Alifonse’s Golden Ballad

The kingdom of the golden pearl resides in the English Channel, with a beautiful culture and a vast beauty of mermaids. Mermaid prince and princesses are taught how to love, and protect the ocean and the people they love. Their golden rule was that mermaids cant be in a relationship with humans, otherwise they’ll turn into bubbles… but one ruler in particular disagreed. 

Alifonse is the golden pearl mermaid prince, who’s sharp-witted but also a playfully flirty and bubbly individual who fell in love with a human one day. The human was walking near the white cliffs of Dover, when he spotted Alifonse. The two instantly fell in love and visited each other day and night. Soon, the mermaids of the English Channel soon found out about their relationship. One of Alifonse’s advisors came to his human lover and begged him to leave the shores, explaining that their relationship can hinder his status as a mermaid prince and could hinder their kingdom.

Alifonse only partially got the message, his human lover abruptly stopped visiting him and left. He felt heartbroken, wondering why he was abandoned out of the blue. He cried in his bedroom, his advisors as well as his people tried to tell him to forget about it and that he shouldn’t be in a relationship. But despite their good reasons and true intentions, Alifonse snapped. He questioned the missions of the mermaid prince and princesses and why he and the human needed to be separated because of such.

His hatred and pain began taking over, his hair and his pearl stained black. These emotions were so powerful and so great, that his pearl went out of control and triggered a seaquake that would eventually destroy his entire kingdom and kill all of his people. He was now a wanderer, lost in his own thoughts. One day he came across the pantharassa castle, locked away behind a gate. He found a key on the ground and began unlocking it. Little did he know by doing this, he would reawaken the dark powers within it. He soon joined sides with the sea demons, now seeking revenge on the human world and the mermaid world.

One day, 3 other mermaid prince/princesses found themselves in a mishap between them and the sea demons. The sea demons have summoned a tsunami that would destroy the city, despite defeating the sea demons, the tsunami was too powerful and too strong to take out. But there on the roof of a nearby opera house, Alifonse was the only one to stop it using his song. According to the others, he was there one moment then gone the next, and his song sounded powerful yet heartbreaking.

Following these recent events, Alifonse just so happened to find his human lover again. He threatened him and said that if he’s really worth it, to come down deep in the ocean to the dark castle where he resides. He offered him a key that’ll eventually guide him and help him breathe underwater. The same group of mermaid prince/princesses who saw him earlier, spotted his human lover enter the ocean with the key and followed him all the way to the dark castle. They had tried to stop him, but the barrier between them and the gates were too powerful. He captured him and took him inside the castle.

Alifonse would keep his human lover captured for a while until.. one day, 4 mermaids and their sidekicks entered in the castle to rescue their captured friends and Alifonse himself; despite them having little information what became of him. One of them convinced that he was their friend, Alifonse relented and sent them to the hall of mirrors. Eventually the mermaid was rescued by the others. Alifonse was soon distracted by piano playing by his lover, he demanded he’d stop playing that awful song. He began to make an attack, but was soon stopped by a mermaid prince who attempted to knock some sense into Alifonse. He tried weakening him with his song, but it was no use. He soon began flooding with realization, was attacking them really worth it? The atmosphere around them changed, all the other nearby mermaids came in, only to hear Alifonse’s voice and song become more peaceful. His peaceful side of his song caused his human lover to return back to reality, the two of them smiled. Shocked from his powerful hatred, he fell to the floor, on the verge of blacking out. Alifonse, worried, came to his side. The human explained that he never wanted to leave him behind, and thought it would hurt his kingdom. Alifonse was understanding of the situation, and promised that he won’t ever lose his identity as a mermaid prince. Love returned to him

Now allies with the mermaid prince and princesses, they all combined their hearts and awoken Aqua Regina. Alifonse confessed that he was the one that revived the chaos and darkness, and therefore he didn’t deserve to sing. Aqua Regina offered him his new powers, saying that he needed to save the souls of others and defeat the sea demons, and so he joined in with the others.

Golden Pearl Voice!

The dark castle began collapsing upon them after the battle, and all of the 7 mermaids escaped. Alifonse however, stopped in his tracks. He stated that he caused so much chaos and trouble for everyone and was the cause of cutting off communications between kingdoms, therefore he didn’t deserve to live. Despite this, he said that a new golden pearl mermaid would be born and take his place. He offered his pearl to one of the mermaids and said his final goodbye, swimming back to the collapsing castle.

Residing in the dark castle, he sung his last song as he perished. Everyone watched in shock and sadness, one of the mermaids said their final goodbye quietly as his singing had soon stopped.

The kids haven’t woken up. He hears no sounds of his siblings partying anymore. The night is still and young and his bed at his side, empty. He didn’t think that not having his wife by his side tonight would hit him this badly. In fact, he and the kids had a fun night even after she left to go have a party in her home world. 

However, he was suddenly getting random feelings that someone was attacking his wife and now has a dire need to thoughtlessly backhand someone across the room.
