a friendly reminder to all you multimuse rp blogs out there… it’s okay to not have motivation to write some muses on some days. it’s okay to put threads on hold because you want to focus on writing other muses. it’s okay to add more muses even though you may have some that you haven’t written yet. it’s okay to drop muses at any time even if it’s without warning. it’s okay.

Can you provide any advice to making a muse list for a beginner? Like, what;'s the best ways to make one and all that? I've seen people use google docs, but would that be a good thing to use? I hope this makes sense,
of course !! i've made many muse bios / muse lists, so I can share with you what I do, what I use, and what I've seen.
the very first thing that I do when I'm wanting to make a muse list / muse bio is I look for a template to use as an outline for my muse(s). usually, I just go to google and I type in "basic character sheet" and you'll get tons of options that you can pick from. even the ones labeled as "basic" are pretty detailed and I usually only use certain parts of the template.
( an example of a character sheet is usually:
name: age: birthday: gender: etc:                                                                          . )
i think just going through and filling out a small character sheet for your muse(s) is a great way for a beginner to start to get the gist of it all. that part is usually the bulk of what you'll need to do.
after that, you'll have to decide how you want to put up your lists/bios. for me, I have mine on my muses' blog pages - which i edit through the html, which is a whole different thing on it’s own. so if you're not comfortable with dealing with html codes or you’re not comfortable with too much editing, I would think that using google docs would be perfect for you !!
on google docs, you'd be able to make a template ( or find a template ) that you like, and you can construct your list - add and edit as you go. And all you would have to do is link your google docs somewhere on your blog where people will be able to find it. Most people usually link it in a post and pin that post so that it is always the first thing that is seen on their blog.
i know it's probably a lot of information being thrown at you, and I'm sorry if it sounds intimidating, but I promise that it's not !! you just have to find what is comfortable for you, look at other people's muse lists as examples. being a beginner in RP can seem daunting, but the rpc has lots of nice people that may be able to share a tip or two.
i hope this helps !!

The people that talk bad about straight ships are the same who will only ship mm not even ff. Shouldn't we embrace all ships and not act like another is gross? Everybody should be inclusive and not trash someone else's ships mf mm ff or otherwise. If the same was said about mm ships we all know what would happen. Have you ever experienced this in the rpc?
A terrible fact about the RPC is that people aren't as lenient with female muses as they are with male muses. Since I started RPing like a decade ago, I've noticed a growing sermon of "this female muse is a self-insert and a Mary-Sue, they only want to collect ships and godmod." I've seen this so many times in forum RPs, discord RPs, Tumblr RPs, etc. Yet, this rhetoric has never been applied to male muses as whole. This is where the base of this problem comes from.
I have seen a female muse get talked horribly about by someone that is praising a male muse for doing the exact same the female muse is doing. Needless to say, that was one person I cut ties with.
It's important to be inclusive. That's what the RPC claims to want to be, right? A het ship is never any threat to a gay ship, and vice versa. Just like it's not bad to be gay, it isn't bad to be straight. Let characters develop their ships, despite their sexual orientations.
I write a multitude of characters, but I have mostly male muses. I have only one active female muse and I've had issues on my female muse that I just don't have on my multiple male muses. At the time, I was starting to think that maybe my female as character isn't gaining people's attention? I worked on her for years, so I thought that it was a me problem.
So, I came up with the private idea ( that no one knew about ) of making another character with the exact same personality, the exact same characteristics, the exact same backstory, the exact same occupation into the exact same fandom as my female muse. But instead, I made the muse male. And this new male muse of mine that was a carbon copy of my female muse? People directly came and interacted with him in this particular fandom that didn't even look my female muse's way.
Trust me, I know there is a huge difference certain muses can be treated simply based on their gender, UNFORTUNATELY. Can this please be something that we work on as a community? I know some people who only wrote a female character that have abandoned their muse's blog because they didn't get basic interactions. Let people ship, no matter if their muses are mm, ff, mf, mnb, fnb, nbnb, or anything else.

Canon x OC ships are NOT a threat to your canon ships.
Canon & OC platonic ships are also NOT a threat your canon platonic ships, and certainly not to your romantic ships.
Stop policing people’s fun, regardless of if their muse(s) and/or their partner’s muse(s) are canon or original characters.
And remember: your favourite canon characters are someone else’s original characters (ie the people who originally created them; who’d’ve thought?).

Is there a good way to handle someone who is jealous of a ship you have with another mun? Overstepping boundaries, wanting to invade the ship and all around negative when they see it on dash.
Unfortunately, I know several RPers who has experienced something of this nature. I, too, have been on the receiving end of it. Jealousy like this can damage so many friendships in the rpc, and it's always best to put an end to it as soon as possible. Here are some tips to help solve this situation:
1. Is this person a close friend of yours? Someone that you know pretty well? Directly talk to them about them trying to invade your ships with other muns. That's where the rpc tends to have trouble these days - basic communication. Online, it's so much easier to ignore conversations. But if something can be solved by basic communication, it's not a bad thing to try to do so.
2. Redirect them to your rules. Is your muse multi-ship? Remind them of that. If it's in your rules, it's just proper RP etiquette for someone to heed it.
3. If all else fails and this person still decides to invade, it may just be best to cut ties with them and block them. Roleplaying is suppose to be fun and inspiring for you. If you feel terrible for writing a ship with a muse due to someone else's jealousy, don't let them ruin it for you. Your blog is your own peace.
Or, you know what? You don't owe anyone those first few steps. If you want to cut ties with them as soon as they pull those sorts of stunts, you're definitely within your rights to do so.

How do you feel about people who write a muse only because they feel they're better at that character than everyone else? I have seen this in the rpc before and it's a very entitled and belittling attitude against other roleplayers to have.
If someone chooses to write a character simply because they think they are "better at portraying them" than anyone else, I think that says more about the individual in question. Because a canon muse belongs to no one accept for their original creator. Everyone has different takes on characters and everyone has different writing styles.
Just because someone's writing styles differs from someone else doesn't mean that one is better than the other. There's so many variants when it comes to creative writing and it just isn't fair to say that your portrayal is better than others - for whatever reason. Everyone who writes a muses, writes them because they have muse for them and they would like to express it in their own ways.
Roleplayers should look to lift up their peers instead of knocking them down. The rpc suffers enough without belittling and senses of entitlement.

PSA.
ENGAGE WITH YOUR RP PARTNERS. like or comment on their posts, whether it be an ooc post or something they’ve posted about their character. reblog their promos. send them a meme or two when applicable. acknowledge when they answer memes for you. communicate when a plot or ship isn’t working for you. plot with them. engage with your rp partners. roleplay is a two way street, don’t just let the other person do everything while you put in the bare minimum. and if you’re not getting anything back from your partners, don’t let anyone guilt you into keeping them.

rp blogs may be pretty to follow but they are here to rp with others. most people will unfollow if you do not step forward to give interaction. muns are appreciative for new people and follows but their excitement dies when the person who followed them takes no effort or initiative to reach out. if you follow first it should be your interest to initiate. normalize rp blogs are not fic or wrtblr blogs. we're here to interact not free follow.
