Oh, how those words made her frown, secret experiment?! Heaven had never mentioned any of that to her, and as far as she knew, others. That explained so much, the reason for her torture in heaven all those years and now the dreaded nightmares that left her gasping for air if she dared to fall asleep. 

“T-That is....” Placing a hand on her head she tried to remember, anything. Could she really escape? “I am sorry but...I can’t take your word for it” She couldn’t trust many even if she wished so, Gabriel was kind, yes. She admired him, but the promises he gave were untrue unless he could prove it.

Frowning lightly at his words, Zuriels eyes scanned up to his face studying him for any fault in his words. “What do you mean?” It was as natural to dream as it was to have nightmares, that’s why she hated sleeping. Always had, always will, it terrified her to no end as there was no stopping the onslaught of dreaded torture her dreams would bring.

“That’s impossible as much as I would love to believe it” He was an archangel yes, but every being had it’s limits. “Besides...I have never known anything but those dreams...I doubt I would be able to dream of something..’happier’ even if I wanted to” there wasn’t much in her life right now that would account otherwise.

Bolting up into an upright position her first instinct was to look around the room with panicked eyes, searching for any danger as her ears rang turning back into the real world. “I-I...you?” He was in her dream?!

Thank Father is was a dream but heavens, it was so real it scared her even now.

Slowly catching her breath back to normal and taking in his words, Zuriel looked down at herself to make sure she was okay. The angel seemed to be, however her shaking hands seemed to betray her.

“Sadly...” she mumbled sighing “They are not uncommon...”

By the time he reached her, her body was a bloody mess. With a pool forming around her and eyes hovering open threatening to shut at any moment. 

It wasn’t just her vision which had become dark, the whole room seemed to darken with them, as if the darkness was closing in on a nightmare which should have lasted longer than this.

“G-G” her sounds were mere gurgles, choking on blood didn’t help really. As she felt his hand touch it turned from a shock of reality to a splitting pain through her skull as her head spun and Zuriel felt like she was falling into nothing.

And yes, how he did wake her with such a gasp the angel jumped up from her laying position, a cold sweat covering her body and breathing so heavy you’d think she was only drowning seconds ago.

“M-My apologies I did not mean to intrude” Quickly covering her eyes Zuriel turned away embarrassed at her mistake.

“I just...I came to...talk?”

“You could knock…” The trickster grinned, feeding the girl on his right before snapping, the two vanishing from his sides. 

The trickster sighed. “Can I help you?”

Snapping her eyes open, Zuriel turned her head towards the sound. Her vision had already began to go blurry from the pain. It couldn’t be?! 

So this wasn’t a dream?!

“G-Gabe-!” Cut off by the knife running down her neck and collarbone she gasped and squeezed her eyes shut. He couldn’t be here if this was a dream could he? Her dreams never ended with a rescue.

“Oh but I already have~” The voice echoed and boomed back the angels wicked grin turning to Gabriel for a moment t smirk at him before he roughly began stabbing at her legs, arms and abdomen, crazed laughter leaving him all the while as the red heads mind began becoming numb and unresponsive, a ‘last resort’ tactic her body had developed to block out the pain and not feel anything but a ringing in her ears.
