The Arcana During the Holidays!

Asra

They spend their holidays back at home in the shop, cuddled up under several blankets next to the fireplace, with faust, drinking warm tea and reading old books they found on one of their adventures

Julian

He spends his holidays with his family, at Portia's cottage, telling stories and eating food made by Mazelinka.

Nadia

She spends her holidays in the streets of Vesuvia, handing out blankets and warm food to anyone who needs it.

Portia

She spends her holidays in her cottage with her family, helping Mazelinka cook, and monitoring everyone's alcohol intake so we don't have a repeat of last year.

Muriel

He spends his holidays sleeping and ignoring all of the problems and festivities of the outside world. Until Morga drags him out for a nice dinner with family.

Lucio

He throws huge, over-the-top holiday balls, and invites everyone in Vesuvia and any neighboring nations to come. He never celebrated the holidays as a kid, and he finds the whole tradition amazing and uses it as an excuse to go all out for everyone. He invites Morga in person but she never comes.

They spend their holidays wasted off of their ass in their room, reading terrible vampire romance novels and purposefully ignoring both Lucio and Nadia.

Hi! Hello! Bonjour! My bestie and I talked about the coolness of the Mazelinka. And I remembered, as a child, I went to the Carpathians for the weekend. A local woman, hotel worker, fed the wolves. She fed them with what the guests had not eaten. So, the wolves ate brunza cheese and potato pancakes. Wild wolves from the 🦆ing forest (And I pet them!)

If any of the characters in the Arcana are capable of this, it is Mazelinka. We all know that the devil can be destroyed with a wooden spoon. Can we have HC about how wild and deadly animals of arcana universe get some 🥣 soup 🍲 (Maybe they are fed from the same spoon). Mazelinka's relationship with these wild animals. How M6 feel about it. Aaaa this is good. Yanny likey. This might seem a bit incoherent, I'm coming off of laughing gas and I don't normally write things like this? But I hope you enjoy nonetheless!

Soup.

Muriel normally cooks for the wild animals in the forest, and he tries to extend as far into town as he can, but usually he doesn't go that far. (our boy has ✨social anxiety✨)

So, Mazelinka catches word (from gossip queen Portia, probably) that some wild animals on the outskirts of Vesuvia are getting fed by a cryptid and she thinks. "Wow! Great idea, I bet I can help." But she, obviously, interprets "Wild Animals" to mean wolves and bears and stray coyotes.

So, Mazelinka, being the badass grandma she is, makes, not just soup. Not just stew. Full platters of beef stroganoff for any wild animal she comes across.

Asra doesn't know. If someone does tell him, he doesn't know who Mazelinka is.

Julian thinks it's just another one of Mazelinka's things and he doesn't question it. (Secretly he's a little concerned about coming to see Mazelinka and finding her surrounded by wolves or something and then getting eaten by them, but that's not very realistic, now is it?)

Nadia only knows Mazelinka by correlation, but when she overhears that there's a badass old lady feeding wild animals beef stroganoff, she finds her, thanks her for helping keep children from being eaten by wild animals, and then asks for her beef stroganoff recipe.

Muriel finds someone else caring for nature as much as he does refreshing, but he finds Mazelinka's tactics.... interesting, to say the least. Plus, he's absolutely terrified of her, so there's that.

Portia knows what Muriel was originally doing, but she also knows that Mazelinka genuinely cares about people and animals and the ecosystem and all that jazz she doesn't completely understand, plus, she knows Mazelinka is a badass and thinks it's cool. (At one point she tries to feed a coyote some leftovers but she ends up having to get Muriel to make it leave her alone because it sat outside of her house for 6 days waiting for more food)

Lucio doesn't think it's that cool, I mean, everyone can feed wild animals, right? (Cue noises of a prosthetic arm clanking against the ground amidst screeching and frantic running and scratching)

Asra

We all know how emotionally distant they are, and this doesn't change no matter what your relationship with them is.

They're...? Really, it's just your relationship with them in-game if you choose someone to else's route.

Julian

Yeah this is not a pretty one either. Julian is the type of person to just need constant reassurance, and if you can give him that, great, if not, he'll drag you down a bit.

That, obviously(?) makes any relationship with him hard, but he's very devoted to people who care about him.

He tries so hard to get people to like him but really he's over-achieving and I feel as though if he were partners with someone, romantically or platonically, he'd just mellow out a bit.

Nadia

Nadia has a lot of people that she cares about a lot. She's constantly trying to make people feel welcome and good, even if she doesn't get that treatment herself. She needs someone to give her that sometimes.

She's very doting, it's in her nature. If you were in a relationship with her, she'd absolutely spoil you, regardless of the other factors of it (closeness, platonic/romantic, etc.)

Muriel

Muriel doesn't understand how relationships work. He doesn't even understand how people work, really, but he's trying his best.

