Since release for Keir and Cirrus' second chapters is drawing near, it's time to bring out these bad boys again. Here's four character profile cards to refresh yourself on these handsome fellas (it's been a while for some of them 😅), and a blank card that I am certain y'all can make excellent use of!

Uhm drunk mhin headcanons if nobody asked for it..( ◜‿◝ )♡
Nobody has! Here ya go (˶ > ₃ < ˶)♡
TW: Alcohol (Obvi) Small note: I think it goes without saying, but this ain't romanticising addiction.
🕊 Whatever it is that got them drunk has to be strong.
🕊 Not because they handle alcohol well, no. Mainly because they're used to being hyper-aware of their surroundings and in control of their actions.
🕊 They are quiet… until they aren’t
🕊 Their normally sharp senses are dulled, their movements clumsy and uncoordinated. They look slightly disheveled and dazed; the edges of their vision’s slightly blurry and their head is swimming.
🕊 *stare…*
🕊 Their glare shifts from cold to something slightly flustered and aloof.
🕊 And even pink flushes against their cheeks — it’s borderline adorable gqbuifcsgbfcu
🕊 They are so squishable
🕊 POUTY
🕊 Definitely more relaxed, easygoing and less threatening — perhaps to the point where they are willing to hold an almost normal conversation with Ais
🕊 If offered anything sketchy they’re give the other a deadpan look that morphs into annoyance.
🕊 They’re not that incapacitated, come on.
🕊 Even if they were, it’s highly unlikely to accept anything that’s not out of Kuras’ hand (force of habit strikes in)
🕊 The only difference would be them talking.
🕊 and I mean talking
🕊 no filter
🕊 Alchemical experiments, anatomy, cats, the stars, whatever’s interesting to them. You just have to smile and nod and they can go until the alcohol wears off or until they’re out cold.
🕊 If Vere tries to mock–flirt, they flirt back
🕊 and then they laugh
🕊 not just giggle, actually, truly laugh. With that beautiful, tinkly “jingle of fairy bells” laugh that rings through the silence.
🕊 Vere is left speechless
🕊 Everyone is stunned
🕊 “Alright, that’s enough drinks for you,” Mama hen Kuras has to intervene.
🕊 w h i n e y
🕊 “I’ll just… just one more? Please?”
🕊 I dare you to say no to those eyes
🕊 I dare you
🕊 Stronger people have been brought down by less
🕊 Next day they lay sprawled across the bed, a hell of a hangover pounding in their head.
🕊 “...I’m fine.”
🕊 They’re not

thanks for the headcannons
Let's talk more about MC's curse. It looks like a thunderstorm...? Why is it yellow? What's that blue hue? There's also lots of black (so pretty)
MC's touch can drive people mad. How it works exactly?
I'm stretching this a lot, but I think it'd be interesting if MC gives others electrical shocks. However, instead of burning whoever they are touching, the injury only affects the brain
Maybe the reason why the hands are literally black is because the skin is burned but MC can't feel it (or they're just naturally like that)
Also, for some reason, the curse's design reminds me a little of what the nervous system looks like in real life. I won't show any images because it's a little gory, but google it if anyone is curious

I wonder what horrors he's apathetically looking at :3
Anyone notice that Leander's birthday essentially lands on the Summer Solstice? (The Summer Solstice falls on either June 20th or June 21st depending on the year). I wonder if that's a coincidence or not...

