Emerald Heist

“KEEP RUNNING!” Alexander Williams screamed as he ran through the halls of the Oslo Royal Palace. “WE’RE TRYING!” replied Magnus Eriksson as he and Earrings carried the Norwegian Emerald. Gunfire soon began to whiz by their heads as Norwegian Royal Guards began to chase the group through the palace. “ETTER DEM!” One of the Norwegian Royal Guards screamed to his fellow guards as he pointed at the fleeing Toppats. “ECHO-1, YOU AT THE EXTRACTION?!” Alexander screamed into his radio as he turned a corner. “Almost there sir” Miss DeMeanor (Echo-1) said over the radio “GOOD, CAUSE YOUR GOING TO BE GETTING VISITORS!” Alexander Williams said as he began to return fire at the guards. “I can hear that” Miss DeMeanor said. 10 hours Later Sounds of celebration are heard across the Toppat Airship as the great Norwegian Emerald is carted away to the Vault. Everyone was being gathered to the cockpit to celebrate the recent success, except for Alexander Williams. He sat in his cabin, looking over the files of the recent heist. Every little detail about the heist was in those files, acquired from bribed police officers and government officials. “Where did it all go wrong?” Alexander asked as he looked through the files. He looked almost desperate to find something that went wrong. As he looked over everything, he began to pull on his hair, attempting to tear it out. “How could I have let any of this happen? How could I have let them almost die? Why was I-” “Hey.” Alexander Williams stopped his little rant as he turned around to see who was there. In the doorway to his room stood Carol Cross, head enforcer of the Toppat Clan and close friend to Alexander. “Oh, hey cross.” Alexander said returning back to the files. “Everyone on the airship is going to celebrate the recent heist, why aren’t you?” Carol asked Alexander. “Yeah yeah, I just.....” Alexander began to trail as he tried to think of an excuse. “I just need to finish some paperwork is all, you can go and....” before Alexander could finish, Carol walked over and sat on his bed. “Alex, what’s wrong?” Carol asked him. Alexander sighed as he slumped back into his chair. “This was my first operation I had near total control over. When those alarms went off and we got chased by the guards, All I could think of was....” Alexander could barely finish his sentence as he sounded like he was about to cry. “Terrance?” Carol asked remembering how many of his heists ended. “Among other things” Alexander replied as he tried to calm himself down. Both sat there trying to process everything, before Carol finally spoke up. “Look, I understand you don’t want to end up like him, but you have to realize everybody makes mistakes. Compared to his operations, this was an absolute success, nobody was killed, and we actually achieved the goal. The best thing to do is look at this as a learning curve, learn from what mistakes you made here and try not to make those mistakes in later operations. You can’t just look at the negatives in life.” Carol said putting her hand on his shoulder. Alexander looked at Carol before sighing “I guess you’re right Carol. Thanks for this.” Alexander said. “You’re welcome, now come on, everyone would like to see the man who made this all possible.” Carol said while standing up and beginning to walk out the door. “I guess it wouldn’t too bad to be a part of that.” Alexander said getting up from his table. “Who knows, maybe you’ll finally ask out that crush you have, or you want me to ask?” Carol teased as Alexander joined her side. “You do, and I toss you over the Atlantic.” Alexander said in reply to that remark, almost blushing. Both him and carol laughed as they head to the Bridge.

How's the view from the airship? I'm absolutely terrified of heights, but I imagine it looks really pretty!

Alexander Williams: Oh yeah, the view is absolutely beautiful, your high enough that you can see almost everything. The best times are when it’s over cities at night, absolutely breath taking.

Alexander Williams: Why thank you, need them or I wouldn’t be able to see 5 feet in front of my face

This.. Feels like foreshadowing, but I'm going to ignore that feeling.

What are you guys doing on the airship at the moment?

Alexander Williams: Mostly we're just trying to recuperate from the failings of our diamond heist and plan for our next big heist. Next week we restock on supplies but other than that, nothing much else

He's the type of guy to try and do that, though, isn't he? Or at least send someone to try and do it

Alexander Williams: Even if he attempts it, who would be crazy enough to attempt an operation like that? This Airship is over 43 thousand feet in the air and is heavily guarded, only an idiot would attempt an operation like that.

Wow, he's a ruthless guy against crime. Does it worry you?

Alexander Williams: Honestly, not really. Though that bastard is tough on crime, we cover our tracks pretty well. The only way that man is pinning us to any crimes is if he breaks into this Airship.

How far do you think Smithsonian will take it to stop the crime syndicate? Do you think he'll let up in the slightest?

Alexander Williams: Oh, you clearly don't know Smithsonian.

Alexander Williams: Jefferson Smithsonian began his career in the 80s as a state legislator. In the 90s, he was elected as to the U.S Senate, where he quickly became popular amongst the inner circles of congress. in 94', he was a very vocal advocate for the Crime Bill, helping garner public support for the bill as it was in the Senate.

Alexander Williams: Last year, Smithsonian announced his plan to run for president on a "Tough on Crime" campaign, promising to take down crime syndicates that were operating in the country. The man won in a near landslide victory and a week after his inauguration, he began investigations into the Five Families in New York and authorized raids against the Philadelphia Crime Family. So no, Smithsonian will stop at nothing until we are gotten rid of and will likely do anything to stop us. It's funny, we help the U.S during the War, and this is how they repay us years later.

If you had to take a stab in the dark, how close do you think the Governement is on your trail of crimes?

Alexander Williams: Very close. Ever since Jefferson Smithsonian became president of the United States, that man has made it his goal to bring down the crime syndicates in the United States, and we are high up on his list.

So then, how did he see the criminal come in and take the diamond? Or, is he just as confused of what he saw to it all?

Alexander Williams: He was just as confused as everyone else; the guy was in the World War 2 section and couldn’t see that much from what he said. Hell, one report even says the guy was unconscious when it was going down, but like everything else, we can’t confirm it.

Do you have any friends on board with you?

Alexander Williams: Oh, I have too many to name in one sitting, but I can list off a few of them. There's Reginald, Geoffrey, Magnus, MacRush, DeMeanor, Blueberry, Carol, Sven, and can't forget Thomas.

If I may ask: Why take him after the heist? Will he hold some sort of importance to you guys?

Alexander Williams: After the heist's failure, we interviewed him as he was the only one, we could easily get in contact with. All the other security guards were well known, and he was the newest one there, so no one would question if he disappeared. If we did release him, he probably would have told the press about the heist and with Smithsonian on our tails, we couldn't risk it.

Alexander Williams: You mean David Panpa, yeah, he’s over there. Did you really think we would let his leave after knowing who we are and our operation?

What’s your favourite video game?

Alexander Williams: Like I said earlier, Sonic and Team Fortress 2 are my favorite.

Cuppa Joe never seemed like a guy to enjoy the Civilization series. What's your personal favorite gaming series?

Alexander Williams: Yeah, Cuppa Joe plays that game whenever he has off time in the tech department. As for my favorite Video Game, I have to say that one "Team Fortress 2" and Sonic the Hedgehog

I'd imagine it's a little annoying and stressful.

What do you do when you get down time? Any hobbies?

Alexander Williams: When I get time, I play on my Sega Genesis or my many Nintendo consoles, read alt-history novels, and watch TV. I actually am the one that got Cuppa Joe into the Civilization series
