Character sheets from my 100 days of making comics challenge. They are messy but since I let myself not be perfect I had a lot of fun 🤩

This panel is why Frobin will always be the only Robin ship I enjoy. I know the chances of them ever being canon is closer to 0 than not, but I can't just pretend their entire dynamic in Eneis Lobby didn't stand out to me. Especially since this is how we are introduced to Franky & the idea of him being part of the strawhats. He's known Robin the least out of anyone else in the crew at this point and yet Oda chose him to be right by her side through most of the arc. He chose him to be the one to have the background needed to know exactly what she's feeling & understand the type of words she needed to hear. Oda chose Franky to be the first person to tell Robin her existing in the world is not a good enough reason for the government to try and kill her.

Robin is also the character used to integrate Franky into the crew and that seems really fucking significant to me considering literally every other strawhat did that through their relationship with Luffy. Yea Luffy still had to ask him, but he had secured his spot via Robin. She literally tries to drag him by the balls to get him on the ship and y'all want me to NOT look into their relationship? You want me to NOT see something more than friendship between them?? Impossible.

I gotta say I'm obsessed with what Luffy does to the typical "sunshine" character trope, in that he's an exception to the usual portrayal but perhaps the most true to it of anyone. He's not "sunshine" as in pure niceness and sweetness and innocence. He's sunshine as in The Sun.

He's joy and light and warmth, illuminating all the beauty of the world, but he's also powerful enough to kill and blind and burn. He's an everyday annoyance. He's the strongest force of nature that exists. His happiness shines bright for miles. So does his rage. You could look at him wrong and be screwed up for life. You never want to live without him.

I can't get over this.

Man, we have got to stop treating art like it has an expiration date. That show stopped airing? Doesn’t mean it can’t haunt your every waking thought. Everybody’s into this album, but you don’t have the energy for new music right now? It’ll be waiting for you when you’re ready. That movie’s fifty years old and indie as shit? Incredible, you have the chance to share it with folks who might never otherwise feel that particular punch of delight. Books don’t go bad. Shows inspire fandoms decades after they’ve wrapped up. We’re still looking at cave paintings and statue work from ancient times and letting the joy of creation bring tears to our eyes. That’s the point of art. It’s as close to immortality as we ever get. Why try to give that magic a shelf life?

[A tiny Robot Robin]

The day had been exhausting for Robin.She barely touched her dinner, retreating to her room earlier than usual.

As she closed the door behind her, Robin let out a sigh.But her tired eyes immediately caught something unusual on her desk.

There, standing proudly in the lamplight, was a tiny robot. It was unmistakably crafted to look like her,delicate yet comical, with exaggerated features. Its tiny face wore the widest, goofiest smile imaginable, its hands raised in triumph as if cheering her on.

Robin stared at it for a moment, stunned. Then, before she could stop herself, a soft giggle escaped her lips. The unexpected sweetness of the gesture, melted the heaviness of her day.

Beside the little robot was a note, scrawled in bold, familiar handwriting:

"This SUPER smile suits you better."

Robin didn’t have to wonder who had made it. She ran her fingers over the note, her lips curving into a genuine smile that mirrored the robot’s.

“Franky…” she murmured softly, her heart warming at the thought of him creating this just for her.

She picked up the little robot, turning it in her hands. It even had tiny, movable arms that waved when she tilted it. Robin chuckled again, setting it back down on her desk.

The weight of the day seemed to lift as she sat on the edge of her bed, her gaze lingering on the cheerful little creation. She whould thank Franky in her own way tomorrow.

In the quiet of the ship, somewhere in his workshop, Franky grinned to himself. He didn’t need to see her reaction to know his plan had worked. “Mission accomplished,” he muttered before getting back to work.
