Fun detail I noticed while rewatching Selfishness vs Selflessness, idk if ppl have already talked about it but:

Thomas swears his oath with a copy of the Holy Bible, which is (unless I’m mistaken) the standard book you’re meant to hold while swearing in for court. 

Patton uses the Catholic Youth Bible, which is just funny because of course he would *cough* catholic guilt side I’m kidding ily patton

Roman, very cleverly imo, gets a VHS of the Disney movie specifically about telling the truth (Pinocchio, for those who can’t make it out).

Logan has a copy of The Grand Design by Stephen Hawking and Leonard Mlodinow, which discusses the workings of the universe through the context of quantum mechanics and the theory of relativity. I think this is supposed to represent how science is Logan’s ‘religion’ and this book is his ‘holy text’, therefore it is being used as a replacement for the bible.

Virgil’s confuses me because as far as I can tell, this is Word Cloud Classics’ edition of 101 Fairy Tales by the Brothers Grimm and that doesn’t really have anything to do with his function or personality as a side…? But he also doesn’t even put his hand on it and just says ‘whatever’, so who knows.

Let's talk about three of Logan's playlist songs, huh?

Specifically Streaks by ANIMA!, Erase Me by Ben Folds Five, and One More Time With Feeling by Regina Spektor.

Streaks is... Surprisingly reminiscent of WTIT? The lyrics are at least.

"Seven years old with a brand-new coloring book

Every page with the perfect design

You can decide on the colors that you like

As long as you stay in the lines"

This is obvious, the coloring book scene at the beginning, but also since Logan's trying to do what he's always done - being his "perfect design" by not changing how he normally approaches problems.

"All these years of filling out papers

Building a future, keeping your head down

Tryin’ to keep a head on your shoulders, keep it creative, make it your own somehow

Cause it's all a piece of the plan"

Once again, obvious: Logan's been doing this same song and dance for fucking years and nothing's changed.

"So you hum to a tune singing you'll figure it out soon"

This to me sounds like the end of the video: Thomas saying he'll do Logan's plan tomorrow, or the day after - that he'll "figure something out" that works for Logan, but he probably won't, and Logan knows it.

Erase Me feels like it's the next "chronologically" - Logan, feeling ignored or "erased" by Thomas, snaps and yells at them all (good God I hope so, he deserve it). He's been ignored and pushed aside for so long and the computer imagery ("Would it be easier to just delete the pages and the plans we've made?" "Ctrl+Alt+Delete me baby") fits for Logan's "robotic" image. Plus, all the talk of "murder" and moving on in the song ("Put me in the ground and mow the daisies") is very disconcerting and, to me, seems to be pointing towards some sort of ducking out? Maybe I'm just biased towards angst but still.

And then One More Time With Feeling feels like the... Conclusion, to Logan's arc. It sounded, to me at least, like another side maybe attempting to help him express his feelings more accurately? Maybe Janus? They talk about how everyone seems bored by what the "you" in the song has to say and the narrator has to halt everything, plus the references to this all being scripted and rehearsing seems to show that the person being spoken to thinks of everything as a show (which in Logan's case, it is). Plus the added "This is why we fight" might imply that Logan's inability to properly express himself is the reason they have their problems in the series?

Some other metaphors/symbols I have found after watching it a dozen times.

1. The knife metaphor

Remember that moment where Logan gave c!Thomas a coloring book so he could take a break for a little bit?

Well you certainly heard Logan say something about how Thomas should 'do something less stressful like coloring so that he can let the unwanted thoughts pass him by'.

After Logan made that statement, the knife flew across the kitchen and into the living room (Or is it the living room idk-), and before c!Thomas gets obliterated, he moves his head forward to focus more on the coloring book.

This moment makes me think that the knife represents c!Thomas' unwanted thoughts, and when he moves his head forward, he basically shifted his focus to the coloring book. Thus he was able to let the thought 'pass him by'.

Literally and figuratively.

2. Orange room pog

After the whole awesome dancing, Logan decides to talk to Remus. Which totally went well. Anyway, my main focus here is the room Logan and Remus are in.

Interestingly enough, the room already has a tint of orange in it before Logan decided to talk to Remus.

Which possibly indicates that man's already frustrated because Nico still hasn't responded to him yet. The orangeness just became more obvious when Logan tried to talk to Remus.

Another one is that the orange tint became more saturated? (I couldn't find any better words) when Thomas picked up the phone.

This could just be my eyes deceiving me but my point still stands.

This reminds me of someone else's theory about how Logan and Thomas are connected in a way where Logan is more influenced by Thomas' anger because of his religious upbringing and his frustration of being ignored. Also the orange room further proves the existence of the orange side and how he can affect the others using the others anger and frustration about something.

Now that I think about it, it's pretty cool how when a side or Thomas is extremely angry at something, a tint of orange can be seen.

Im surprised I havent seen anyone talk about the orange light coming from upstairs- (Unless someone already did. But s t i l l). There could be more sights of orangeness but that's all I could find.

ANNA MIDNIGHT IS A FORTUNE TELLER AND A GOD ACTUALLY

Folks, let's talk about this scene and what it could possibly say about Remus:

"What? What do you want? God you are so annoying. I was just being nice. Why don't you leave me alone? Take a hint! You're embarrassing. From the moment I met you."

Obviously on the surface this is supposed to be an intrusive thought Thomas gets about Nico, but notice the way it cuts between the imaginary Nico speaking and Remus feeding the words that he's saying. It could just be showing Remus giving Thomas the intrusive thought, but we already knew that, and Thomas and crew has been known for their foreshadowing so I think it was something they did on purpose. Pay attention to Remus's facial expressions and how "into it," he is, for lack of a better term. Some of the word choice is very specific. It seems like these words, the whole speech even, is familiar to him. "Annoying" and "embarrassing" are certainly words that could describe the light sides' feelings towards Remus, and one of them could have said something like this to Remus before. The strongest contender for this theory would be Roman. The two clearly have some kind of history between them, being brothers, and a conversation like this from Roman directed at Remus could have very well happened during a falling out of sorts.

"If you don't get rid of me, I'm gonna get rid of you."

This last part before Logan interrupts with the music just further adds to the idea. It could possibly tie back to the whole "Have you ever imagined killing your brother?" bit, and the way the camera goes from Remus to Thomas, both with a similar expression on their face, would suggest Remus in the place of Thomas in this hypothetical situation, being on the receiving end of what Nico is saying.
