Do not get defensive on op because your favorite is being critiqued. Listen to what they're saying before you respond. But I just want to know everyone else's thoughts because I know personally this gave me a different perspective.

I'm not 100% sure how I feel about MisMag. But I do want to say that they can't just slap the word parody on something and say that's enough to make it a critique. Crown of Candy doesn't critique Game of Thrones. Coffin Run doesn't critique vampires. Weird Al doesn't critique music. Parody is just adopting a style fir humorous effect. It contains no other meaningful engagement with the source material

exactly. Something being a parody doesn't make it a critique or satire. Something being BASED on something else doesn't even necessarily make it a parody. Like, you can't just pull together commonly used themes and pop culture environments and call something parody or satire. Is Anne of Green Gables a parody of Canada? Is Percy Jackson a parody of Mythology? Or are they just Set In Those Environments.

You NEED clarity of purpose, intent, execution, and message for satire. You need to actually have the insight and want to take a look at the source material, understand how it impacts the world, and use comedy and contrast to lay bare it's problems and impacts. There is a reason good satire is hard to do, and good satirists few and far between.

This is why without insight or input from actual trans women or Jewish people, mismag could never be satire. No one else has the experience in those identities enough to hold a mirror up to the source material and in any way create satire of it's issues. The Creator is attempting to say something in a conversation she simply doesn't have the experiences to speak about.

A love letter to a wildly misremembered transphobic childhood obsession isn't satire. Even if you say ""fuck terfs"".

Yeah the people reblogging how much they hated Shriek Week, I actually enjoyed it a lot. I'm not a Gabe fan, but I loved the PCs we got. Your comments not only feel rude to me, but honestly it's disrespectful to the cast and the people behind the scenes who put effort into that season. If you hate Shriek Week so much, make your own post about it. This post was a shoutout to those who enjoyed it, but now found it ruined because of Hicks's actions.

Nope still feel weird about it

I know this is supposed to be like THE fantasy high blog like literally in the description that all I post is Fantasy High. And I know a lot of people started following me for the cosplays, but ever since Dropout's silence and the countinued posting during global strikes just rubbed me the wrong way so if you're expecting my usual cosplay from 28daysofblackcosplay, I just don't feel right doing it as of now. And that also goes double for me posting on here. I am refraining from posting Palestine here for the sake of continuity on this blog, but I just don't feel like continuing to post in this fandom right now.

I just watched the Dndads episode of Dirty Laundry and oh my gosh I love the cast so much (I wish everyone was there) and this is just another request for them to be on Dimension 20 🤧

Now I may not have voiced it, but I was one of those people who were hesitant about Matt dming Dimension 20. But may I say, the Dimension 20 format really worked in his favor. I was thoroughly entertained and I enjoyed the back and forth between PCs and NPCs. I did not finish acoc (because of spoilers which kinda ruined the whole thing for me), but I feel like The Ravening War was still a whole story on it's own.

If I watched The Ravening War first then watched acoc, it would feel very cohesive. It was well done. Also the cast was amazing. Lou, Aabria, and Zac really stood out for me in this season. Overall, a chill season of Dimension 20.

And whoever sends me a clip of the "you lied" moment to me first will get a little kiss on the forehead.