I did all three backstories for Touchstarved (I have 12 hours on this thing and it's only the demo)
Kuras and Vere don't seem to have red options, but Vere does have a secret ending and Kuras... I don't know, holds you for a bit longer?
For Mhin, it really is just picking The Alchemist backstory. You can call them short or whatever and you'll still get it.
For Leander, you have to take the flowers and keep touching him. It's okay if you hold back the first time even.
For Ais, you gotta tell him fuck you and pet the soulless, and after that red option pretty much all yours.
Differences I found between the three backstories:
It is pretty much like how they tell you, Oracle gets premonitions, Hound has experience with people and survival, and Alchemist has knowledge about magic and science, so there's different things you find out with each one.
The Alchemist:
I may be a little bit biased, but think The Alchemist is the most informative (It's also the first one I picked). There's the expected info of noticing that Vere's collar is enchanted, or knowing about how strong Leander really is when it comes to magic, but it's got the added bonus of MC's mentor having been in the Senobium in the past.
Compared to the others, The Alchemist is more familiar with Senobium, albeit through word of mouth. It's interesting how many times the MC says something similar to "I didn't know the Senobium did that." It calls into question whether MC's teacher was lying, or more interestingly (and what I think might be the case), the Senobium has changed a lot recently. It's talked about, even without the Alchemist backstory, that the Senobium used to be somewhere you could go to for help, but now most of the characters you meet do not like the Senobium, so what changed?
The Hound:
The Hound (the least popular option, apparently) was pretty fun. The Hound notices more about Ais, specifically that he's very suited to be a leader, and that the number of scars he has (one) seems suspicious for his temperament (or "how seasoned he acts", as the MC puts it).
One thing that I found very fun was doing Mhin's route as the Hound. They're somewhat able to keep up! They can (or tried to) recognize tells, and noted that Mhin was one of the few people who was able to sneak up on them. They also weren't sure how Vere managed to get their key. They were also prepared to steal to survive.
The Oracle:
While The Hound notices physical things, the Oracle notices... how do you say, otherworldly things. The Seaspring seems to be hiding a lot (of course it is), but the MC notices a heartbeat. A presence. They feel something from Ais. The name Ocudeus means something, they can feel it. They feel like they can see Ais' tattoo move.
Also, the MC feels something from Mhin and Kuras (in his clinic at least), which is interesting!
If I had to decide which love interest was better with which backstory...
Vere: The fact that the Alchemist thought that they could tell what enchantments were on his collar if only they could touch it feels promising! And both their connections (though I mean connection in the loosest term for MC here) to the Senobium makes it feel like you might very well find something.
The Hound might be one of the few who can actually survive this guy if I'm gonna be honest. (I mean you can still get killed by him but. You know.)
Ais: The Oracle's sixth sense makes going to the Seaspring a lot more interesting compared to the others, and the way they can feel something from Ais is very cool.
The Hound can tell his character better than the others, and I wonder how that will come into play later on.
Kuras: The Alchemist knows their way around spell-crafting and alchemy (When I picked this I wondered if they would be able to help Kuras around the clinic, which doesn't happen, but hey it might).
The Oracle seems to also feel something from him.
Mhin: First things first, their red option literally requires you to have the Alchemist backstory. Mhin's precision is noticed by the other MCs sure, but not to that detail.
Watching the Hound observe where they could be was so fun to watch. It feels like this MC will be able to keep up.
The Oracle feels something from Mhin, something inhuman.
Leander: The Alchemist was able to tell that the flash of magic was a barrier spell, and that most magic (or at least the ones they're familiar with) uses an incantation or spell circle. His didn't.
But either way, there will be things to find no matter the backstory you choose, and all of the character's stories are intertwined, so don't let this dissuade you from a specific backstory! There will always be things to find, you just need to look.
Extra: I found it pretty cool how each MC has a different way of knowing what a Groupmind is. Story-wise this makes sense of course, but each of their reactions to it are slightly different, from I heard this from rumours of people in cults (Hound), to I used to be told I could put people in a groupmind (Oracle), to legends suggest it was possible with a strong enough catalyst but it's never been done before (Alchemist).
Also, it's interesting to know what they each think of surroundings (specifically the Amaryllis district). They all have different opinions from I used to be told bizarre things about this place and now I kinda get it (Alchemist), to it's not that different from the place I grew up in (Hound), to it's VERY different from where I grew up in (Oracle).
And if I'm not mistaken, the reason Vere gives for your desperation is different for all of them!
You can find gameplay from me on my Youtube channel, or watch me getting all the red options and secret ending here:
youtube
I didn't read it out loud cause my mic sorta sucks and sometimes it peaks and gets a bit shrill. Also you see how my mouse moves sometimes? It means I'm screaming. I don't think I'd have been able to keep calm enough for this. Also my reading kinda sucks anyway hope you like it lol

This has been stewing in the back of my mind for so long.
Like how could a being as old and wise as Kuras not be aware of Leander's overall sketchiness.
I don’t know if people have pointed this out but. What if Kuras knows how terrible Leander is behind the scenes, but believes that the ends justify the means and allows it. Kuras admits that the Bloodhounds are “questionable,” and in reply to MC’s opinion of them says “Leander always preferred the company of those like him.” So Kuras is inadvertently admitting that Leander does questionable things, right?
I ignored Kuras not getting dinner with Leander since five years ago as Kuras being a workaholic and avoid eating, but now thinking about it, what if Kuras found out about Leander’s dark sides and decided he won’t associate with Leander other than for business. It would be a waste to cut ties since Leander is reliable.
It really brings me back to this phrase: Which is worse, the one who commits the crime or the one who can stop it but chooses not to. And Leander might not be the only one Kuras turns a blind eye to, and maybe even awful things he himself does he’ll bypass if it means it’s justified, since we see that Kuras actions are heavily governed by his moral compass.
That’s really terrifying considering he’s lived for a thousand years, maybe more.

