Aquessa’s IC response to the Nightborne joining the Horde
Some time in the not-so-distant future, after the burning of Teldrassil by the Horde.
Pap, pap, pap; a long finger taps three times, quite audibly, on the ancient parchment of an Elven tome.  “The Nightborne?” Aquessa eyes you, visibly agitated by the question, “nay, say ‘Nightfallen’, for indeed what grace and nobility I had thought left in them is obviously absent.” She rises, somewhat dramatically, from her stone seat and turns to gaze out of the eastern window, the faint glow of Suramar just barely visible on the horizon. “Thalyssra and her ilk have proved themselves base, no better than those lesser cousins of our great race, with whom they now fraternise.” She fiercely draws the transulent silken curtain across the window, masking the incandescence of the Elven city in the distance, and nigh on ripping it from its bearings above, high on the domed ceiling. She turns again, moving to a decorated wooden table to pour herself a glass of mulberry wine from a silver pitcher. “’Tis paltry to be Nightfallen!”, she emphasises the second part of the word clearly, before resuming her seat at her vast stone desk, strewn with many books, scrolls, and even a half-crumbled stone tablet. “Now withered is the garland of the war, and the soldiers poles lay fall’n on the battlefield. Would that I had seen then what I see now - that traitorous blood which e’en ten thousand years ago had marked them as separate to us. I had hoped-” she stops mid sentence, raising the silver goblet to her mouth with a shaking hand to take a sip. “I had hoped that they might again be led to see the Goddess’ light. It was a hundred, hundred years ago... the war...” She takes another sip, “I had thought them changed since then. Have not we all changed since then? Adapted?” She places the goblet down on the desk gently, careful not to disturb any of the ancient parchments strewn across it. “Alas, fool was I to place my hope in them. Green in judgement was I to say as I said then, that they might be redeemed.” She rises again, resuming her place at the eastern window, Suramar’s glow still faintly visible through the thin curtain. “Unwisely did we save them from withering, when clearly it was the Goddess’ will that they should die. Would that we had unpeopled that city, which once was the jewel of Elune ere it fell into darkness.”
Aquessa sighs deeply. “No matter. Their flesh shall feed the Immortal Moon in the end.”

Note
What is their favorite number? and Why do they get up in the morning?
Thanks for the ask!1. I feel like Aquessa’s the sort of person who thinks things like favourite numbers are trivial and a waste of time. If someone were to ask her that she would probably be confused as to why, of all things, that was the question on their mind. Hypothetically, if Aquessa did have a favourite number, it would be something whole and round like 100 or 1000, a strong, fixed number with a sense of completeness.
2. With the assault on the Burning Legion moving from Azeroth to Argus, the aftermath of the war on the Broken Isles has become apparant. The Suramar Revolution has at last come to an end, the Nightmare has been banished from Val’sharah and the Naga ranks in Azsuna are substantially thinned - now is the time to take action in ensuring that the legacy of the Elves on the Broken Isles is not only preserved, but continued. For Aquessa, each dawn brings with it a new hope that what remains of the Elves may yet be saved. She awakens, then, with this purpose in mind; to restore, to renew and to persevere.

Highborne Ruins - The Forgotten Cities
Tumblr media
The Cities:
Lathar’Lazal
Then’Ralore
Galhara
Aru-Talis
Lathar’Lazal
Lathar’Lazal, or ‘Seat of the Sky,’ was a resplendent temple of gem-encrusted bridges and lakes on the western edge of Kalimdor [World of Warcraft Chronicle Volume I, pg. 95]. Some consider it one of Queen Azshara’s most wondrous gifts to the elven empire, since she not only gave Lathar’Lazal its name, but used Sharas’dal, Scepter of Tides, to command the nearby ocean and freshwater mountain streams into lakes surrounding the temple’s foundation. Aquatic creatures of all types lived within Lathar’Lazal’s lakes, including exotic fish and a colossal sea giant, which Azshara herself bound to the temple and had perform tricks for onlookers. Kaldorei journeyed from all corners of the empire to Lathar’Lazal just to catch a glimpse of or even study the sea giant [Sharas’dal Shaman Artifact Text].
Tumblr media
Some have speculated that Lathar’Lazal is represented in game by Blackfathom Deeps, Sargeron, and even Darnassus. Blackfathom Deeps and Sargeron were both once esteemed temples of Elune [Quest: Twilight Falls, Page: Sargeron], however Lathar’Lazal is far too north on the map to have been in Desolace. In fact, it is in approximately the correct place on the pre-Sundering map to be in Ashenvale, especially when accounting for how the borders of regions shifted in the Sundering. Furthermore, Blackfathom Deeps’ appearance is consistent with depictions of Lathar’Lazal’s many bridges and lakes. Even if one were to dispute that the aboveground entrance of Blackfathom Deeps does not have bodies of water surrounding it, it is entirely possible that the lakes opened up into the ocean during the Sundering.
Tumblr media
It could be, however, that Blackfathom Deeps is not Lathar’Lazal at all and that Lathar’Lazal was either destroyed during the Sundering or hidden as the land shifted. It is important to note that Blackfathom Deeps was once part of a city called Zoram, which is never found in mentions of Lathar’Lazal.
Then’Ralore
Tumblr media
During Queen Azshara’s reign, the monarch sent expeditionary forces to explore the world and expand the empire’s borders. Those expeditions succeeded in establishing various outposts and repositories, such as Then’Ralore in the lush central wilds of Kalimdor (which would later become known as the Barrens) [World of Warcraft Chronicle Volume I, pg. 95].
Galhara
Galhara was a great city some distance on the opposite side of the Well of Eternity from Zin-Azshari. Its boundaries were lined with hundreds of emerald crystals on top of obsidian poles. Although they acted, among other things, as defense against magical attack, they had never been used for such a purpose.
The crystals, which draw their power from the Well of Eternity, were realigned on a nightly basis. The sorcerers of Galhara used the stars to adjust the lines of force which ran from one crystal to another. This task was completed in a matter of moments just by turning each individual crystal.
The sorcerers of Galhara were not as proficient as the Moon Guard [The Well of Eternity, Chapter Seventeen].
There is some debate as to the actual locations of the cities which existed on the Well’s shores. Zin-Azshari is typically depicted as adjacent to the Well of Eternity [The Well of Eternity, Chapter One, Chapter Seventeen], however recent official art of Zin-Azshari and the pre-Sundering map seem to imply that the capital was built around the Well of Eternity and not next to it. If this is the case, then Galhara may not be on the opposite side of the Well from Zin-Azshari, as is suggested.
Aru-Talis
This city was supposedly destroyed generations before the Sundering because its inhabitants tampered with the Well of Eternity. Whether or not this town actually existed is controversial, since some claim it is a myth even though there appears to be a gaping crater at its location. The tale of Aru-Talis may have served as a parable to dissuade spellcasters from meddling with the Well [The Sundering, Chapter Sixteen].

Elf brows are like cat’s whiskers.
"This organ makes the Elf's brows very sensitive to even the smallest change in the Elf's environment. An Elf's brows not only help it to gauge whether it can fit into a tight space (without even being able to see it), they can even respond to vibrations in the air, such as when the Elf is chasing prey. Brows also serve as a way for Elves to visually measure distance, which is why they are able to leap so quickly and gracefully onto a narrow ledge or out of harm’s way."
