Just had a terrible thought, Omori spoilers ahead.

Imagine being Mari's piano teacher. You're putting on a recital for your piano studio, and one of your best students is playing a duet with her brother. He's been at the last few lessons, and while you haven't had a proper conversation with the boy you can see the frustration on his face. And even worse, the frustration on Mari's face. She's always been hard on herself, but you see that she's applying that same standard to her brother too. Maybe you say something, maybe you don't.

Then the recital day arrives, and Mari doesn't show up. None of her friends do either. You call her parents, and they tell you she's not coming. They hang up before you can ask why, but their tone of voice tells you something is terribly wrong.

That thought lingers in the back of your mind as you introduce each student. Mari was supposed to play at the end of the recital, so without her the performance ends early. You can't shake the feeling that something is terribly wrong.

A few days later you get the news. To you it's obvious why she did it. It was right before the recital. Clearly you put too much pressure on her. You should've seen the signs. Should've talked to her parents about the lessons she had shared with her brother. Clearly her harshness on him had been a sign of something deeper.

This is something that would stick with you for years. Maybe you would skip her funeral. Her family would certainly blame you. Every student has to be treated with caution. The worry that you'll push them too hard hangs like a cloud over every lesson.

And the worst part is, it was all an accident. You weren't responsible at all. And you'll never know.

I know this is usually an Omori blog, but Look Back just released on Amazon Prime and I have to recommend it. Especially if you're a creative, or you love animation, or you just feel like crying. It's a beautiful movie. It's also short, just under an hour.

I like to imagine that Roboheart can’t be toasted the way other Headspace residents can. Since she’s not biological at all, she just sustains physical damage. It’s why she didn't get toasted in chapter 18 (which meant she could jam the other hearts back to life), and why her voice got damaged and needed specialty repairs.

Unfortunately she also can't eat food to regain health, so if she gets hurt it's much worse :(

Okay, to start this off, I want to say that the Omori orchestra concert livestream was absolutely amazing, and it was so cool seeing so many talented musicians coming together to really give the music from Omori the respect it deserves. However, I have one complaint about the whole thing.

There is no way these instrument choices are right!!! I mean sure Sunny playing violin and Mari playing piano is specifically canon, but Aubrey playing the double bass??? Hero and Kel on percussion??? Basil on flute is on thin ice for me. I already have headcanons for what instrument each member of the gang would play, and I'm planning on writing a fic some day about them putting together a chamber ensemble a few years after the events of the game, so this art drives me crazy! I just don't buy it.

Although, in hindsight, these are clearly the DW versions of them. My headcanon is for the RW versions, which are definitely very different. Hmmmmmmm

There's an annoying voice in my head that keeps shipping Sweetheart and Perfectheart together, because they have all the chemistry and I enjoy their banter. But it's not that kind of chemistry! They're just really good for each other. Sweetheart needs someone who's not a romantic interest (who's also physically stronger than her) to help her figure out what's right and wrong. And Perfectheart sees Sweetheart's imperfection and grows to understand where it comes from. She realizes that Sweetheart isn't just a one-dimensional jerk. A jerk, sometimes, but not one dimensional.

Also I totally see all the hearts as sisters. Shipping any of them together ends up ruining the family dynamic. There's just an annoying part of my brain that insists on shipping any two characters that spend time together and don't hate each other.

On the flip side, I'm still figuring out who I ship each heart with. I went into writing my story with a fairly clear relationship endgame in mind, but with the way things are playing out I'm less sure. I'm a pantser at heart I guess.

Just posted a new chapter, The Librarian (Part 3)!

Abbi being the curator of Sunny's memory palace is one of my personal favourite headcanons. It combines the mystery of the Lost Library with one of the most mysterious characters in Headspace. It's always super satisfying imagining headcanons that fit into the lore provided by the game. It's like putting together a puzzle.

If the source material for a fic I'm writing doesn't use swear words, I won't use them either because they feel completely out of place. However, there's been so many times in A Rose of Many Thorns when I really wish I could. Especially for comedic purposes. There's something hilarious about Sweetheart saying "what the fuck" after something inexplicable happens. I've also had to refrain from referring to Sweetheart as a "pompous prick", and calling some of her actions "dick moves". Sometimes when it's particularly late at night and I can't think of words I'll leave in a "holy shit" and replace it the next day.
