying just so they wouldn’t think that you weren’t mature enough to be civil.

it was difficult to hear from kuroo that commitment was easy if the person was right for you. you received glances from your friends, kenma even wanted to speak up. but you stopped them.

you wouldn’t forgive yourself if this will be the cause of friendship rifts.

hours of talking and catching up, kuroo approached you.

a month has passed and you've managed to find a place that you and lucas loved and it's close to meredith's place. moving to seattle made you leave most of your furniture back in baltimore.

scanning thru the couches you heard your child calling for you. he attached himself to your leg. "mama! i missed you!"

laughing at his antics, you looked around to check who was with him. "how did you get here, sweetie?" picking him up from the ground. "uncle alex brought me here!"

looking around once more, you saw alex out of breath. "i thought i lost you bud."

"hey."

"mer said you'd be out picking out furniture, then he started to look you and asked me to bring him."

the three of you ended up to look around for furniture. alex said he wouldn't mind to stick around and help you bring the stuff you bought home.

as you were paying at the cashier, alex carrying your child as he feel asleep from running around and picking his own stuff for his room. "moving in to your new home?" the staff said as he punched in the stuff you chose. you nodded as a response.

"you've got a beautiful family ma'am." the staff added.

"oh! we-- uhmm. yeah."

arriving at your new home. bringing micheal up to your room as he still slept. alex carrying some of the stuff you bought inside.

"hey. wanna eat?" offering him the leftovers you had from last night. he agreed and you set the table.

the both of you almost finished eating when you broke the silence.

"alex i-"

sighing, you continued. "i never apologized to you after we, uhh... broke up. i was an ass. walking out like that. so i'm sorry."

"and i also want to thank you. you've been so kind to us. especially with micheal. so thank you."

he looked at you, showing that crooked smile he has. "y/n i love you."

you almost spat your water when you heard what alex said. "i-i still love you y/n.”

"i can't forgive myself for letting you go the last time and now that you're here again. i can't bear to loose you again."

"i know this seems so sudden but i want you to know. i love you y/n. i love lucas."

"and i want to be with the two of you, if you let me."

you couldn't speak. his confession caught you off guard. you didn't think that even after you left him, he still loves you and you still love him too. within those five years when you were in baltimore, there was never a day that you hadn't thought about the what if you hadn't left him.

"yes."

"of course. yes."

"i mean i'd be so stupid if i won't let you know that, i...i still love you too, alex."

he stood up from his seat and caught you in an embrace. "you were never this clingy though." teasing him.

"just... let me y/n."

a few weeks passed. alex was coming over to your house every day. helping you clean up and set up the house to feel more like home as he said.

"i never see you at home." meredith said as she caught alex by the nurses station. "i'm helping y/n out."

"are you two?"

"we're dating again." he replied shortly not looking up the tablet he was holding.

"about time!" meredith cheered

after a whole day of running around the hospital, the three of you were eating dinner listening to lucas’ absurd story about what he and bailey did together in daycare.

"lucas, sweetie."

you and alex were planning to tell him about your relationship. "we have something very important to tell you."

he looked at the both of curiously. "uncle alex and i are dating. which means he's my boyfriend."

"does that mean you are going to get married?" he asked, still confused. "well, uhh that's..."

"that will be in the future, champ." your child smiles somehow getting the thought of what you just told him. "uncle alex loves mama and mama loves uncle alex?"

"that went great right?" you said slumping your head on his shoulder ad the two of you were cleaning up the kitchen. "he's a three year old."

alex moved in after lucas asked him over ice cream. the three of you lived happily, there may be some mishaps when you and alex argued about something but you talked it over with him properly.

now, almost a year had passed and you've never been happier.

you were walking through the lobby with lucas as alex caught the two of you. taking one of the bags you were holding and taking your hand.

"heading home?"

the three of you headed to the car with lucas showing the two of you what he made for arts and crafts day at daycare.

your flight was not until tomorrow evening, so meredith proposed that you and everyone, and by everyone, you, her, alex and the kids, have a small dinner party.

of course you were on cooking duty. meredith were giving the kids snacks and juice boxes. well, alex, he's sitting by the counter drinking his beer.

"god, you really can't stay? y/n i'll pay you. you can just stay and cook for us."

"mer, no."

the three of you laughed, reminiscing the times you had with them and the rest of your friends during intern year. the way they were crazy just so you'll cook a decent meal for everyone.

you were done with dinner and meredith offered to send the kids to bed. you were cleaning up in the kitchen quietly, when alex entered.

"hey"

nodding at him, acknowledging his presence.

"dinner was great."