He's very protective, and tends to take things literally even if it was meant to be a joke or sarcastic.

Pillow

Portia

She's probably the most laid-back person you're going to get out of this lineup. She likes to talk, but understands when its inappropriate and always puts your comfort over hers.

She'll always be there for you no-matter what you need. She's there in the morning to make you tea and help you get out of bed, and there in the evening to listen to you rant and tell stupid stories.

Lucio

Montag "Lucio" Morgasson can't even begin to understand the divide between basic politeness and over-the-top PDA

If you're in a relationship with him, expect constant gestures. VIP invitations to every ball? Check. New clothes because you mentioned you "didn't have anything to wear" (even though you did)? Check. Late night talks at 3am because Lucio doesn't understand the concept of privacy and randomly sneaks into your house/room/bed and just starts talking like you're awake enough to listen? Check.

Bold of you to assume that Asra hasn't sprung glitter bombs on people (mc and Julian) as a joke before.

If you gave him or poured glitter on him he probably wouldn't mind too much but he WOULD get you back.

Julian

If you're going to pour glitter on him, be gentle. Don't scare him, he'll cry in a corner for three hours if he gets scared.

He likes glitter in like, makeup? Like eyeshadow and lipgloss but never like, actual shreds of glitter. He doesn't mind it, though.

Nadia

She likes glitter, sequins are cool, anything sparkly on her clothes? Nice. She doesn't actually see the need for like, packets of glitter. What are you even going to do with it other than throw it at people?

Portia

Okay, she's all about expressing yourself, but she can't stand getting glitter in her hair. Glitter itself? Good, sparkly, sweet. Glitter in her hair? ITCHY.

Obviously she's not going to say anything about if you like glitter but if you like spring any on her you've activated a prank war and you will never escape.

Muriel

Okay, okay. He loves you, he really does, but do you have ANY IDEA HOW LONG IT TAKES TO WASH GLITTER OUT OF A SINGLE OBJECT OF CLOTHING?? ESPECIALLY BACK BEFORE THEY HAD SHOWERS??? And don't go "ohhh but Yanny it's magic they should be able to—" NO. GLITTER SUCKS TO GET OUT OF CLOTHES. BE NICE.

Oh my god, you have no idea how much this man loves glitter.

The texture? 👎 The look? 👍. If he gets glitter stuck in his hair or in his clothes that isn't like, a part of the look? He's absolutely staying in the bathtub or refusing to wear the outfit until he gets it off.

Hello !! I was hoping I could get a matchup! I go by many names (Mia, Mima, Nima, Mimo). I’m 5’2”, non-binary (she/they), bisexual, 22 and major in anthropology and study astronomy and physics for fun. I work in the husbandry/raising of toucans, toucanets, cockatoos, macaws and many other birds so I’m literally a bird mom. I love lovecraftian horror and dark artwork but love to dress in a frilly pastel way and adore aesthetics. I also have nipple piercings and plan of getting quite a bit of tattoos (constellations and little symbols of my family/partners) . I crochet when anxious (which is often), I’m kinda a stoner and I enjoy occasionally wearing kitty ears or a halo around the house. Ummm.. I have a froggy hat and a chunky cat named Molly. :) I get told I have great taste in music which makes me smile because music is really special to me. I love to sing while driving or just dancing anywhere, sharing my earbud with a friend so they can join. Hm.. I don’t know what else to put. Oh! (Side note before I begin, your content brings me much comfort reading through it, and I admire the content you bring to the fandom very much so!)

I am aromantic/asexual, though it is quite common for me to be in platonic partnerships with other people. I am a man who is 5’7 and has around 3 foot long blonde hair (my hair is my pride ✨) and blue eyes.

My ultimate platonic love language to receive is spending quality time together, and whether that means cooking with them, just sitting in the same room with them and not talking for hours on end, or cuddling and watching movies with one another, I am almost always ready to share my time with those who I care for. On the other hand, my favourite love language to GIVE is all of them. Yes, all of them. Gift giving, doing small chores and acts of service to help them, quality time, complimenting them. I get almost as much joy giving affection as I do receiving it!

That said, if I care for someone they very rarely can wear me down, but talking to other people very quickly drains my social battery and can send me into a nonverbal episode that can last for days.

I tend to be drawn to very passionate people. Many artists who obsess and hyperfixate over several shows or games, people who find beauty in nature and could ramble on for hours about what they found in the woods. I adore seeing people when they are talking about what they love, and it always makes me appreciate it a little more seeing it through their eyes.

I am personally interested in history, especially plague doctors and fashion, animated series (Moomin, Bee and Puppycat, wholesome series like that), and I am absolutely weak for RPG games, especially pixel based ones.

I do hope I did not type too much- Once again, I adore your content, and I will certainly be following to see more of it!

