Torn

My mind is filled with thoughts and images of you and her.

My chest is tight.

My throat is burning

My tears are uncontrollable.

I just want to forget

Thoughts of us cross my mind every so often

To that day we had spent together doing a whiskey tour/tasting

One of the few times we had been able to see one another since you had come back home.

Sitting next to you at the distillery

I had a drink in one hand and reached for your hand with the other.

You looked down and kissed me then took my hand intertwining our fingers together.

You told me you wanted a pictures of us together.

As you were about to take the picture you kissed me with your soft lips

Capturing an unforgettable moment of us.

While waiting for the tour to start

You were telling me you were thinking about getting into the whiskey making business.

And that booking this tour for him was perfect.

As the tour started you were so locked in

Absorbing the information and asking questions even giving your own opinions certain ingredient combinations

Throughout the whiskey tasting you never took your hands off me

Every couple minutes you’d rest your hand on my thigh or rub my back and shoulders.

When the tour was coming to an end we giggled like kids realizing that sanding up after sitting for little over an hour wasn’t the easiest with wobbly legs.

You took me in your arms, kissed me and thanked me for the experience.

Being able to see you enjoy yourself meant so much to me.

I will always cherish this day forever.