I'm going to headcannon this now.
I dunno what I'll do with it, but I have it now for safekeeping.
Thanks.
The way Vere's birthday sketch for Kuras is a single rendered drawing likely from memory, versus Mhin's having multiple attempts because they haven't spent much time together and it's drawn from his imagination...

Ur right. How did i not notice this.
anyone barely mentions this petty ass dialogue from mhin. i think it's the funniest thing because you just know they pulled their hood down knowing they're about to deliver the biggest blow to vere's ego

Monsters Dancing with Monsters
(Happy birthday Mhin!!! Tho this is technically a Kuras x GN!Reader fic, but Mhin's part is at the beginning, so kinda cheating....... anyway i hope you enjoy :D)
Also this prompts the question:
What kind of dances do you think the TS lads would specialize in?
--------------------------------------------
Maybe it’s something in the air that has them feeling weightless.
But it’s probably something to do with the alcohol their system.
It’s making them feel freer.
Bolder too.
How they managed to get Mhin reluctantly dancing on the floor with would forever be a mystery to a more sobered version of themself, but one they will indulge in fully for as long as their pale-haired friend will humor them for.
They glide around in simple tango, or what can just barely be considered a tango, thanks to Mhin’s measured and steady guidance. A small part of them laments the fact that they very well would have gotten the opportunity to experience the unknown dance prowess of their friend apparently has had they been less wobbly on their feet, but they are admittedly too pleasantly buzzed to frankly give a damn.
The pair of them weren’t the only ones at the bar today.
They glance towards the crowd against the bar.
A chanced look, spying over horn and ears has them locking eyes with familiar eyes. The doctor greets them with a soft look and a curled smile, touched with warmth and possibly affection? (At least theyd like to think so.)
It has them laughing and swinging a dismayed Mhin harder.
A careless step has the both of them near tumbling, had it not been for slender, deft hands wrapping around them. They drape both arms over their partner’s shoulders, clinging and laughing to a cringing Mhin before burying their face into the crook of their dance partner’s shoulder. The pair settles into a slow sway. They feel the alchemist ease slightly once they find a comfortable rhythm, muttering soft complaints and scolding words with little heat. They giggle against Mhin’s neck.....
Read the rest here (cause it's kinda long):

ohhhhh yeah ok, that explains the eyes
"You have better things to do, but...thank y—did it just blink?"
Mhin is touched by Kuras's effort. And with your help, the cake almost looks edible. Yet there's an uncanny look in its eyes, as if begging for its own demise...
Happy Valentine's Day!

reblogging for the headcannons in the comments
my swap au because I've been Pondering:
Ais->Leander: He's the rough yet charismatic leader of the Seaspring, much more lively and boisterous than og Ais, partly because he does actually have a gang!! He still has a deal with Ocudeus and many of his gang members are part of the Seaspring, but he does have some sane ones... For now.
Leander->Ais: Former leader of the Bloodhounds, now spiteful and moping in the nearest run-down bar. The Senobium took down his gang since he was getting a little too "confident", but he's still trying to find a way to take them down (while drinking the pain away)
Kuras->Mhin: A wandering angel trying to atone for his sins by destroying the "filth" from the Underworld. He believes if he kills enough of them or suffers long enough, he'll be saved at long last.
Mhin->Vere: The Senobium's newest pet, a desperate fledgling who was caught when trying to escape their curse. Mhin isn't quite as old as Vere, but they've been around long enough to start resigning to their new job and their cursed—yet somewhat useful—power.
Vere->Kuras: Honestly idk everyone else's switch kiiiinda clicks into place except for his. I was gonna say he found himself pitying the poor or something and that's why he became Low-towns' doctor but like that's so noble it feels wrong on Vere yk. Please help. I do know his healing hurts like hell tho (think Marcille from Dunmeshi, like yeah her healing does the job but it's still torture)

I think the Leander and Vere options work really well.
Chase for Kuras is decent, but i hc him to have a softer-countenance, but still rich and commanding. Or even a thicker voice.
