The Age Old Question...

What does art mean to you?

I never liked answering this question for some strange reason. I didn’t like classifying it as some life changing talent, hobby or activity. To me, art was just part of who I was and who I am. Its not a hobby, pass time, or job, art is me.

My quick portrait sketch of Billie Eilish with some changes. Probably my most favorite of my Billie drawings.

I used a ballpoint pen, dual tip markers and a gel pen for this piece. 

Billie’s music has been a huge supportive force in my recent years. Struggling with certain emotions can cause a huge creative block sometimes. Using music as a release is a major thing. There are many other artists whose music lift me up and help me throughout certain tough times.

A Fresh Start

Hello everyone. Starting today I will be rebooting the blog page and slowly turn it into the artist blog I’d hoped it would be when I first started. I will be talking about a lot of varying subjects on this blog, mainly my own personal journey as an artist but also my history of mental illness and how art has been a huge escape and conduit for my emotions and stages in my life. 

I will also be writing about supplies that I use, techniques I feel are note worthy, my art process of completing pieces and much more. I will be trying to blog at least 2-3 times a week to start off, then hopefully move to blogging every day.

I also hope to be someone people can talk to on here about their art and their struggles. I’m a huge advocate for mental health, especially as someone who stills struggles with it on a daily basis. I don’t know if anyone would enjoy this blog or how much of a following I would have on here but I will continue on here as a personal goal for myself. 

I look forward to connecting with all of you on a deeper level than just likes, dislikes, reblogs and follows.