"im glad you liked it." you replied and smiling at him briefly. "it'll be great you have you around again, y/n."

after you finished cleaning up, you tried to catch some sleep before waking up at 4am to cook a decent meal for mer, the kids and as much as you hate to admit, for alex.

they woke up to notes stuck on the fridge door which is most certainly from you.

you were now back in baltimore, going straight to the hospital just after dropping off your luggage and getting a babysitter for your child.

spending the day back was not like how you spent hours in the OR back in seattle. you tried to brush it off, but knowing that deep inside, you know that grey-sloan will always be your home.

you gave yourself a month to decide, whether you stay or go.

you had the day off, so you to spent the day with lucas walking around the shops near your apartment.

"hey sweetheart"

"yes mama?"

the both of you decided to eat ice cream and make sundaes.

"what if we moved to seattle?"

"to auntie mer's house?"

"no... but close to them."

you were slowly packing your things, when you're mother decided to visit you. "what is going on?"

"we're packing."

"we... we're moving to seattle."

"look mom, i don't want to fight with you guys anymore. so, please let me do this." she sighed before speaking. "are you really that miserable when you moved here with us?"

you smiled sadly at her. "our little stay in seattle made me and lucas happier."

she agreed, although she still said some things but she also said that she'll talk to your father.

meredith also offered that some of your stuff would be sent to her house before you guys arrived.

the both of you arrived safely, meredith and alex came to pick you up at the airport. "welcome back." meredith said as soon as you approached them. "it's nice to be back."

"what did your parents say?" meredith whispered as she helped you with your luggages. "had a small fight, one of them saying i should make sure that i won't be going back crying?"

"all set?" alex interrupting you and meredith's laughing fit.

you and lucas were dropped off as the both of them were needed back at the hospital and telling them that you had appointments to check out the houses you were considering.

the days you spent on meredith's house, you finally met amelia and maggie. after your small dinner that meredith somehow made, you made your way back to the room.

"hey. we're stealing your room again."

"it's fine. welcome back y/n."

over the next few weeks, you and alex started to talk to each other again. no more small talks. just normal conversations.

"alex!"

"can you pick up lucas from daycare? i have this surgery and it's going to be long."

"yeah. that would be great! thanks!" with that you dashed to go back to the surgical floor.

what alex didn't know, amelia and meredith saw the whole thing, how you talked to each other like it was always your routine.

"why don't you just stop sleeping on the couch and go back to your room. lucas has been sleeping with bailey for days now." meredith said pitching in.

after that unusual talk with lucas, you started to pack all the things the both of you have. good thing that meredith had an intern get your stuff from the hotel.

you were now just waiting for the papers for discharge and you're ready to go. meredith offered the both of you to stay at her house for a day or two, just so lucas won't be too tired when the both of you go back to boston.

"is uncle alex coming back?" he asked fumbling with one of his toy cars. "he promised to play with you before we go right?" hoping that you convinced him enough not to be mopey.

after a half an hour, the papers are now done. the nurse said you can stay until meredith gets out, so the both of you were still stuck inside the room.

"i heard there's a playroom around here. you want to check it out?" he agreed, but as the both of you were heading out of the room an intern approached you.

"dr. y/l/n! dr. grey asked me to get you." he was out of breath from all the running.

"why?"

"we have a patient who needs an emergency bypass, but our on-call doctor is 40 minutes away and the patient can't wait." he explained still trying to catch his breath.

"can you stay with him? or are you also needed there?"

"n-no. i'll stay here with him. it's okay." you told lucas to be nice and wait for you there.

after you went down to where meredith was, alex arrived just as like he promised to your child. "where's his mom?"

"oh! dr. grey told me to get her, they're probably in the OR now." the intern explained. "go. i'll stay with him." alex said ushering the intern

to say that lucas wasn't to excited when he saw alex was a total lie. he quietly set up his toy cars in a line which alex took as a signal for them to play.

"uncle alex?"

"mama said you are special..."

"mama always tells me i'm special to her. does that mean my mama loves you too?" he asked alex looking at him expectantly.

alex didn't know what to say. or how he can process what micheal was talking about.

"i don't know about that, champ. your mama can only answer that."

alex ended up listening to his stories. it's mostly about his bed time and how you fixed his toy shark he has back home.

about an hour and a half more, you finally got out of surgery.

"i missed working with you." meredith happily said whilst slinging her arm on your shoulders.

"ew mer. you don't get sappy about these things."

"but i also missed working with you too." you replied.

you and meredith walked back to lucas’ room, since the two of were staying at her house for a day before you fly back.

"i'm going to miss playing with you uncle alex..."

"well, uncle alex lives at my house too lucas, so you've got more time playing with him."

hearing what meredith said you almost threw the bag you're holding at her. "i might have forgotten that tiny information." she whispered as she helped you with your bags.

you finally got your kid to sleep after letting him tell you what he did with alex all day. going out of the room and heading downstairs, you saw alex lounging on the couch. "hey, sorry we took your room for a night."

"it's fine."

"we're cool right?" he asked

"yeah. we're cool."
