One night, two exhibits - Valentine's Day choices
Tonight lots of things are happening in Tel Aviv. It's Valentine's day, but most people don't seem to care.
But they seem to care about arts. Or maybe because they are hoping to find a perfect date at the exhibit? In any case, seems like most of my friends are going to either of these two events.
1. Big gallery opening
GROUP EXHIBIT - CHAYIM AL HA KAV - EN ROUTE - TRA DUE MARI
Thursday, February 14th, 2013, 19:00 Ermanno Tedeschi Gallery Tel Aviv Lilienblum 3, Neve Zedek
2. Art sale at Minus 3, Rotchild 65.
Sales of Israeli artists' art from NIS 500 to NIS 5000.
See details at respective links. I am going to both events.
Will report.

Traveling multimedia art exhibition showcases thousands of images from Dutch artist's work
The show features 40-high definition screens and replications of practically all the masterpieces of Van Gogh, the 19thcentury post-impressionist.
Images fill giant screens, walls, columns, ceilings and even the floor. "Van Gogh Alive" was created in Australia. The interactive installation has already toured Turkey, Singapore and the United States, and will be on display at the Israel Trade Fairs and Convention Center in Tel Aviv until March 3.

It's Tziporela! The most awaited show in 2013 so far!
Tziporela brings Tel Aviv internationals hilarious theater in English!
We are going to the show this Monday, 28 January 2013, at 9 p.m. at the Tzavta Theater (Ibn Gvirol 30, http://tzavta.co.il/) in Tel Aviv. For a Facebook event, click here.
Info on the show
After eight years of sold-out performances all over Israel and most recently Australia, indie theatre troupe Tziporela is proud to present a new show that weaves together movement, music, and slapstick in a night of comedy that cuts across cultural lines.
I watched a bunch of videos prior to the show to see if it's something I want to see, and you bet! Here's one clip I liked:
The show’s premiere on December 15th, 2012 was a smashing success with an energetic standing ovation given by a full house.
The show is a combination of 16 theatrical sketches from two of the group’s existing shows – Hatkafat Lev and Akitza Tiv’eet – along with new material, and all of it is in English.
Members of the award-winning group met twelve years ago at Israel’s top acting studio Nissan Nativ and went on to form the outrageous Tziporela – a group of nine young and sexy guys and gals who write, direct and choreograph their successful shows as they offer audiences a theatrical approach to daily life with loads of nonsense and no reservations.
Hilarious video by Tziporela
The best part about Tziporela’s new show is that the group’s explosive energy transcends all barries – from age to culture to language.

Holon Museum of Design
Today we'll be exploring Design Museum of Holon.
From Wikipedia:
Design Museum Holon is the first museum in Israel dedicated to Design. The building of the museum was planned and designed by Israeli architect and industrial designer Ron Arad in cooperation with Bruno Asa. The museum is in the eastern part of the new culture area of Holon that includes the Médiathèque (central library, theater, cinémathèque). Nearby is the faculty of design in the Holon Institute of Technology.
The museum opened on 3 March 2010. That is the first building that was planned by Ron Arad.

Week Jan 13 to Jan 20 - Free Art Friday!
Hi guys!
This week I am featuring an amazing global phenomenon which started in Tel Aviv last year. Everyone loved it and so it's coming back!!!
So, this will be the second Free Art Friday in Tel Aviv, during which many art pieces will be spread throughout the streets of the city, waiting for people to find them on benches, trees, post offices, in allies and so on. The art works will have a tag with the artists' details and they can be taken free of charge. It's a non-profit event, which gives the artists complete freedom and aspires to receive pictures of the art works by the people who finds them, creating an international dialogue on Facebook. Further details can be found on Free Art Friday - Tel Aviv's Facebook page.