He doesn't say anything about it. He likes it, and he compliments your work sometimes, but he's sort of apathetic. He might ask for one, and if you give him one he doesn't talk the whole time, but he enjoys it, and he shows it to everyone he meets on his travels to talk about you.

Nadia

She doesn't want a tattoo, but thinks your skills are amazing, and brings it up around others as a conversation starter. Even though she doesn't personally enjoy the idea she's very proud of you.

Julian

He asks for one, gets half of it done, starts crying, and runs out. He never brings it up again.

Portia

She'd ask you for one (probably star shaped!) and she'd actually be able to handle it. She's really sweet even if it isn't that good, and constantly shows it off. Julian is jealous.

Muriel

He finds it a very interesting art but he'd never actually get one. He's very aware of how much pain that getting a tattoo would cause and he's not very up to that. He's in enough (emotional) pain already.

Lucio

He loves it. You're so talented! He'd think he's so cool and ask you for one, but after the first prick he just CAN'T handle the pain. He is TERRIBLE at handling pain.

Everyone expects them to be like these great sophisticated dogs of some great king when they first come to the castle but within the first like 5 minutes it becomes evident that these are actually just some dogs he found in the trash and had someone train

They have bitten several trainers. (Lucio doesn't know why they kept quitting!)

Nadia acts like she's indifferent towards them, but they're such sweet dogs (only to people Lucio likes) that they've really grown on her over the years

They were originally trained to help when Lucio had a sensory overload or a panic attack (I'm pretty sure people with anxiety can have sensory overloads but idk, I'm not neurotypical) but when he lost his arm he was so distraught he had them trained to help him with basic things like getting his pants off (or something lmao)

Julian was absolutely terrified of them at first, but grew to appreciate them after being friends with Lucio for so long and seeing their impact on him and his wellbeing

Everyone expects the dogs to be so poised and spoiled but really they're little savages like Lucio himself and they'll steal from your plate while you're not looking if you don't feed them from your plate like Lucio does.

Hi, I was wondering if you were still doing the matchups, because I finally got the confidence to ask for one. I know you don't really like doing them so if you don't want to do this, feel free to ignore it. :)

I am a 5,3 woman with grey eyes, long wavy brown hair and ridiculously pale skin. I am greysexual and panromantic. I am a March Pisces and an INFP.

Most of my pastimes are more laid-back and creative- I enjoy drawing, writing and reading. Considering the feedback others give me, I'd say I'm a pretty good cook despite never following recipes and just going with whatever feels right. Singing and dancing are things I indulge in privately (I have never shared my interest in those with anyone before). I don't mind being active; in fact, I do enjoy it, I just can never motivate myself to do it.

My love language is acts of service, so you'll find me making you snacks while you work or organising your stuff to save you some work. I believe that every couple consists of the person who likes to have their hair played with and the person who likes to play with hair, I am the latter. I am extremely touch starved, to the point where I cried when my dog layed its head in my lap.

I am a pretty indecisive person and I lack confidence. I am very much introverted but I don't mind being in public so long as I'm there with someone I know and trust. I lack spontaneity, but I do like being spontaneous. I have very strong morals and a strong sense of justice. I can be very driven when fueled by something I'm passionate about. I simply cannot stand people who are full of themselves and belittle other people. I have a tendency to ignore my own feelings and emotions because I feel as though they aren't important. I have a tendency to overthink everything and then end up going with what my feelings are telling me anyway.

Oh, you know, MC is a character in and of themselves, and I don't want to make people upset with my portrayal of them, so, the other 5 it is

She completely accepts Asra, because Nadia loves all of her nonbinary friends. She still treats Asra just the same, and doesn't see him any differently. Hell, half of her courtiers are nonbinary, why is this any differently?

Julian

"Why did you have to specify?"

Immediately, he assumes someone gave Asra shit about it, and that's why he says that. He's not one for gender roles, and Asra doesn't really mind the he/him pronouns in canon, but Julian respects pronouns, so if one day Asra wants to go by they/them? Okay, vibe! They/Them it is. Supportive doctor friend.

Portia

"Okay, what pronouns do you want me to use?"

Portia is the kindest, and sweetest lady. She's so accepting of others and will fight any insensitive prick who dares shit on anyone who's different. This is not an exception. She may not know Asra very well, but she respects him regardless.

Muriel

"I know."

Muriel doesn't understand how gender works. He's known Asra since they were kids, and Asra has always had a weird view of gender as well. Muriel knows him. Muriel knows.

Lucio

"Just do your magic, magic do-er"

Asra and Lucio are not friends. They're like, aquaintences, at most. Asra is the palace Magician, and he does his job. Lucio is a dick, but he's not so rude that he won't respect someone's gender. He understands how it is for people not to respect you. He may not like Asra, but he's not so low as to misgender him.
