For those who enjoy our videos, we have the perfect TYPE of letterpress printed card for you! This card is great for Valentine’s Day or any other occasion!
The text used is all individual letters of 36 point type that has been locked in the chase. Top line of “You’re my” is Sans Serif type. The word “TYPE” is set in the following typefaces from left to right: Cloister Initials, Crayonette, Old Dutch, and Cloister Black. The electrotype (copy of a woodcut) of the birds is from the Lewis Winter Collection and it was made 130-135 years ago. The back of the card includes an image of a Washington hand press and the words “Printed at the Sacramento History Museum.” This card and other cards are available in our Museum Store!
This was letterpress printed in rhodamine red rubber base ink using a 3x5 Kelsey Excelsior tabletop printing press.

𝒻𝓇𝑜𝓂 𝓂𝑒 𝓉𝑜 𝓎𝑜𝓊…
my valentine's day collection is now live!
I think this collection turned out so adorable and I'm super proud of how the cutie lil prints turned out. The collection feels very cohesive together, but each print is so unique and stunning in their own way and it brings me so much joy! I've definitely been having the winter blues and this project has helped me stay creative and not focus only on all the awful things happening. Every step was literally so fun, from paper shopping, to carving the new blocks, to mixing the perfect ink colors. On the paper side, I've been wanted to experiment more with my paper as a way to add more color an interest to my work. Working in limited colors can be challenging with printmaking, but I feel the paper choices elevated this collection so so much :)
I'll be bringing my collection to sell at an in person market this weekend, but I wanted to share it online (here and instagram) first just in case anyone out there really wanted a piece. I tend to do well at in person markets, and all of these pieces are only editions of 3-5 so they likely won't be around long.
If you're looking for some cute art, or a Valentine's gift idea, please check out my website. Every piece is hard designed, carved, and printed by me! And if you just like my prints but can't afford anything or don't have space please share anyway :)
Happy Valentine's Day!

My lil Valentine’s collection is coming together so well. Very cutie!!!
Historically I don’t really sell well online, but I am planning to bring this collection to an in person market so maybe these prints won’t just collect dust in a drawer. My first time bringing special edition prints to an in person market also!
But even if they don’t sell they’re so pretty and were fun to make and reminded me I’m actually okay at art 🫶🏻
